The Neophite is being replaced with a kobold, when it spawns. Otherwise best dark elves mod on the workshop.

Okay judging by your screenshots - yeah something's wrong. I get (null) instead of Dark Elf, I don't get the Dark Elf trait on my units (or the models; except horses on cav), or the available skin colors, or the entries in the Book of Wonders :\

Just curious if there needs to be a certain mod order, if I'm missing installing anything else (have tried both with and without Shalthias's Dark Elves mod) ? Their Dark Elves mod also doesn't appear on the list (when you startup the game and go to [user content], not sure if it's supposed to. Um let's see, not sure what else to say to maybe give hints.

Not sure if you're still around the community, but you or anyone else that could help - would love an answer <3

So I don't know if this has been addressed (or is even a real issue); but when selecting the Dark Elves race (whether Shalthias's mod or just your regular template) it comes up "!Dark Elf - Race definition" ?? Is/are the mod(s) still going to work, or is it missing something?

Hello, first of all, I like to say thanks for the great mod. I love to play with the Dark Elfs. I found one error. If you reach stage 4 by the race improvement and choose military option (arkan arrow). This doesn't work and is not available by the archers.

hi, he have a problem with the french translation dark elf is elfe noir in french no haut elfe and some problem with the hero description, ex: in he like and don't like

Hi ramontorres15, not sure what you are trying to achieve or what the question is. You're creating a new Dark Elf Tier 4 unit and want it to be linked in the Dark Elf line up?

@Arnout, How can I set Dark Elf -Race Defrirition under the Race Link or do I keep it as High Elf when making a new unit un the package manger? I',m tring to creare a High Priestess tier 4 unit, do I need something special that is not covered in the AoW3 modding guide?

Correct, this mod doesn't change any of the existing races of Age of Wonders III or DLCs. It just adds the Dark Elves (I've just the Elf packs for this, but I could have added the new Race also in the Dwarf packs).

And if you create a new race next to the Dark Elves within this Mod there should be no conflict! In general just copy all the Dark Elf entries (in Red) to empty entries and rename them accordingly :HappyMask:

Ah no! but this pack you have made does not change the existing units and ive gone through and renamed all the conetent as im going woild that still cause conflict? if say this vanilla template and a renamed whle new completed race were both used would that conflict?

The reason i ask if i made a second race using this template id like them all to co-exist. Oh and cheers for the reply! Its really appreciatede!!

Hi Liberty Valance, good to hear! Yes if I iirc, it might 'clash' if a mod changes same resource packs. In this case the game will pick the resource pack with highest priority. (The priority can be set in the Package Manager). However a lot of mods don't change any packs the Dark Elf Mod uses and the game also checks per entity. More info here [aow.triumph.net]

im new to modding lol sorry but. i can't seem to figure out how to edit the Dark elves stats such as its resistance to blight. i can't edit that I tried to and it said in game that it was edited but when I looked at it after loading up the a game as a custom character with the edit. it did not work. still said the blight restistance was the same number. so i'm wondering how to edit it so I can change it nothing as come up. got no where else to turn.

Yes, most problems you mentioned is because the mod is a template. I just used the frostling unit xml for the Dark Elves for example. :) Everything needs to be translated as well. Best to play the template in English only.

Basically what needs to be designed & done to create a full Dark Elf mod:

* Dark Elf Race Terrain/Bonuses
* The base units (with descriptions)
* Optional new Dark Elf Abilities
* Dark Elf City Upgrades (for Special Unit, Defensive upgrade)
* Race Governance (+GameConcept Page)
* Good set of heroes and leaders for all classes

i'd love to play spider-based dark elves like in shadowmagic, but i have some issues so far (note that i have the german version):

1: the names of the units in the build list and the unit info are those of the frostlings. btw., if you need help with translation i would be glad to help.
2: the mouse-over-info for the icon of the darkelves is that of the high elves ones.
3: gouvernment rewards.
4: the citiys defense-building shoots a prismatic ray instead of webbing.
5: the green goblin-like model of the t1 irregular rly doesn't fit ^^
6: as necro i get t3 shaman on start. but t3 spiders too.

is it possible that it is because of some other mod i have or had subscribed?

v1.1 released. Minor update to fix the Shadow Stalker from not being producable in Rogue cities.

Full Change log:
Rogue Shadow Stalker now producable as Dark Elf Rogue
Spider Queen unit now uses the Vampire Spider icon
Dark Elf Irregular renamed to Dark Elf Enslaved
Dark Elf Support unit renamed to Storm Master

@arnout. I am adding in race commands slowly to my version, just giving you a heads up so you know what I am focusing on.

@smeagolheart, I am fine tuning my dark elves and nerfing them. That being said, I got ALOT of feedback from people begging me to add more dark elf units. As far as buildings, all races have access to the post grand palace buildings, and only dark elf race deals with the slave city and vs normal city distinction due to lore. However, it might one day end up on the chopping block, more feedback is required. As far as the new unit type of wizard goes, I am going to add a few more straight caster types to other races as well, I really like how the DE wizard turned out, and I have a human mage in the pipeline.

@Arnout, Shaithias' mod seems to not be balanced either, things like buildings that have bonuses and drawbacks, just seems too different from stock races.

I ended up doing a bunch of testing.....

but then later apparently simply restarting and then reloading my game (with both mods on) fixed the issue and gave my DE hero archlich Aura. Sorry for the trouble.

I don't know if this is a problem with Shaithias mod or the dark elf template mod itself... but there's a bug:

I am currently playing a Human necro, but have a DE hero - Ryltha the Rogue.... and she isn't affected by Harbingers of death - no archlich aura. So She's running around with my only living stack.

@smeagolheart It serves primarily as a template, but it could be. :HappyMask: Its a lot of work to create a 'releasable quality' race. For the Dark Elves a lot still needs to be designed: the uniqueness of the units, race governance, possible new dark elf abilities, etc.

Shaithias is working a Dark Elf mod using this template.

I found that i can't produce shadow stalker when i'm playing as dark elf rogue. I turned off the Shaithia's Dark Elf Mod and some other mods, and the bug is still there. Does anyone have the same problem?

Great, thanks. Are you OK with me altering the race and publishing it again? To truly use this as a template? And another quick question; would you mind creating a new CLB file for the unit icons with the icon for the Dark Elf Spider Queen having the correct icon? I love the idea ogf having a Spider Queen among the Dark Elves, but I'm not skilled enough with Photoshop or GIMP to make this correction myself...

Thanks for making this. I'm trying to use it as a template, but whenever I try to open the .acp file in the package editor, it tells me that this is an exported file, and that I'm not allowed to alter exported files. Do you have a copy of the editable file somewhere? I would really like to take a look at this.
