They certainly look air worthy and that's a very key part of a action planned for next weekend. Thank you for sharing your effort and time.
The Erubian Warlord 17 Aug, 2022 @ 5:56am
the intakes no longer seem to pull in air when set to depressurize

@Tumble - Just Just asking what cant be fixed? Source code or time.
Delf 26 Jun, 2021 @ 12:32pm
I ask permission to use the models of this mod. I made hydrogen engines out of them.
Tumble  [author] 6 Mar, 2019 @ 10:29am
I'll remove the obsolete mark, since I suppose they still work. However, if they end up breaking I won't be able to update these. Sorry for the lack of communication.
Saki 15 Oct, 2018 @ 9:19am
Any chance someone could rework this one, one of my favorite mods here
Altzan260 27 Jul, 2018 @ 2:34pm
Why are these obsolete now?
самовар 22 Jun, 2018 @ 8:42pm
oxygen as fuel, HA HA
Captain Zarco 18 Dec, 2016 @ 1:29am
I have one question does this work outside atmosphere if the oxygen tanks are full?
Starship Owl 16 Jun, 2016 @ 7:33pm
@Caatalyst, just discovered this mod since I've recently dived into the solar system start. Only been playing 3 months now? So I waited and then discovered this mod. Think I'll get on that design, working on designing a flying base with these in pure survival is a pain
TheGreenWheel 11 Jun, 2016 @ 9:56am
i have the same issue with mine. i made a mothership with 8 large oxygen thrusters and about 80 small vents and that worked for me
Caatalyst 11 Jun, 2016 @ 1:27am
I can't for the life of me get the large ship version of hte dusty oxygen thrusters (with the attached air vent ontop) to fire. Whether the vents set to pressurise or depressurise they draw no power, do not even attempt to thrust on an earth like planet. Is this a bug?
Ludwichs 25 Apr, 2016 @ 8:30am
Could you make a large ship atmospheric thruster that needs air intakes (like in ksp) that looks kind of like the vertical and diagonal "windows" ingame?
Would add a lot to realism and immersion.

everything in the mod works fine for me......except the fans on the vents don't spin. how do I get them to spin
Chaos Uncensored 12 Feb, 2016 @ 8:52pm
@Caatalyst, using oxygen tanks and seting the vent to depressurize i have managed to get them all working.
Caatalyst 31 Jan, 2016 @ 6:10am
Still can't get these beautiful oxygen thrusters to work on a large ship. The vent lights are blue, I've even put oxygen tanks in the chain to see them filling but the thrusters won't fire. The thrusters with there own vents are having the same problem.
Caatalyst 26 Jan, 2016 @ 3:04pm
Anyone had any problems with the oxygen thrusters on large ships? they won't switch on. i've got power. Vents going to the small thrusters and large thrusters connected to vents on top with blue lights on but no thrust.
Dust 24 Jan, 2016 @ 12:03pm
For some reason both version apparently run without oxygen.

Tumble  [author] 19 Jan, 2016 @ 2:22pm
Oooh I like it : D
Caatalyst 19 Jan, 2016 @ 10:59am
Well I took it on myself to make a ship with the Dusty Thrusters. It's a work in progress but getting there

yeah me too : )
Caatalyst 17 Jan, 2016 @ 12:00pm
I'd love to see some ship designs people have made with this mod.
Dave 15 Jan, 2016 @ 6:54pm
Is there any chance of getting a thruster that can rotate on its attachment point? I know there is some difficulty with the game setting the direction of the engine to a keybonding and then when the engine rotates it would be pointing the wrong direction but still something I would like to see if possible. - Also, I like the style of the engine, but would like to see a style that isn't so "fat". Perhaps a little thinner in the middle and straighter! Thanks for the mod even if I don't see the things I want!
Tumble  [author] 14 Jan, 2016 @ 5:35am
regarding the wrong placement for fan, that should be fixed now
Stranger 13 Jan, 2016 @ 11:02pm
Oh, and briefly expanding on the intake fans being well-out of their sockets; it appears to only be the Large Oxygen Thruster on Large Ships. The Large variant on small ships appears normal.
Stranger 13 Jan, 2016 @ 10:59pm
That's alright. Since thrusters were affected across multiple mods, I suspect it's something to do with an adjustment Keen may have made. Until I get any more info on the matter, I'll continue operating under the assumption that the oxygen thrusters are trying to reach the ridiculous outputs everything else is, and are overhungry for air.

I'll likely begin the lengthy process of disabling suspect mods and seeing if any of those are at fault (the only one I can think of possibly affected any of this at all being the Drag/lift mod).

At any rate, I'll post any noteworthy developments.
Tumble  [author] 13 Jan, 2016 @ 6:39pm
@The Dragonborn: I checked into the slowdownfactor for the large thrusters, and they have the same amount as keen, I'm not sure whats causing your problem =/
Zankar 13 Jan, 2016 @ 12:21pm
Thanks for looking into it. Now I need to fine GAU-8 mod or convince a modder to make it so I can completely finish my A-10 Thunderbolt II inspired build.
Tumble  [author] 13 Jan, 2016 @ 12:10pm
I think the dampening is off and I will get it fixed soon
Stranger 13 Jan, 2016 @ 11:05am
I now wonder if the dampener is considering the oxy thrusters I have facing down as "on" and considers itself as using their thrust - even though they aren't outputting much at all - causing the vessel to fall. Let me know if any of this is useful to you.

