Tested your mod yesterday and it was good. I always thought it was dumb how bright caves are...atleast they don't have trees growing in them like the last game
While granted its both an old post and for a different game you might check out this thread over on the Torchlight 2 forums.

It details two methods for getting Workshop mods without owning the game on steam. While I have no idea if they work it might be worth giving a try as plenty of good mods on here seems to be abandoned. It would be a shame to lose out on access to some of them if the auther can't or won't upload them elsewhere.
Anyways, hope that helps, and as said above I'll throw my stuff up in the meantime.

I've considered messing with the tactical lighting, it requires no more effort than changing the strategic maps, apart from testing taking a few extra clicks. Honestly though I'm pretty happy with the tactical as it is, atleast for basic underground fights. Besides, if I gave it the same treatment it too would become a bit harder to see in, which I consider a larger problem for tactical than strategic.
Some suggestions:
I noticed that the inn and item racks do not have any glow to them even when not cleared of the guards. Seems out of place when everything else has the glow.
Bountiful melons and flowers of solace should either be brighter or have the glowing effect on them as well (when charged)
This should be officially intergrated into the game.
As far as the surface I don't really have any plans to tweak it as I'm not sure what I'd change, but I have been thinking about messing with some of the tactical battles. Great Farms are always a little too yellow for my taste, the problem there is identifying which profiles they are, and testing is a bit more time consuming.
Thanks for all the positive comments!
I have to admit that I wasn't really convinced by the screenshots but after trying the mod I realize that you really did a great job!
The contrast between the dark environment and the glowing sources of light is outstanding!
Thanks a lot for this mod!
I look forward to future possible surface lighting changes now.
Any plans for that?
Can't wait to see more lighting mods for environments like this.
