its worth it to learn how to map. after making like a ouple crappy maps, i've sped up and can make basic maps very quickly, so it isn't as slow as it seems at first forever. Also, if you have friends that play, it can be very fun to make maps, play them with your friends, and change them based on what you guys notice to make the perfect map to play/warm-up before comp/bhop and surf on with your friends :)
