Please mention in the description if it replaces an existing turret or adds a new one. Thanks!

Any chance you would either make a second one, or change this one to remove the large white ring?

and what about bottom mounted version, so when mounted as a chin gun the gun camera is not inverted.

It looks like the AAT from star wars
Dark_453 11 Dec, 2015 @ 4:22pm
Hi guys,
As far as i know its uses stock ammo. and its the same as the stock small ship turret. with Better Placement *sometimes* Personal i find this mod usfull, but also like the stock one :)
Veshka 2 Dec, 2015 @ 7:47pm
Could you make a larg ship version of this?
Pokeking 23 Nov, 2015 @ 9:34pm
Aye, Sasquatch has a point. Does it also use the same ammo?
Sasquatch 9 Oct, 2015 @ 8:28am
are the specs as far as speed, round per minute and damage the same as the stock turrets?
Hanniah (she/they) 6 Oct, 2015 @ 6:49pm
;-; Shit... I put that comment up at a time when I thought comments were going to come in so fast it would be wiped away within a day, then suddenly this mod vanishes and I get carried away in other projects. I meant to watch for arguments and take care of my own post without bothering anyone... I might just delete it if it really slowed down traffic.
HeatLighting 4 Oct, 2015 @ 4:26pm
How do you use these turrets?
737✈Garrus 3 Oct, 2015 @ 8:52am
i see, this removes the big, clumsy base the small ship turret has.
Onikage-056, God of Animatronics 1 Oct, 2015 @ 2:39pm
@Sektan Point... placement is important.

@nyalldavis Generally, my friend and I don't use mods for our survival map, so no, I can't say I've heard of it until now.
Nytonial 1 Oct, 2015 @ 1:52pm
@ninjaKitsune56 Damn... put an otherwise good mod off the charts.
Have you heard of compact reloadable rockets? they may be able to use wide or small (acting large) conveyor ports.

Onikage-056, God of Animatronics 1 Oct, 2015 @ 1:18pm
@nyalldavis They ARE large items, so you'll have to get creative with keeping the turret(s) armed.
Nytonial 1 Oct, 2015 @ 10:19am
I thoought missiles were "large" items and needed large coveyors???
zeronics 1 Oct, 2015 @ 8:01am
The vanilla turrets have a large base for balance. They arent supposed to be small otherwise you can stick a million of them on everything.
Deathstar 1 Oct, 2015 @ 7:59am
This is -WAY- better! Hope the devs take note.
Lazy Invincible General 30 Sep, 2015 @ 8:42pm
walls of text....... Jesus christ. Well atlest I don't have to read it all :)
jtfroh 30 Sep, 2015 @ 2:10pm
@tinnesaile and the wall of text. The gattling guns would have no where near enouh recoil to damage that base, and the rockets clearly use a recoilless system, or they would be literally usesless for any form of space combat. The base of the vanilla is TOO big, seing as the extra space doesnt do anything for the actual connection since the thing is bolted down to the base the same way anyway. This allows us to build ships our shape, instead of having to build around a bulky, unnecessary box. It lets us add weapon system to ships without having to interrupt the flow of the hulls to add a giant, useless box. I am not usually a fan of Sektan's style of design, as much as I like his mods, but this time I am very happy with what he has put out.
callme-jk 30 Sep, 2015 @ 11:15am
i dont get it. why isnt THIS the vanilla-version?... much better!
MaNiAc 29 Sep, 2015 @ 5:43am
Awesome! Instant subscribe!
The Calveen 28 Sep, 2015 @ 9:41pm
Check out the video in the image slider. I test out the turrets and how they perform.
Hanniah (she/they) 28 Sep, 2015 @ 8:17pm
Ironically, Pingers, that cuts you out of the vanilla versions not these ones. These ones supposedly are supposed to have a large conveyor on the bottom. How that platform has a large conveyor I don't know. But... because fun. The movement from the conveyor to the barrel is the confusing part for both.
Paracosmic.STL 28 Sep, 2015 @ 7:59pm
Rockets shouldn't go through small conveyors. It makes them OP in their own special way. Just call me :steamsalty: but I just won't use rockets that use small conveyors.
Hanniah (she/they) 28 Sep, 2015 @ 7:31pm
This is the first time I actually prefer the mere look of vanilla to one of Sektan's Designs. Comments are for feedback both good and bad so hear me out or ignore me please. Yes I understand I don't have to pick this up if I don't like it, but I don't want something this blatantly counter-intuitive to go without any second thought in a game community which looks daily at numbers like Thrust Force, Gravity times Earth's Constant, Acceleration, kilograms, and more. You can have your fun, but this honestly should be said.
Hanniah (she/they) 28 Sep, 2015 @ 7:31pm
The vanilla base may be pretty big and difficult to work with, but part of the whole excitement of space engineers is making new cool designs based on odd shapes. Not only does this base-cut-away design actually stick out kinda annoyingly past whatever block it's on, but it neither makes more sense nor looks better as a result of the lack of challenge. Instead of having an impressive display to show off, you're left with a degraded tin toy that sticks out as a complete after thought. If you could tighten things around the base it might be kinda cool to have that small popup feature, but this is a block which I'm willing to bet will see 99.9999% of its use on the outside of ships too small to support the logic of have a gun like this. I mean this isn't even ineffective artistically.
Hanniah (she/they) 28 Sep, 2015 @ 7:31pm

