do you have the scripts available that you used on this ship. when pasting it, the scripts are not updating on the timer blocks to show accurate info on the LCDs

Me and some friends had a battle yesterday and turns out this was the only ship with guns I had subscribed... makes a great ram with the gravity drive

Hi Jeff, the new one is about 3/4 done. The original plan is to release it on the aniversary of the first one, so in about 3-4 weeks. However, with EnjoyCoke still in the Army and myself being flooded with work, I'm not sure if we will make it before the deadline.

But both of us have a vacation coming up in a month and we definately plan to get to work on the final bits :)
Captain Balu 22 Sep, 2016 @ 8:33pm

Recon  [author] 14 Jul, 2016 @ 3:47pm
The Orpington is currently overgoing a massive overhaul, a better, slightly bigger, far more detailed and improved design is coming soon!
Odusei 25 Apr, 2016 @ 10:57pm
Any chance you'll update this blueprint so that the button panels are programmed and the cockpits have toolbars?
Tzeentch's Aeldari Spirit Stones 3 Jan, 2016 @ 3:55pm
if only the lens flare and bloom effect was much more powerful in SE that first scene with the ship cruising away would have looked fantastic, someone should make a mod for that :D
Tzeentch's Aeldari Spirit Stones 3 Jan, 2016 @ 3:52pm
lol thats exactly what thought Vaintap xD

Looks like the Caldari Charon from EVE online

We've put the carrier on hold for now and set focus on the mining ship. Or ships, we couldn't decide on the size, so it's going to be 3 ships. One tiny miner, one larger small ship miner and a large ship industrial miner. They are all nearly complete, we are running final tests on them right now.

... also, I've built a giant chicken ship, fully functional in survival during the 2 weeks of buggy mining glitches. But not sure if I should post that one :) I mean, it works but I'm not sure it's something people would want to fly around in.

Hey Recon your ship is Number 7 on the Top 9 ships! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTHb_T68VCI&feature=youtu.be

Furthermore, a lot of the screen do actually just display information which doesn't need updating. Such as locations or just basic information which isn't dependant on any updates.

If you are wondering if it makes it more performance heavy, the answer is no. The script has minimal influence on your PC's performance. All the blocks, lights, buggy asteroids and weapons systems if online... well, they impact performance quite drastically.

If it's too much, try one of the smaller versions. My favorite overall is the 04 but the 03 version is actually quite neat :)

Hey Virt, the reason we used a script for some of the screens was because they show the ship inventory, power usage/recharge or another status which needs to be updated as the ship is used.

For example, some of the screens will show how much ore there is currently in the cargo hold. This number will wary a lot depending on how much you mine or if you chose to transfer it to another ship.

The script is needed to display the information. The timer block, pings the ship constantly checking for updates. So if you were to deposit 2321 Iron Ore into a cargo container on the ship, a timer block is pinging that cargo container every second checking for updates. Once it detects a change, the script will then display it on the appropriate screen that there is now 2321 Iron Ore onboard the ship.

Another screen will then tell you that refineries have gone from Idle to Working because they have begun to process the ore.

That's how it works :)

Nice ship, I am making some modifications to it for my SP survival, one question though: Why not just have all the 'sign' screens simply display text on their own instead of using a script? I am sure there is a good reason, I just cant get my head around it! :) Cheers
GalaxyMaster1 24 Oct, 2015 @ 6:24pm
Love this ship cant wait to see what else you create!!! keep up the great work :D
Recon  [author] 24 Oct, 2015 @ 12:52pm
The script is a "code" that you put into the programable block. But once it's inside the block, anyone who copies the block, gets the code.

Basically, it's as simple as writing a text on a LCD screen saying "Chickens are fat". If published or simply copied, then when someone puts it in their world the LCD screen will still say "Chickens are fat".

So the programable block holds the code for all the various information that can be displayed. In the public title, the desired specific information is selected. Then a timer block refreshes the information constantly so that it is updated nearly in realtime.

That way, you don't need to download any mods :)
Malakark the Pyromancer 24 Oct, 2015 @ 12:47pm
Is it a mod in this script or is a script unmoddably modifiable? (As in, editable withoud mods out-game)
Thank you =-D
MongoTheRed 24 Oct, 2015 @ 5:48am
I know this is not a simple question... How did you create the status screens that show all of the materials you currently have in the ship? I love this idea, and with your persmission would love to implment it into one of my own ships.

It's very homeworld-esque in design and shape. Love it.
LeftyLucy 23 Oct, 2015 @ 9:58pm
I don't get why this is so special, I mean, it is big, but the shape isn't very creative. Sure you did alot of work on interiors and such, but I just don't get why it is this popular.
_Salty 23 Oct, 2015 @ 8:43am
man this thing is awsome +1

Ok thanks! Btw, I like the sectionlike design!
Carkoth 22 Oct, 2015 @ 9:17pm
Should I make them larger maybe?
Carkoth 22 Oct, 2015 @ 9:16pm
I need some advice. How do make people notice and / or like your ships more? Thanks! (Not trying to steal your thunder)

Hollenwülf-TTV 21 Oct, 2015 @ 2:38pm
This has a very Eve/Homeworld inspired look. The chassis is basically the Charon, but the paint scheme is obviously that of Hiigara's (In HMW2). Well done!
BRRM 21 Oct, 2015 @ 11:15am
1 thing i love about all these ships, is the character of them. the design while it is simplistic yes, but its the depth and detail of the armor placment that really gives it vitality! Very GJ! :)
ShadowLord 21 Oct, 2015 @ 10:49am
looks like a charon/rhea from eve online, nice job

Abyzmi 20 Oct, 2015 @ 8:23pm
I clicked on it and I was like "Oh! Charon from EVE!"

Not quite, but definitely looks good all the same (yes, I noticed your note at the bottom of the description. Good ship to take inspiration from).
