intresting idea. just imagine all the spots you could hide this. make certain door ways, absolutly lethal. idk if valve will ever make new weapons for engineer, but this would change the game forever if they put this in.

been a while since someone made an interesting weapon, course that's because valve doesn't too often add things that are wildly new that they didn't create. Hope this gets in in some form, very nice idea!

Basically arial denial in-your face.
Its no doubt a great concept but i have my doubts if this is good for engy to use, itd be OP in maps like junction or turbine, but weak AF in more open ones such as doomsday or badwater

You cab build 2, one gives teammates a speed buff when they walk through, the other does 20-100 damage, causes spies to not be able to cloak for 5 seconds, and makes a loud noise.

I think that there should be some form of "generator" that requires metal to keep the shield up. I really like the idea otherwise.

Thanks for taking time to respond. I don't know much about that gamescripts, but that's fine. Yeah, the particles look really good in the actual preview, I just wish they appeared in the game. Going through the trouble to actually rig it to work would probably be a waste of time anyway.
I still wish that it was a walk through teleporter over the dispenser, but since it's only a mod to showcase how it looks, that also would be pointless to set up as a mod.
I am pretty happy with it. I hope it gets at least some attention becaue Valve has ignored most building submissions. Keep up the great work. :ss13ok:

The item has a toolbox in it, it just simply doesnt work because of the gamescripts. Same goes for the particles since they are completly custom they would need to be scripted into the animation itself before they can be fired.

Okay, I really like this, even after my last comment. I've taken time to fully test this out in the mod. It seems incomplete due to it not coming out of the toolbox like most buildings. Also, the particles were included in the mod file but they're not rigged to acutally be viewed, so that it appears there are no particles. The build animation is pretty good, the upgrade animations work well too.
Besides the parts I haven't been able to see, the only proble, I still have is that it has no toolbox. If Valve doesn't like the energy shield idea, maybe it could even be a teleporter that you walk through, like a portal. Good work still.

This is an amazing idea, I can see it being used as a barricade to block enemy fire, or being placed in a doorway as a trap for unsuspecting passers-by. But as I was thinking about the "blocking enemy fire" capability, I realized, "How would the enemy be able to destroy it without a sapper, or even with one?" And I decided it would need some part of it to be larger than the two poles, probably dispenser sized, although maybe with different dimensions. Think of it like the feild generator, or something. It would only need to be attatched to one of the two poles, and if strategically placed, can make it harder for an enemy merc to destroy it. That way, I feel it would be a very balanced, more defensive option. I'm a big fan of Quin, Chaofanatic, and Pybun's work as well, both on and off TF2, and seeing that this was made by them all working together again almost made me sqeal. ^v^

Looks like a simular concept to a tool used in Quakeworlds Custom TF ( A mod for the original Team Fortress for Quake 1 ).

I posted a few concepts on it before, but I think it'd be better to have this as a Teleporter replacement and have it that you need to build each post individually and they connect directly unless there's something obstructing them or they're too far away from one another.

I also think the buildings are way too skinny though over all. Here's a simple concept I drew up some time ago that might give you an idea on how they could look if your interested:

On a side note though I will say I like the actual visual effect of the shield itself. Looks pretty neat.

Certainly an interesting idea, however the model itself is a little out of style, it doesn't look clunky like the rest of engies buildings or like something he'd construct easily out of metal.

I can't figure out how this building and/or weapon would be used in Team Fortress 2 without either being an obvious trap that gets destroyed quickly, or being overpowered if it is capable of destroying projectiles. I'm upvoting it anyway.
