the best chamber maker goes too... demon arisen!

Fortunately a blue cube wasn't needed at the end ;-)

I actually solved one of your puzzles!

Also very nice job capturing the praise of Mevious the Great 👀

Played this one again after a while, noticed there are two ways to get the cube in the funnel room (also applies to advanced version):
1. (what I think is intended) deactivate fizzler with cube, stand on reverse funnel button, portal so the cube gets sucked in, step off button once cube is in funnel room, portal so cube goes through lasers at a reachable height
2. (maybe unintended, much easier) simply place portals behind laser and accessible surface while fizzler is off, place cube through without going through yourself

Also solved it much easier this time - while I was looking through the comments to see if anyone had mentioned this I seen my old comment saying I had to leave it till the next day 😂

Difficulty: 6/10
Design (objective score): 8.5/10
Enjoyed (subjective score): 7.75/10

Very, very nice.

this took we a while but I loved it, so glad I found your test chambers!
Mevious 20 Jul, 2021 @ 10:48pm
Great puzzle! This is kind of a nitpick, but I accidentally cheesed this one a little with the move at 5:44 on my playthrough . I know this is an old puzzle, but this would be an easy fix that would improve it.
RedstoneParadox 13 Aug, 2020 @ 7:54pm
I think this is the first of your harder test chambers that I've actually managed to solve; anyways, great test as per usual.
canticle 29 Nov, 2019 @ 4:40pm
Uncommon for me on your maps, I seemed to fall into doing the right things at the right time on the first try. Normally I struggle much more....must've been in "the zone".

Fun little chamber, thanks.
Swedish Firefighter 20 Jun, 2017 @ 11:41am

Simple and fun!

Excellent puzzle, I really enjoyed that. After having my brain frazzled by your 'Sniper' map yesterday, I'm surprised I completed this one without too much of a problem. The more of your maps that I play, I'm starting to notice that it's not just the cleaver (sometimes evil?) concepts, but the design and style are also well thought out and implemented. Thank you.
PixelPerfect 12 Oct, 2016 @ 7:43am
Good Redux to the last test of the Portal 2 Campaign! Thumbs up!

Finally, the light bulb came on! Now I just have to get something off the bottom of my boots... ;-) This chamber is a favorite.

This was very creative and fun to solve D: Good thumb-up from me.
Petutski 5 Feb, 2016 @ 7:25am
Excellent map. Very clever multiple use of the blue gel! Thanks!

Part Two (yay for incredibly short post limit):

This was particularily tricky to do, which makes me think it was an unintended solution. I'm pretty sure the glass is there to prevent you from doing that . However, I was still able to jump under . I don't know what you could do to fix this, since as far as I know the glass is as low as it can go, one block. Either way, yet another incredible map, and I actually did have to leave it till the next day to find the solution.
zigzagtenniscoe 4 Jan, 2016 @ 1:15pm
You never cease to amaze me with your challenging puzzles. :)

May have found an unintended way to progress however:

Once you're got the reversed funnel and you're at the beginning platform, use the funnel to splatter (hehe) paint over the floor. This I assume is to jump into the funnel. However, I used this paint to juno once, then I jumped another time to go higher. I noticed on my second jump that I was jumping high enough to reach the button. It was tricky, but I jumped under the glass and kept my momentum going up, to get to the button. I could press the button, then the cube would respawn and disappear off the button, making it forward again. I could jump back under the glass, and place a funnel above me, than jump into it. I solved the puzzle normally from there.

Nice work; simple and clean.
eeloocraft113 23 Oct, 2015 @ 10:16am
Was I suppost to Climb through the goo funnel hole thing ?
The Sojourner 22 Sep, 2015 @ 7:48pm
Nice one. I also finished with a cube to spare :p2cube: That said, a minor puzzle improvement would be to put a button at the exit, as well as some way to ensure a clean cube when it gets there.
wildgoosespeeder 14 Sep, 2015 @ 3:52pm
OK, now that you have told me that the blue gel I placed was intended, why not make this chamber more challenging by carrying the cube to the exit? This means you will have to adjust the blue gel dropper, preferably timed to dispense a certain amount. That would also reduce graphical overhead for less powerful machines. I would place the timed pedestal button where the blue gel lands unredirected.

Also why I thought that the second picture was potentially problematic was because the way you configured the anti-trap hallway. It is implied that you wanted to have your test subjects go in one direction.
cyhborg 14 Sep, 2015 @ 5:40am
just place some glass under it. i did that for mine

(PART 3)

@zedxenon Yes it is please put potential spoilers in spoiler tags though!

