The bind is now added to the Left/Right D-pad! I will improve it more once I get home. Gonna update the bindings legend image here on the workshop and I will probably move the Subtitle bind to the Right D-pad instead of the B button and keep the Audio change at the Left D-pad to make it more organised.

In my opinion you could bind the function to the horizontal D pad buttons, at least those are currently free. Other than that this mod seems pretty solid. I use it almost every day. :)

KubanitoS, that is certainly doable! Do you have any suggestion for where I could put that bind?

Hey, thank you for this awesome mod. It works like a charm. The only thing missing is the button to change the spoken languages. Could you please add a key binding for that?

I really have no idea why that is happening. Everything is working just fine for me. It only skips video if I hold the Back button and then press a trigger.

Something you could try otherwise is to rebind the buttons in Controller Compaion to make them work for you. If you can't edit subscribed presets then I could send you how I bound everyting.

OK, i swapped the inputs for the jumps. Now the triggers make 4 seconds jumps, which is excellent :).

But I cant change the shoulder buttons. They always mean 'skip to next/previous video"

Now, the triggers make a jump of a minute (which is CTRL+LEFT or +RIGHT

"really short jump backwards" = SHIFT+LEFT
"short jump backwards" = ALT+LEFT
"normal short jump backwards" = CTRL+LEFT
"large jump backwards" = CTRL+ALT+LEFT

Now the shoulder buttons are NEXT or PREVIOUS (I think)

I pushed an update a few days ago that instead to doing Play/Pause on Y it now does a Space command which is the short command for Play/Pause in VLC so that should no longer be an issue.

But could you go into Tools - Preferences - Hotkeys in VLC and tell me what your keybinds are for Very short jump and Short jump?

upgraded to 2.2.4, which is the latest. It didnt change anything. Just make sure itunes isnt open otherwise you cant pause/play the video with Y.

I'll do some testing tomorrow but it should work with 2.2.1, have you changed any binds in VLC? Have you tried pressing just the shoulder buttons without holding the Back button?

yep the codecs are missing from windows itself so it is not the fault of any of the 3rd party players.

Oh, I didn't know it affected all players.

It's been a long time since I needed codecs since I mostly use digital media now but I always used CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack) when I need codecs and it might be worth giving it a shot. You can find it at http://www.cccp-project.net/

I have both regular and portable vlc. neither add codecs to windows though. I need one that comes packaged with codecs as microsoft removed them, just as i stated in the previous post

VLC is capable of playing both DVD discs and unecrypted blu-ray discs it also comes with all necessary codecs. In my opinion it's the best media player out there. You can download it from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

actually Microsoft pulled DVD playback as well as Blu-ray, licensing with Sony is the reason. in win 7 you could play DVD if you had media center, in win 8.1 they simply refused to pay to license DVD playback. i am looking for something that is packaged with the codecs needed

Mercy Knight, this won't give you anything except for shortcut binds for your controller that you use with Controller Companion.
That the creators of VLC would remove DVD and Blu Ray playback in later versions sounds really strange but if it's any help, try downloading an old version of VLC.
