Aaron you should have used the thrusters to just slip out of the base then kinda float/fly out then use the thrusters facing upwards soften the landing

Courtesy of the Worm Video and a commenter who talked about a scaled up one as a base. I've begun work on the following. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=589907078 Though you might be interested in it. Ending up using this world file as the base because i'm working off of the Worm as a rough draft for assembling an even bigger worm. Not without issues and obstacles, the area might be a graveyard of fallen worms.

I have no idea how to drive this thing, and nobody here seems to be able to help anyone else with the same problem. I have watched videos on this and the sand worm and still do not have any clue how to move it.

It is remote operated if you watch the video on his channel it shows that.

you may have to "import" it into an empty world ( i had to) coz you get a "corrupt" message, so i just SEToolboxed it to get the ship
