Yah it could be just the design then. Try to use Boformer's tree rotation mod - that will help big time as it will actually rotate the mesh so you get a better coverage from all angles. I use it with great success. Here's the link. PS- that mod also makes all your trees rotate and it looks a lot better.

I used many however from one angle they are thin and from another they are normal.

Did you just plop 1 single grass asset? If so you're going to see some "see through" spots based on the design of the mesh and how I set up the normals. You want to use this asset in small bunches.

Sorry, but its not visible from all angles.
