Tried this civ out and was quite satisfied with it. The early-game faith bonuses of the UU and UB are pretty significant, but not in a way that ever felt overpowered. Plus, I learned about a real ancient culture I'd never heard of before. Nice work.

@Phalanx

Start bias don't work with resources, it's just terrain such as "desert, forest, coast etc."

For the record, the Trypillian start bias is on grassland.

Sorry, I said something wrong:
most of the ruins found of the trypillian culture wasnt near the Black Sea in the end (delta) of the dniepr's basin, but in ukraine's and moldava's plateau; these are high from the sea and not dish (hills), but the presence of wheat and good soil is still true. Pottery and agriculture of the trypillian culture need good soil (clay) and culture (wheat) to work.
I play with the Civ advanced mod, which add clay as ressource. Good one. It should be a start bias of the trypillian civ; it would make sens with their Olar and the most common cultural trait of this civilization (pottery and art from it).
Clay and wheat then, it should be the starting bias. With possible source of stone, wood, iron, deer and maybe others.

What is the start bias of this civ?
The trypillian culture was found in regions of actual Ukraine, right? Or at least in east european contries like romania, moldova, etc.
All of these ones are around the north-west coast of the Black Sea.
Then, these places are known for their agriculture traits. Ukraine is also known as the '' granary '' of east europe and was the wheat source of Soviet Union.
Even today, this country's economy still around the agriculture. But I must say that mines (iron and uranium) are important part of the economy too.
For the geography of the country, it is mostly dish plains, and the Dniepr's basin is very fertile.
So, my point is: the start bias may be more in plains where we could find more wheat ressources.
It would fit better the neolithic thematic of the civ if agriculture was better consider in the start bias.

Really loved this one. An early-game faith/food focus is pretty unique, and it was implemented wonderfully with this civ. The UB is great, and I found it worth it to eventually build all three stinas in every city I owned, although at the beginning I just built one in each city due to the maintenance cost, which balances it nicely. The Olar isn't complicated, but its faith upon improvement completion feature provides good dividends throughout the whole game. Overall, this one was a lot of fun to play, while also being pretty unique.

This is so nice. Really like the idea of ancient civs. Hope you make more of these.
And also hope for a E&D support for this and you other mods. I like The Olmecs in particular.

@Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyubids

Is it version 1 or 2? Some pointed out this bug on release and I fixed it in an update.

Hey, first of all I think you and your mods are pretty amazing and pretty good, but I am having a bug in probably of my games I played since I installed this mod. I can build two Stinas with other civilizations. I only played two games, one with Djosers Egypt(JFD I think) and the other with your Andorran Civ. I unfortunately don't know if the AI can build Stinas too.

@zaku_zelo

Something like that would be extremely hard to implement/balance, plus it's already been done. Aside from that they were advanced agriculturalists whose cities reached populations of upto 15'000 (one site may have housed 30'000), by far the largest settlements on Earth at the time.

The historical description of these guys makes me expect some crazy Civ that razes their own cities for bonuses, not a growth focused one like this.

@ajheather

Ouch, sorry!

You could make it a Vinca civ.
trashcan462 3 Oct, 2015 @ 3:25am
I was going to make this as my first civ but you beat me.

So this was the Mystery Civilization? I'd never even heard of the Trypellian Civilization before this was released.

I love it. Truly ancient civilizations are sorely underrepresented.
