That Morning Star looks a tad big to be onehanded. And that shield... it's huge! Does it get it's own view model? I think the shields the Demoman has are more buckler sized right now.... too much more might donk with the profile of the character? -shrugs- Keep working!

ok stats i think would be good:
Sultan's revenge:
+25% damage
+causes bleed for 3 seconds
-25% firing speed
-no random crits

Sultan's sheild
+30% resi to explosions
+20% resi to fire
+10% resi to melee
-25 health

set effects:
+5% damage
-10% movement speed

it's a pretty generic roman shield stop getting mad about nothing, many places used oval shields like this. there is nothing referencing an african shield. hell the name implies arabic why are you assuming african? is it because he's black? racist. (that's how dumb it is to call a shield racist)

Some people might take offense to the African shield, even though Demoman is Scottish. Maybe something that plays more of Demoman being Scottish instead of being black?

like both models, the mace is an excellent idea and demoknights always like new shields
