Welcome to the Workshop. :winter2019joyfultearssnowman:
I have a ton of vanilla maps if you're looking for something without mods. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1395365887
SOMETIMES 23 Jan, 2023 @ 3:02pm
So many additional mods for just one map? Well... no, thanks.
hillfanthomlike10 16 Sep, 2021 @ 6:42am
thank you
MrMiyagi  [author] 2 Jan, 2021 @ 2:51am
Thanks! Yes, that was the main reason for me to create a redux of this map. It has a LOT more building area, and its infrastructure and design is a lot better. It's mentioned above :winter2019happysnowman:

what a beautiful map!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it would be better if it has more place to build city, most of the map was covered by mountains or small islands.
teq.cs 20 Aug, 2020 @ 9:00am

:D That can be a problem, for sure! Thank you :chirp:
¯ \ _ (ツ) _ / ¯ 15 Oct, 2019 @ 6:58am
I just want to say that such a beautiful map doesn’t want to build things on it.
MrMiyagi  [author] 1 Nov, 2017 @ 5:39pm
You got it! In case you missed it, there's a new map Paradise Reef Revisited with 2 versions: Mass Transit and DLC free. Links are at the top of my excessive description :D
Tohru Adachi 1 Nov, 2017 @ 3:24pm
Great map. Was looking for a pacific island map similar to Hawaii, was not dissapointed.
MrMiyagi  [author] 5 Jul, 2017 @ 12:57am
Odd! It worked for me, but you can find it by the search box in the main workshop page for "paradise reef" and it comes up as the second choice. It's got the same cover photo as the decorated one. Here is the link to the search in case it helps https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/browse/?appid=255710&searchtext=paradise+reef&childpublishedfileid=0&browsesort=textsearch&section=home
Perry Martin 4 Jul, 2017 @ 7:33am
Dude, free mod version map link does not work for me. Can u check it out? :)
MrMiyagi  [author] 8 Jun, 2017 @ 1:33pm
Given that there's a 75% probability of that question as a follow up, I figured I'd head it off at the pass :D Have fun!
Smol 8 Jun, 2017 @ 1:20am
MrMiyagi you're the best! Thank you for the explanation! :D
MrMiyagi  [author] 7 Jun, 2017 @ 7:31am
Hi Desiderate. Nope! When you click "New Game", there is a popup where you name your City and choose options. If you want to use someone else's theme, select it there from the dropdown. Whether you want no custom theme or a different one, as soon as you hit start, t will say "Warning, the custom theme is not installed, would you like to use a default tropical theme?" Say yes I want a default tropical, even if you intend to use someone else's custom tropical theme. Don't let the truly overly dramatic "warning!" scare you at all. I think that got lost in translation :D That will be the only time you see it. *Optional: if you chose someone else's custom theme. Save your city, quit to the main menu, select "load city" (not continue!) and that city choice window will pop up. Select again the person's custom theme, and this time it should work, no warning..
Smol 7 Jun, 2017 @ 2:48am
Beautiful map! I want to try it! But I have a question, do we really need Polynesia 2.0 No Mods Needed?
MrMiyagi  [author] 7 Jun, 2017 @ 1:58am
Glad you like it NateDog04! :steamhappy:
NateDog04 6 Jun, 2017 @ 1:11pm
This map is to butiful to build on
Rhazer 28 May, 2017 @ 2:24pm
Thanks for the prompt response, subbed to the new map, excited to play. Thanks for your work!
MrMiyagi  [author] 28 May, 2017 @ 2:07pm
Oh! It|s right here, Rhazer. It has huge changes, and it uses the new highways from the Mass Transit DLC, and a new list of items https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=928343350
Rhazer 28 May, 2017 @ 1:32pm
How is progress coming on the improved, reworked edition? Looking for a new map, this one has my interest piqued. Should I just sub to this one (and the required mods) and get going?
