Needs update for small batteries.

This mod works fine for me, use it all the time, but there are several other mods that do this too.

Im using this mod and it doesnt work. i still get scrap from Vanilla Batteries

you have fixed the game

well thats like the glass they ruined it from being clean tinted glass to oh the space engineer's are hitting it like a flock of birds look the ruined the batterys by making you loose all your power cells in grinding them down which wouldn't be so bad if power cell where just iron but they are not so you loose materials in grinding them down

The engineer is 2 stoopid to cut down his batteries properly. Damned, KSH!

@StormCloud, This doesn't affect, but won't conflict with, other mods.
ChakatStormCloud 21 Nov, 2016 @ 8:12pm
Does the mod also work correctly on batteries added by other mods, like RB Compact Battery by RavenBolt ?

I love you! xD
I haven't played for some time, and only just now got hit with this, thought it was a bug, then found out it's actually the worst feature they've ever implemented >m<

Just tried it today.. and wonder why I waited so long. Thank you for this! :steamhappy:

I prefer this to the depleted power cells version because with anything other than the old behavior it is impossible to hack a battery without going back to an assembler or filling up your inventory with power cells in advance (and that'll maybe let you do a single battery).

What they really should have done is created a new battery type with new components, "pre-charged power cells", which cost extra energy to produce, but grinding those converts the battery to a normal type as soon as it becomes incomplete (which causes current batteries to lose their charge), and returns normal power cells. That way people could still blueprint "pre-charged" batteries, for use in auto-loading missiles and such...

Hmm, alternatively they could make something that's actually intended for use as a one-time power supply instead, and can't be recharged, making missiles cheaper on material components as well as solving the issue with hacking or moving regular batteries.

Glad to see someone had the sense (and ability) to put the batteries back to how they should be. They shouldn't have a charge when made and shouldn't disassemble to something other than what they're made of.

yep

oh happy day! This old way of doing it made sense. You used batteries to build an energy reserve and backup, not to grab free energy. Of course, starting batteries partially charged is great for the automated torpedo spam type designs, but I'm thinking of long term adaptability in the deep black, not chucking torpedoes.

glad this power cell problem wasnt hardcoded otherwise my mods would be a problem for players as well :) got this mod anyways so my normal batteries don't have the problem

appreciate this, it's not balance when only power cells are turned to scrap. I actually prefer starting my battery at 0%.