@Portal 2 Gamer You've got one hour. SOLVE IT! <--- sweet reference m8

@Mass Interference I'm glad you thought so! :D

@Almuisfire Wow, thanks very much! Massive fan of your tests. Hahaha that's quite amusing!

@Ifairban Thanks, I'm pleased you liked it!

@SuperUltraRidiculouslyLongName Thanks very much! I considered adding a cube button but decided against it. Might add one later but I quite like it how it is. :)

@mikeloff# I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks so much for all the amazing feedback everyone. I've got three chambers ready to publish, the next one ought to be out within a week or so. :D
Demon Arisen  [author] 13 Sep, 2015 @ 7:22am
(PART 2)

@Daoud Baba Thanks for the feedback! :) In my opinion, any solution is the "correct" solution as long as it feels like you've had fun and it feels like you've solved a tricky puzzle.

@stormsend I'm glad you had fun! :D

@WGS First one is part of the intended solution, second one isn't, but it doesn't allow any exploits as far as I can see, so that's fine. :3

@ozchamp.wgt Thank you!

@Malfaction Thanks!

@Zoraya I'm very pleased that you like my style, and I'm very flattered too. Big fan of your work!
Demon Arisen  [author] 13 Sep, 2015 @ 7:21am
Thanks for all the lovely comments everyone! This chamber seems to be doing really well and I'm up to 71 followers now. That's 16 more than I had before this chamber was released! Time to reply to all your comments :D

@quaternary Thanks quat, I'm so pleased you liked it! :D

@temporarymanwastaken Interesting, I'll try and fix that. Thanks!

@cyhborg That's very odd, can't think of a fix right now but I'll try to come up with something! Also thanks for making an advanced version of this. :)

@ZAEROS Glad you enjoyed it. I might add a cube button in a future patch but I quite like it as it is. :)

mikeloff 12 Sep, 2015 @ 6:53pm
Took me like 20 mins to solve it but I really enjoyed it.
asd417 12 Sep, 2015 @ 4:05am
Simple and Elegant! Could have been nice to use cube for exit but still! Its Great!
lfairban 11 Sep, 2015 @ 1:00pm
Very nice. Somewhat difficult, but not to hard.
Almisuifre 11 Sep, 2015 @ 10:51am
Clean and clear, nice work.
Proudly jumping to the exit area I've been violently stopped in the air against a painted cube bouncing here and there hehe !
HumanBun 11 Sep, 2015 @ 10:03am
I wanna Solve it :steamhappy: And im Bored :steambored:
racknae 10 Sep, 2015 @ 4:03pm
Right then, I found another solution.
racknae 10 Sep, 2015 @ 3:55pm
Is splattering the blue gel in front of the laser grid an intended part of the solution?
Zoraya 10 Sep, 2015 @ 2:37pm
I like the style of your chambers, always a well thought out challenge and design. Thanks for another enjoyable map!
Malfaction 10 Sep, 2015 @ 9:19am
Nice map; fun to solve. Thumbs up!
ozchamp.wgt 9 Sep, 2015 @ 4:53pm
Clever map so enjoyed playing it
wildgoosespeeder 8 Sep, 2015 @ 3:53pm
I don't know the intended solution but I was able to these two things (careful of exploits with what I am about to show you):
http://www.steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails?id=515037987
http://www.steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails?id=515038255

If it wasn't intended, it did give me an idea for an advanced version of this chamber.
stormsend 8 Sep, 2015 @ 2:06pm
I had fun solving this one. Great map. Well built. Thanks friend.
Daoud Baba 8 Sep, 2015 @ 7:14am
Nice and cool easy puzzle ! I agree with Cyhborg, unfortunatly the "load glitch" can break this puzzle... I had to restart the level cause the cube came lonely after loading :/
Then I have to also agree with temporary... I was not sure if my solution was correct but I did as said temporary.
And for finish, I have to agree with ZAEROS (I did the same) :steamhappy:
| \_/ () 8 Sep, 2015 @ 6:39am
Nice puzzle, as always.
ZAEROS 8 Sep, 2015 @ 3:29am
Great map, also got cube to exit but well blue gooed so would need a wash if button added. Enjoyed, Thank you.
cyhborg 8 Sep, 2015 @ 1:36am
when i quick save and reload at the entrance, the floor directly under the paint dropper is automatically painted
