You earn an income in the lower 25% bracket you pay taxes according to that rate.
You earn an income in the middle say 50% bracket you pay the rate for that on any money above the previous bracket. and so on.
example: If you have a regular income tax of 10%, for simplicity the average income is $100k
if you make $100k a year you pay $10k.
now lt's say you get a "wealth" bracket that's anything above average income+50% where you pay 25% and you make $151k a year. You pay $15k in regular tax (10%), plus $250 in the wealthier bracket on everything above the average+50%. You don't pay $37750 as most people think.
Not at all. Because a lower tax to a larger population base is applied more often. A lower tax on the low tax on the low income can generate a higher revenue than a slightly higher tax revenue on a higher income, but also upsets much more voters.
Simply illogical. The income gap is indeed substantial, but the population of these groups evens out that fact.
I advise people to get the Mod: Socialist reform
First, I don't thinks socialist would approve of taxing eclusivly the poor and I'm not sure that it would benifit equality either. Socialist would probably love a lot more that you tax exclusively the rich.
Futurmore, does your mod take in consideration the population in each groupe and the revenu of each group when calculating the profite? Because I find it strange (at least it what we can see in the image) that every group produce the same number of money if taxed at 46%. I think that other factor also influance other taxing method in the game.
Also, taxing specific group should probably increase the tax evasion a lot more then normal taxation (the even taxation have a lesser evasion rate then the normal taxation in the game).
