Thanks for the mod! Is it still working?
iknowjack123 7 Jul, 2016 @ 9:06am
Hey thx for the reply. Another modder gave me this link and it worked great: http://steamworkshopdownloader.com/view/529328279 (all you have to do is insert the steam page url into the link, dl it, put it in the right folder, and your done)
Tested your mod yesterday and it was good. I always thought it was dumb how bright caves are...atleast they don't have trees growing in them like the last game

Sure I can throw it up on Nexus, though the AoW3 section seems pretty dead.

While granted its both an old post and for a different game you might check out this thread over on the Torchlight 2 forums.

http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=60240

It details two methods for getting Workshop mods without owning the game on steam. While I have no idea if they work it might be worth giving a try as plenty of good mods on here seems to be abandoned. It would be a shame to lose out on access to some of them if the auther can't or won't upload them elsewhere.

Anyways, hope that helps, and as said above I'll throw my stuff up in the meantime.

Mod looks cool, could you upload it to Nexus? Bought AOW3 on sale from GOG, but steam workshop doesn't let you download files unless you bought the game from them.

I can be a dwarf now and not be annoyed by the lighting 10/10

Definitely a fan of the orange tint removal, but it is a little too dark for me. Certain terrain features are nearly impossible to spot.

Beautifull!

Love this mod but was wondering if it was possible to increase the lighting just slightly as it can be hard to see things
Furin 13 Oct, 2015 @ 6:27am
Needed some time to get used to it, but would not want to miss it now. Maybe better than the vanilla lighing, definitly different.

Yeah no good way around it, it is darker, so some things just don't stand out as well.

I've considered messing with the tactical lighting, it requires no more effort than changing the strategic maps, apart from testing taking a few extra clicks. Honestly though I'm pretty happy with the tactical as it is, atleast for basic underground fights. Besides, if I gave it the same treatment it too would become a bit harder to see in, which I consider a larger problem for tactical than strategic.

I'll be honest, I do have a slight problem with fullyseeing things in the underground world (possibly my problem rather than the mod's), but I am still very much enjoying the mod, it adds so much atmosphere to the underground world, especially for the Necromancer. I was just curious, do you intend to modify the lighting for underground tactical battles (if that is possible)?

Great work, you should message Triumph about integration into the actual game.

Some suggestions:

I noticed that the inn and item racks do not have any glow to them even when not cleared of the guards. Seems out of place when everything else has the glow.

Bountiful melons and flowers of solace should either be brighter or have the glowing effect on them as well (when charged)

This is so cool thanks! I love how the water shimmers and everything glows! It really looks like a moonlit night! Agreed that the screenshots do not do it justice!
sloban 28 Sep, 2015 @ 9:11pm
Wow this looks good.
This should be officially intergrated into the game.
Heather  [author] 28 Sep, 2015 @ 2:40pm
Thanks, and yeah screenshots don't really capture it, so much of what makes it work are the subtle pulses in the lighting and the swaying in the trees.

As far as the surface I don't really have any plans to tweak it as I'm not sure what I'd change, but I have been thinking about messing with some of the tactical battles. Great Farms are always a little too yellow for my taste, the problem there is identifying which profiles they are, and testing is a bit more time consuming.

Thanks for all the positive comments!

Wow!!!

I have to admit that I wasn't really convinced by the screenshots but after trying the mod I realize that you really did a great job!

The contrast between the dark environment and the glowing sources of light is outstanding!

Thanks a lot for this mod!

I look forward to future possible surface lighting changes now.
Any plans for that?

A significant improvement over the standard lighting. Good job!

This is amazing should be the standard setting

The Lighting is Like Skyrim in the Dwemer Cavern
joshdino 25 Sep, 2015 @ 12:46pm
Nice work!
Uber-n00bie 23 Sep, 2015 @ 6:13pm
I approve. This also matches most underground battle maps better imo. Great work!

Can't wait to see more lighting mods for environments like this.
Apohavnosis 23 Sep, 2015 @ 12:23pm
Looks more like underground now, well done.
The Speaker 23 Sep, 2015 @ 6:40am
Very "Underdark". I like it!
