You know, something like this that helped players like me, who can't mod, to replace all the in-game textures somehow -- so that Loading Screen Mod could save huge storage space on workshop assets for us addicts -- would be a godsend.

One more question: What happens if a workshop asset contains multiple CRPs? How to select a single one?
Cylun 24 Nov, 2020 @ 9:38am
I verified it. The replaced textures are skipped and no blank space is left out. So there is no duplication and the LOD space is used efficiently.

@boformer I'm trying to use this mod to downscale large LOD textures of existing workshop buildings. The texture is getting replaced correctly. I verified that. However, I still get a warning from LSM that the replaced LOD texture is too large. Maybe you can clarify this. Are replaced LOD textures skipped or are they still added to the atlas, additionally to the new texture?

updated, working with industries. also added live texture replacement (CTRL + J)

Is this mod dead? I would like to have all roofs in one color like in italy, spain or germany.

Will this ever be continued?

OMG it works! Thanks Boformer!

Yes, sir.

Those are the names ModTools exported as. Though, I'm using BloodyPenguin's ModTools for C:S 1.1+, which doesn't create the the "rt_dump_" prefix.
boformer  [author] 19 Mar, 2016 @ 10:44am
I think the texture names are wrong. You have to use the filename outputted by ModTools minus the "rt_dump_".
Darth_Squirrel 19 Mar, 2016 @ 10:16am
Thanks for the quick reply, boformer.

Well then I am definitely at a loss. I used the example mod you provided (didn't even change the name) and moved it to:

\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Addons\Mods\ResourcePackRealisticEuropean

I have PrefabHook, Resource Replacer, and the custom Resource Pack enabled. No other mods enabled. I exported using mods tools. Verified that the file names were correct (in this case, "city_hall_MainTex.png" and "Oppression Office_MainTex.png"). But I simply cannot get the game to recognize these new textures.

Any suggestions?
boformer  [author] 19 Mar, 2016 @ 12:19am
Also make sure that PrefabHook is enabled.
boformer  [author] 19 Mar, 2016 @ 12:19am
it definitely works. Make sure that the textures are in the "YourPack/textures/buildings/" folder.
Darth_Squirrel 18 Mar, 2016 @ 10:55pm
Is this no longer working? I find I am able to change the color variations, but am unable to modify the textures.
boformer  [author] 3 Jan, 2016 @ 5:57am
no.
Killface 3 Jan, 2016 @ 5:37am
Nice work. Can this mod also be used to replace the vanilla road textures?
boformer  [author] 24 Dec, 2015 @ 8:38pm
It works, so it is kinda finished. I just added some documentation in the description.
boformer  [author] 10 Nov, 2015 @ 4:13pm
I actually updated this mod so that it supports custom buildings a few days ago.

Here is a tutorial how to use the mod: http://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/68595-what-is-more-important-a-texture-replacer-mod-or-a-custom-bridges-mod/?do=findComment&comment=1593882

I can write down a tutorial how to pack a resource pack that can be published in the workshop when you are done with the textures.
snoe 10 Nov, 2015 @ 1:07pm
Are updates still planned for this mod? I'd really like to make a resource pack using it.
boformer  [author] 22 Oct, 2015 @ 1:19am
Right now this mod can retexture buildings and change their color variations. More features are planned.
boformer  [author] 22 Oct, 2015 @ 1:18am
It would only be possible to retexture all concrete faces. Right now that is not implemented, but you can also do that with the terrain texture replacer.
leftbehind 21 Oct, 2015 @ 8:52pm
Is it possible to retexture the concrete driveways in front of buildings using this technique? (eg. to make them match style of road the building is adjacent to)
Daniel 20 Oct, 2015 @ 7:22am
That's amazing, please finish this mod soon. :D
boformer  [author] 20 Oct, 2015 @ 7:17am
You have to dump textures with modtools, then edit them with PhotoShop.
Shpongl3 20 Oct, 2015 @ 2:07am
How you do that? In-game*... Is there a keybind for it?
boformer  [author] 20 Oct, 2015 @ 12:41am
Yes, but right now there are no texture packs.
Daniel 19 Oct, 2015 @ 5:38pm
I can recolor buildings to look Parisian or more Germanic with this mod?
boformer  [author] 9 Oct, 2015 @ 8:35am
I will add more infos soon.
Meltedping 8 Oct, 2015 @ 7:20pm
nice idea!