One of the other thrusters from a different mod is obviously outputting FAR more than it is intended (The thruster sprite itself extends backward a good 120m, which is ridiculous). The small atmospheric thrusters of yours also appear a bit 'roided out - as just two of them were capable of rocketing a fairly pudgy small ship straight into low-orbit in under a minute. Perhaps the oxygen thrusters are trying to match that insane output, and as such aren't satisfied with the (what I thought was) default intake?
Stranger 13 Jan, 2016 @ 11:03am
I'm now somewhat convinced that this mod isn't "directly" responsible for the oddities with thrust. A lot of the mod thrusters I'm using appear to be strangely affected by something (perhaps a recent update). Did you make the oxygen thrusters hungrier? A ship that performed flawlessly before was experiencing the same issue, when I was able to fix it simply by adding a *lot* more in the way of intakes.
Stranger 13 Jan, 2016 @ 10:40am
I'm experiencing the same issue as daemonseed80. In particular, the Large Oxygen Thrusters placed on a large ship (with the corresponding air vents attached) are displaying the intake blades well-above their housing. I'm not sure if this is related, but my vessel is also descending toward the planet from a stationary hover as if not enough thrust was available to keep it up.

On the other hand, as soon as I press Spacebar, the ship is able to climb with no issues, so *available* thrust isn't the problem; the dampeners simply don't seem to want to use as much as they need. Again, not sure if the issue I've encountered with this mod is responsible, or if it's something else - but I'll be trying to find out more. My main save is screwed! :P
Tumble  [author] 13 Jan, 2016 @ 8:29am
that's gonna take some time since I would need to rotate all model and change the nozzle part but yeah, it's something i can check out
Zankar 12 Jan, 2016 @ 10:29pm
Can you add in a straight version of everything in this pack. The angled ones are cool for some builds but for most of mine and I'm sure others people's, straight would look better. Also love your helicopter and RAM jet mods.
daemonseed80 12 Jan, 2016 @ 5:14am
I don't know if I am the only one having this issue, but when I build a thruster air vent, the fan is placed above the part. Spins when fueled and powered, just the fans blades are no longer attached to the part anymore.
Solraven 12 Jan, 2016 @ 2:01am
why not make them 2 pieces. than the back can be a thruster, and the front can be a vent...
Myst Leissa 4 Jan, 2016 @ 7:37pm
@Eastman, either way - I'm betting your wrong about it being this mod, my money's on Windows or .Net - 'cuz Microsoft is known for screwing around with ****.
Tumble  [author] 19 Dec, 2015 @ 1:33pm
Good thing its sorted then : ) ty for the update
alcangel_neal 19 Dec, 2015 @ 12:49pm
It seems to be happening on both. I done some more playing around and I came to 2 conclussions 1) The way any fueled thrusters (the 02 and the hydrogen ones) behave when on a ship in atmosphere when they aren't 'plumbed' in to anything is super wierd, it's like they turn off the inertial dampners until they get a conveyor piped into them (Keens fault not yours!). and 2) apparently a modded air vent block I was using doesn't recognise that it's in a planetrary atmosphere and so doesn't fuel the thrusters, switched it to a vanilla vent and worked first time! My bad!!
Tumble  [author] 19 Dec, 2015 @ 11:22am
Is this on large or small ships? Large ship thrusters aren't balanced yet, I will fix this very soon
alcangel_neal 19 Dec, 2015 @ 11:10am
Hey. I gotta say I really like this mod, the thrusters look great, and I like the idea of using oxygen as fuel! Only thing is, whenever I put them on my ship it just drops out the air like a a lead balloon :? After some experimenting I narrowed it down to these thrustrers (specifically the 02 versions). Even when supplied with ample 02 and being covered in enough vanilla thrusters to hit 100m/s straight up in seconds, as soon as I put on of these on the ship starts to drop :( any thoughts? Also, darkangel, wtf dude?!?
Chaos Uncensored 18 Dec, 2015 @ 11:46pm
Sweet, hope to see more "Dusty" themed mods in the future. Keep up the good work:)

NICE :steamhappy:
M.B.M Industries 17 Dec, 2015 @ 8:55pm
Guess they couldn't be bothered doing any coding this week so they just stole your mod.
Illya-TK 17 Dec, 2015 @ 7:16pm
This mod seems usless now the update did this

maby they took the idea off you!

thats a bummer. anyway the mod looks very good so good job on that
Tumble  [author] 17 Dec, 2015 @ 6:00am
I'm sorry but the game won't allow to use multiple fuel Id's, so that won't work
SAkkie 17 Dec, 2015 @ 5:09am
Try making Solid rocket boosters that work with explosives