Imagine firing these things with the force they fire in game, and having that little supportive resistance. These things shoot rockets mere seconds apart and barely affect ship movement if they do at all. When something is shot out of ANY gun, it actually has a recoil force. That's physics and gun wielding 101. These things give that launch force to your ship, and that resistive power.... with probably less mass and volume than an air conditioner.
Hanniah (she/they) 28 Sep, 2015 @ 7:31pm

To be fair, yes. For graphical ease and for people just getting into the game for fun, this is a cool and great mod. I congratulate Sektan on coming up with something that will please people thousands of times more. This mod will give people great experiences and great opportunities to relish in the great space fantasy we all have come to love and enjoy. Bravo, Sektan. We're all proud of you.
Hanniah (she/they) 28 Sep, 2015 @ 7:31pm
The reason I'm posting this anyway, is because this getting to front page with only comments about the bulkiness is kinda a bad sign. People, you are the dreamers that will bring the love of space, exploration, and adventure into a wonderful future. That's awesome. I just want to give a hand to not only those who come up with neat ways to follow their dreams, but also a internet hug to those who actually think about these mods. Artists, Trekkies, Jedis, Sith, Space Captains and Engineers, Etc. You can do so much more if you challenge yourself. Please, enjoy this mod if you want, but please also consider the wonders you can create both with or without it. I'm sure they'll both surprise you.
MrEvan312 28 Sep, 2015 @ 7:16pm
I can kinda understand why the Gatling turret fire rate is so slow but why did they give it the tri-barrel rotary cannon. A single barrel cannon with higher damage in place of fire rate would have been more appropriate.
Teizan 28 Sep, 2015 @ 7:10pm
I vote no to these, for two reasons:

See the Large turrets? These have large placement squares for a reason (no clipping) (which while annoying that you can't encase the towers in armour, the raised platform is still important so you can ignore it.)

And secondly,

Missiles must never fit into small conveyors. No.
Vix Sparda 28 Sep, 2015 @ 6:35pm
i like these better then the vanilla ones XD
cjmx21 28 Sep, 2015 @ 6:43am
ill never understand why KSH had to make the turret have a derpy looking huge base. it makes practically any small ship you put it on look kinda off and silly
Laffyistired 27 Sep, 2015 @ 10:31pm
do u have DX9
Sirissac5 27 Sep, 2015 @ 6:49pm
i don't see a large conveyer port on the bottom
Nomander 27 Sep, 2015 @ 12:27pm
Is this just a more compact version of the small ship turret. Like is the turret in the "Old" screenshots from the vanilla game?
Sektan  [author] 27 Sep, 2015 @ 11:01am
@Gregarious Giggi: bottom side is large conveyor port
Fullmetalelf 27 Sep, 2015 @ 10:30am
man this ROCKs i had to rethink my ship i made cuz of the size now i might have to redo it :P cuz this looks awesome i wonder if you could make a Dual chain gun one :)
Commander Kobold 27 Sep, 2015 @ 10:05am
correct me if im wrong but dont missile turrets require a large conveyor tube?

@ HashtagMC not sure how the original can look better since it is the same model without the base, unless you mean you like the original "bulky" base.

Yeah, thats exactly what I mean. That "bulky" base.
737✈Garrus 26 Sep, 2015 @ 8:22am
Awesome, do you deliver them calibrated?
mx.nova 26 Sep, 2015 @ 5:05am
Thx :)

Fix

bottom side is now large conveyor port

mx.nova 26 Sep, 2015 @ 1:53am
The rocket turret cannot receive any ammo!!! It needs to have a large conveyor port.
VSWR 26 Sep, 2015 @ 1:10am
Why dafuq do they insist on makeing turrets abtuse and akward by default?
Q_meets_the_doctor 26 Sep, 2015 @ 12:22am
IS possible to make the ai only target turrets and rocket launchers
JWA 25 Sep, 2015 @ 9:26pm
These are awesome, just what I need. Though I wouldn't mind them large as well...
