you need to scout the area for factions to popup, all the areas are unscouted so thats why the faction dont show up instantly, this mod only removes the fog that unscouted areas are covered with, for a faction to show up you need to scout a square occupied by a faction

Probably a silly question but does this stop you from earning achievements? Trying to get faction specific achievement which I hoped this could save me some time spending hours scout the map just to see if I got the right factions i need.

MightyMouse (or anyone else having this issue, since I'm two years late to the party here,) if you just move your leader characters over there and check the available actions on turn one, you won't be able to interact with them because you haven't met them yet. If you have someone scout one of their spaces or in some way interact with them, it'll open up your normal meet and trade options. I guess it makes sense that base game behavior would be like that, but it's unfortunate.

This did not work for me. The fog was gone all right, but I could not talk with any of the factions on the Wenatchee map. It wouldn't even give me the option when I moved my leader onto their units or territory. This was the first and only mod I installed, and started a whole new game with it, so I know it is not some other mod. Anyone else have this problem?

@SlyderX

Now there's an idea. I'd imagine a good coder can be a "career modder" through patreon. A lot of indie games could use an outside dev creating new mechanics and essential fixes, and could be croud funded.

Unfortunately true, making true mods for this game isn't really possible and there's been no official assistance from the creator of the game for a while (as far as I am aware). So the only 'mods' we have are cheats... I would enjoy a guide on making custom faces and outfits myself.

Its all only cheats anyway and no real mods >.>

Ya know what I was actually going to write something awesome and give you a good praise but this damn 1000 characters bullshit isn't enough. I need way more characters to write my review. What a joke. Instead, you got this and don't blame me. Blame steam for it. Either way, dude nice mod :P Don't be afraid to put up a paypal or patreon. If your work is worth it people will donate. Trust. Just be honest with people. Tell them if my mod sucks tell me and if it doesn't tell and donate please. Give the people the choice and be honest.

Also, and sorry for the triple post, but nice mod.

Everyone figured donating would be an easier, more reliable method of supporting modders, as opposed to having paid mods.

They did introduce paid mods, for Skyrim, for about a month. Stopped doing it because of scammers charging stupidly high amounts of money for garbage. it was their attempt to give support to modders via an income of sorts.

Oh yeah, wasn't that meme on Youtube at some point as well?
The Village Idiot 8 Jan, 2017 @ 6:51am
@Mikado-hime it's a little meme started in 2014 when a rumor went around that valve was going to introduce paid mods

@ the person below me

It's been a SUPER long time since i made mods for this game or even played this game. This is totally free... Unless there's been some weird update I wasn't aware of this mod should be entirely free, without cost, play for free, etc.

I don't get how to use mods on Rebuild 3. It doesn't appear in the mod section and when I go to "Install Mod" it brings me to My Documents. How do I use a mod?
zedudedaniel 12 Nov, 2015 @ 3:26pm
ohhh ok, i was confused, because Fog of War normally means: "Places you have previously explored, but do not currently have any line of sight on, is dimmed and only shows the landscape, no units (or whatever applies)
Star Sanctioned Dreamer  [author] 12 Nov, 2015 @ 3:18pm
The Fog of War and scouting buildings are different. The Fog of War is the black unknown fog you see around your town without the mod installed. This prevents you from seeing Rival Faction Forts as well as other buildings and land barriers (hills, ocean, rivers, forests).

Buildings you haven't been to however can still be scouted, though i find this somewhat unneccessary in my own gameplay as it just takes guards off guard duty and you can still send people to scavenge or kill zombies in that area and have them do the job well. I don't see much differences in scouting the area first or going in blind. And in the event there are survivors in the building you're going to scout or do a mission in, the mission is cut short.

So in other words, scouting is up to you, this just lets you see the entire map.
zedudedaniel 12 Nov, 2015 @ 3:08pm
so... you don't have to scout anymore?
