My copy of this tree I've had forever got deleted from my game somehow and every one of these trees in my game was gone. After I found this again, I have resubscribed. Love this tree. Don't mind having to put them back. I had used way too many for one city, anyhow. Thank you again.

Hi Ston3D. Your tree is the star of the map I just published. There are some really nice close-up photos of your tree on the map listing, so please feel free to use any of those images that you like https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=553853086

This is so great i might just use tree replacer 1.1 to replace all the vanilla cherry trees with your version :)

Shroom, thank you very much!!! I finally got some free time to try your advice and figure everything out (I'm very new to Max and trying to learn something) and voila:

Corrected normals [i.imgur.com]
On the left is the old tree and on the right side is corrected normals with your sphere method and Slide's script.

Now I have some work to do, thanks God I have only few models published so far ;-)

Hello Ston3D, Fantastic new tree! I would like to ask what programs are you using to make your trees? I believe your using that one tiny program, but do you bring it into 3DS Max at all? I ask this because I see your trees are being affected by the change After Dark has brought with their new shading system causing dark shadows on lots of trees in the workshop. There is a way to fix that though. You have to change the normals of the tree to be more spherical.

See this example...

On that page there is a small link which leads to this tutorial...

Basically what I do in 3DS max is using the script "Slidenormalthief" which you can find on that second link. Then after installing it you can make a sphere cut off the bottom half and then use the edit normals modifier on each object. Then you select the sphere as the reference and the tree as the target and it will apply the spheres normals to the tree and completely remove the bad shadows. If you don't have 3DS Max you could look for alternative ways to do this Im sure. including editing them by hand which would take much longer to do though.

Thanks for making some cool trees! :chirp:
