Imagine complaining about a badass cannon being OP. @SSS-class Righteous Hero . This cannon is perfectly fine how it is. I don't understand why you're complaining or why you're applying real life gravity physics to a cannon that is most likely going to be used in space.

@LXIX MORARI INTERFECTOREM CDXX dont know if you have tried by now but if you havent and dont know this thing has very long reload, but it really doesnt matter much since it can delete half a ship in a single shot.

40 km range? That's gotta be a joke! The only way that could be balanced in PvE, let alone PvP, if the rate of fire was absolute dogshit and the damage barely enough to destroy a light armor block, but I doubt that's the case. Will just have to limit the range myself to something reasonable

Can please reduce loading time on your coil cannons. its a good mod i just think a faster reload time is good.

I saw this cannon on a 'Last Stand Gamers' vid entitled ' Colony Wars Hive Tyrant Ship Hunter' - it doesn't seem to be the same one. The range is grand - but the accuracy is terrible. Am I missing a newer version? Thanks.

Anyone else have the issue of it not firing? like it goes through the whole reload sequence but doesn't actually fire any projectiles. No sound or effects.

The gun has a conveyor connection underneath it. What ammo type does it take ? Or is it simply a case of not needing any and the connection is for some future upgrades ? Never used a coil weapon before.. excuse my ignorance.

so I got the warfare industries pack with the coil cannon in it, and I also got this mod, I cant find this mk1 coil cannon anywhere in the g menu but I can find the ammo for it. would the other coil cannon have anything do with it or no?

We need a version of this as a fixed weapon. Preferably one with a much higher velocity. The 40km range isn't much use if you can't actually aim a turret precisely at such distance.

The power draw on this beast should be substantially increased as well, for what it is.

Guys just use Spinal lasers. They can shoot to 30 or 40 km, look and sound bad@ss (altough the sound is kinda broken and static) and its a fancy laser that you can literally stack up in a line so they cut trough heavy armor like swiss cheese and a chainsaw.

The range is 40k, but with the accuracy of this thing you can't even hit a capital ship at 2k lol :KOh:

quikc question. is there a conveyor on the bottom? i was looking to add these to my ship yet i cannot see a conveyor port model on the bottom. if so is it in the very center of the bottom?

At even 10k away (the max range of the X-3) the drift on the rounds is horrendus. a Battery of 3 of these will be outperformed on accuracy by a single X-3 turret.

This weapon's niche was Orbital Bombardment and Long Range engagement. Unfortunately she is unable to perform in a satisfactory manner in that role.

Her accuracy needs improving Painfully so. If it is a matter of Balancing require the system to have a MASSIVE energy requirement to run, being that she is a coil gun.

in its current state the weapon is relatively Useless next to the likes of the MK. 3 Mex Turret or the X-3. Her Firerate next to her lack of accuracy at Range means she is out preformed by your other turrets in almost all situations.

Sure her Rounds Travel up to 40k away. Unless you have a very large Battery of them (Say 10 plus) all of which somehow manually controlled (I used to have scripts for that but they have since broken) You will not hit a Target 40 k away. and even then, the solution I presented is very much Indirect fire in the hopes of ONE shot landing.

This used to be super accurate, what happened? I used to be able to shoot bases from orbit (40+km in game) and hit. Now I miss a large ship at 2km... :( :steamsad:

even a stationary target, if you're off be even one degree, that will be missing by 700 meters, and im betting few people are that precise lol

Yes but normal ai distance on it i believe insanity. So target hitting at 40k nearly impossible unless stationary.

Is there any way to make this cannon not go below 0 degrees? Even with it at the edges of my ship it still once and while catched the edge and blasts it to hell ;p With explody hyperdrives it makes quiet the mess! ;) Thanks mate

And I just tried it again. I installed both the ai and no-ai versions of the base weapon mods in case it was a dependency issue, I also have the Heavy Battleship turret, but the coil gun is not there. If you can't reproduce it, I have no idea what could be wrong.

Do I need to take a screenshot to prove that it's not there? I have searched for Mk I, Battleship, Coil, and Cannon. I created a clean world with no other mods. It is not in the G menu for me.

And yes, I'm running the stable version
