Probably. Note: I haven't tested this mod in years, so use at your own risk.

Loving this mod, but I am a noob. Can I run other mods with this? Do I run it in a custom game? (hangs head in shame)

@SpaceWolf You'd have to place it in manually with space master, the existing planets in this world won't change based on any planet mods.

Dumb question but if I used a custom planet would it show up on here?

@chrisb The physical sizes are the same, all that is changed is the gravity and location of them.

Hi

What size is your earth like planet in-game km's ie 120km or..
Thanks.

Any tips on what to edit in the config files to change and fix the gravity fields? I'd like to perform a similar edit to my moons map.

@Grimson I'd be nice to list your altitude and speed. The more information the better, I'd like to be able to create a formula for this kind of thing. One big issue we do have, however, is that altitude changes depending on what area you're over, because the in-game altitude system uses distance to the ground. I suggest we place a GPS point at the center of the planet ("Earth"'s one would be 0,0,0) to properly judge distance

Any tips on successful orbiting? Does the artificial horizon display help? I've never managed to get an orbit because all the navigational tools and aids you would expect in a game where you are supposed to orbit things are of course absent.

@Captain Spacebeard Lagrange u say? awsome! managed to stay in orbit with a speed mod yesterday. next. rendesvouz and docking :D

@Captain Spacebeard Let me know if you figure out how to fix the issue with asteroids! At the moment I'm just going to pretend they don't exist. Or you could pretend you have a low orbit with a small and unlimited artificial gravity generator. We're still missing documentation on these things as well, I have no idea what "MieG" means for example. Any information is appreciated!

Brilliant job! Even has a proper Lagrange point in between earth and moon, the best place to build a permanent orbital base.

Only problem noted so far is that asteroids will spawn within the outer reaches of planet gravity, meaning that you can walk on them, which looks silly.

How about following up this inner solar system map with an orbital map over one of the outer gas giants (with the actual gas giant as skybox)? I've tried doing one myself but it would work a lot better with config file edits to the gravity etc like you have done here.

@Grimson It should be! I haven't tested this myself though. Also, keep in mind that "possible" does not mean "practical", it'll be very difficult to create and it certainly won't work in multiplayer.

Nice work! . with a speedmod, is it possible to have orbits?
