i put 3 of the long fixed railguns on my ship and they blew a massive hole around where the attachment point was. im talking multiple layers of heavy armour for 3 or 4 blocks around them. any idea on the reason as i really like the look. dont think they actually fired a projectile either

@TheGamingAssassin The sound is broken, but someone made an mode to fix that (I believe it still works), however the railgun turrets are super buggy. When they target something, they aim and shoot in the exact opposite direction of the target (kinda funny actually)

Please fix this if you can, it was a cool mod, and I'm hoping to make a player made turret with it if it ever works again. Just make sure to give the original author credit and you're fine. People do it all the time after keen breaks stuff with updates.

@milord So his last update was last march and his last post was in august and it seemed like he was really done with this mod and SE/keen in general. Idk but I *think* it's safe to say that he wouldn't really care if you took this mod and fixed it. I would just give credit to him or something.

Could somebody revive this mod? It was my go to large ship weapons mod, all of the other weapons to me don't really fit the theme of SE or are ridiculously overpowered. It would be great if someone revisited the bugs and fixed them up, I would do it but I'm not a programmer in any sense

great mod but the guns are only shooting 90 degrees down from the barrel can you make it so it shoots straight out of the barrel. Other than that keep up the amazing work.

TESTED FOR THOSE WONDERING:
well fuck.... it has NOT been fixed, aka broken still.
- large gun fires sideways and the spinny bit is alighed to firing angle as if it was normall.
- small gun large ship has same problem.
- small gun small ship.. well.. thought desc said it could but apperently cnanot be used on small ship.
- turret works as intended.

also if your intention is to be 'realistic' surly the glowing would be better to a very dull red as apposed ot a bright blue to atleast lok better when NOT firing as that is how the wepon will liekly spend most of its time. also the sound effect could be abit less... arcade? so since im guessing the shotgun like 'flashette' on the railguns the navy is rolling out (nah i aint kidding) isnt possible currently for modding in se (do it if it is as a potnetial round. would ove to se an alternate ammo as you suggested that is more HE based? (explosive impact at lower impact damage, has a platinum 'fuse' like missiles do, lower velocitys and fi possible ranges)

also has this been fixed (just read comments)?

Early development for the game, and the game engine it runs on. Thats why stuff keeps breaking.

Honestly fuck the Keen fanboys that rage whenever anyone says anything remotely bad about their favorite studio or even just blow steam with the pathetic excuse "but it's beta you shithead!!!". Most of you morons know nothing of coding, modding, or the game development process. And unless they're paying you a salary, I doubt Keen needs you playing warrior to defend them at every turn. If you feel the need to constantly come to their aid, perhaps you need to reorganize your priorities.

Jump'n Shootman, sorry that your mod broke on ya. That is an unfortunate likelihood with each update but it is what it is I suppose, as annoyingly unstable as their code always appears to be. I mean, they've stayed in alpha/beta for so freaking long because their game is bloated and unwieldy; and there doesn't appear to be an end in sight, yet everyone wants to defend SE because "early development". Same ole excuse from Steam game to Steam game.

uuhhh is it supposed to shoot at a ninty degree ange to the barrel e.g straight up or to the side really hope this is fixed since ive been using this mod for a while and until this is fixed the weappons are unusuable

In regards to the turrets randomly firing into space- They're sticking to the proper elevation/angle of targets, but maintaining the opposite bearing/rotating away from target. A constant 180 degree rotation away from target.

Would you consider making this mod open source if it's no longer being worked on?

I've noticed the turrets now just constantly shoot of into space without targeting anything. Also the new art style doesn't match the turrets at all. Oh well, I don't space engineer anymore.
