i'm about to make my first animation with your models, this is exciting :D
I am no longer workshopping, and my workshop is content frozen, meaning I won't be making any changes to these submissions. Sorry.
If anyone wants to make an interior for this vehicle and reupload it, they are welcome to do so.
For lights:
1. Add a light.
2. Set that light's color to red.
3. Turn on "volumetric" for for that light.
4. Adjust the size of the cone if you want a tighter siren light.
5. Move that light inside the siren and rotate it.
6. Attach the light to the siren's light bone, so you can animate it rotating.
7. Copy the light and rotate it 180 degrees, so you have a light in the other direction.
For glow:
1. Set the skin for the siren to the first skin.
I haven't worked with this model, or in SFM for multiple years, so these instructions may not be accurate.
veh_belair.mdl
veh_belair_police.mdl
prp_police_siren_light.mdl
If they aren't showing up, it's likely a download issue with SFM. Unsub and resub to refresh the download.
thanks
and cars
As for the errors:
.vtx errors are just warnings that SFM spits out for just about everything. It's mainly due to the fact SFM is using an older version of the Source Engine.
The other error, ".vtf.vtf" is a weird and obscure error that is also an issue when using an old version of Source. Certain commands like $lightwarp and $envmap will not recognize that you've added ".vtf" to the end of your filepath. These commands, in SFM's old verison of the code, expect you to supply your path without any extensions. Hence, when porting from newer versions of Source to older ones, like SFM, this issue sometimes occurs.
my consol spits out:
Model file 'pyroland_protector\models\vehicles\veh_belair_police.mdl' and associated vtx files are out of date
Model file 'pyroland_protector\models\props\prp_police_siren_light.mdl' and associated vtx files are out of date
"materials/pyroland_protector/sheen_cubemap.vtf.vtf": can't be found on disk
Unsubbing and Resubbing should fix this.
The files you are missing are:
workshop\materials\pyroland_protector\models\props\prp_police_siren_light_glass.vmt
workshop\materials\pyroland_protector\models\props\prp_police_siren_light.vtf
Keep me posted. I could be wrong, but hopefully it's just an SFM glitch.
