Such a wel-commented and well-eddited video! And it's of a playthrough of one of my maps. And it's one of my maps that I'm most proud of!

I binded a lot of things to the cube model:
* For the mechanics - plasma ball emitter prop, plasma ball destroyer brush, timer sounds and I think also some logic relays or something, I don't remember.
* For the look of it - I placed the model of a plasma ball inside the cube and had it appear and disappear in conjunction with the destroyer and emitter respectively. The cube skin wasn't made by me, I don't know how to make that.

Cool concept; the map was working good until the room where we call the 2nd reflector then the game crash (something about reflection_cube.mdl not precached). :steamsad:

You should check out the map sp_a3_speed_ramp, where there's a dropper attached to
a wooden board. A WOODEN BOARD!!! I thought this is a joke when I saw it but it's there.
I at least made this 196*196*196 metal box above the dropper. :D

Splendid map, IVO! The only (literally) issue I could see, the cube dropper is kinda weird, you could make a tube that shows the cube is delivered from the top.

Very interesting (and good) puzzle, especially with the new element. With the ability to move those energy balls around, emitting and reabsorbing them, you could add some really interesting quirks to maps, with gels and flinging and movement in general!

p0rtalmaster, Thanks for the suggestion! I'll be sure to use a soundscape next time. Getting to the second area is imo the weekest part of the map because many people don't look high up even though I thought it would be one of the coolest (getting up there you see the whole map, the exit is near but at the same time verry far, the whole flinging part I thought would be cool, etc.) but whatever. Oh, and getting stuck where you got stuck is pretty wird :D

Unowninator, I was absolutely sure someone would say that eventually :D

marcin19981998, If I'm ever gonna make another hammer map I think there's a 90% chance to be a part 2 of this one. It's not gonna be soon though cuz...life happened.

(Also, just FYI I managed to get stuck on the catwalk in front of the broken door on the way to the second area while trying to fling over there directly :P)

Initially I was confused as to how to reach the second area. Once I looked up I saw a way. This map's surprisingly solid, and the concept is really well done (go team!) :p2cube:

One thing though this map could really use: a soundscape, especially since the music doesn't restart (Steam workshop issue, unfortunately :P). It's easy: just place an env_soundscape near the player. I used something like ug_sphere_water_01 .

Quite original and very well done. The hardest part for me the was timed portion of this chamber. I don't do well under the gun All in all, very clever puzzle, thumbs up.

Wow creative new mechanic... Relatively easy to see what needed to be done but execution was sometimes very tight (7 seconds x 3).... Very nice atmosphere and textures. Thanks for creating.

Hehe, I had just played your chamber when I read your comment. :D

Interesting that you say that the puzzle gets 10/10 because most people (including me) think that the puzzles in this map are a downside, while the idea, design and everything else makes it better.

About the details - I put overlays almost everywhere - stains, ashes, sprays on the walls, hints like arrows etc.; added all sorts of pipes, vents and metal trusses; big variety of textures and 3 secret areas. I'd like to think the details are at least as many as in valve's maps.

Now how I rate it:
Design - 9/10
Story - 9/10
Sound - 9/10 (U chose good sound)
Puzzle - 10/10
Textures - 9/10

Whole map rate 9.2/10(average)

My opinion:
You've got cool ideas for maps and testing elements.
In this map was one of them.
Design was great but I'll add some more details.

Yes ! This time my game had not crashed before enter in the second area and automaticly don't crashed when I had called the second cube :) A good test with a geogous cube ! Timed part was cool cause I never have problem with that :sandwatch::bpflash::p2blue:

Loved the new mechanic! Though I disliked the timing puzzle, because 7 seconds isn't enough to do that much backtracking, unless I'm doing it wrong. But I really liked the last puzzle. I also don't like how many holes are there in the floor of the second chamber. I know its meant to be destroyed but I keep falling through it :GDHarder:

I updated the map again so the water looks reflective and I tried to pack everything needed this time.

Energy ball has no texture for me .. and the music stop when i die then respawn ...
But your puzzle is fantastic !! Your have good ideas ;)

No problem IVO :) I think I know here is my problem... My game crashed one time, and when I restarted Portal 2 , I directly load my previous save on your map. So if everything work fine in your test chamber, the problem must came from here :)

Now I'm absolutely sure that the cube skin works. I added a walkthrough video for the ones that are stuck.