DangerFloof 4 May, 2017 @ 3:53pm
I was also wondering if you were going to add the same inspiration from the Harapan island map. I loved the raja ampat style landscape.
MrMiyagi  [author] 3 May, 2017 @ 5:37pm
so, just a few things :D
MrMiyagi  [author] 3 May, 2017 @ 5:36pm
Hey Iorenenick! The main island is broken up into several islands in anticipation of being able to use ferries and blimps. Each island has buildable land added to make up for the loss caused by splitting them into pieces. Then the infrastructure is much, much nicer with even grades, and a cross-channel bridge with a super smooth arc and clearance for ships to pass underneath. Different coral reefs (now using props of corals). Basically it's almost a new map, but with the familiar mountain and jungled waterfalls, which have a lot of new plants!
DangerFloof 3 May, 2017 @ 4:33pm
Can't wait for reworked addition, what will you be adding or changing?
MrMiyagi  [author] 26 Apr, 2017 @ 7:15am
Just so you know, there is an improved, new totally reworked edition of this map coming soon. I guesstimate about a few weeks. It won't require as many items as this one does
MrMiyagi  [author] 26 Apr, 2017 @ 7:06am
See the list on the right of this page? You have to subscribe to all those and make sure they are activated in your Content Manager, which is in the game's main menu. You can easily subscribe to all by visiting the collection here and clicking "subscribe all": https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=576339119How to check is by looking at the right of this page. There should be a check mark next to each
dnm 26 Apr, 2017 @ 6:01am
How come there are no rocks, reefs and so on on the map when i open it?
MrMiyagi  [author] 9 Apr, 2017 @ 2:32pm
Ah! Good! I'm glad it helped!
flyrobot27 9 Apr, 2017 @ 2:25pm
Btw if u are asking how i can put dwon water spawner in-game that is because ive subscribed the more landscapping option mod (believe it is how its called, made by BloodyPenguin) which unlocks the map editor's water spawner in game
flyrobot27 9 Apr, 2017 @ 2:18pm
Thank you very, very much. the map where my city is building on has literally no waterflow (yes, strange but true) (btw the map is called the golden gate redux) it is a real headache cuz i cannot put down sewage treatment plant. which means i can only put down purifiers which makes the city looks unrealistic. This really helps a lot
MrMiyagi  [author] 9 Apr, 2017 @ 9:35am
The difference there is how it's done. The water spawns set just above sea level will always push out water, and the toilet flush ones, set just a little bit below sea level, will always draw water in. At some point I'll do a video, but I doubt that will be soon, sorry for all the reading :D
MrMiyagi  [author] 9 Apr, 2017 @ 9:33am
Now let's show you in 3D rather than just a screenshot. Go to the mods-free version of this map & subscribe https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=576964859 . You don't need to subscribe to any of the items like trees or rocks. Ignore the popup and just hit Continue/Ok. Start the game, select Editors, then Map Editor and "load map". Open Paradise Reef, hit pause. Go find one of the water spawns. You can find the toilet flush ones via this screenshot, see the bottom left for a clue as to how to find one https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/545298547811009825/4382D3375B1729CF753EA1A8310DBD564C3CB2B0/ Now go as horizontal as you can while looking at that water spawn. Hover over top of it and see where the white overlay meets the shoreline. Now without moving, hover over a nearby water spawn and observe how it has a different assigned water height? Hover over each one repeatedly if you miss it.
MrMiyagi  [author] 9 Apr, 2017 @ 9:27am
Let's do even better than a screenshot and walk you through it. First check out a short part of the video here on water. https://youtu.be/e1WGXecIhJY?t=4m9s The only difference from this video is that you should always do this with simulation paused. Ok: At min 4:30 is where it gets interesting. Notice when they hover over the top of the water spawns, it goes white? That's the assigned water level of the water spawn. Watch as they change the assigned water height on multiple spawns to various different levels - (assign level by hovering over the spawn until you see the white overlay, hold left click, and move mouse up and down - watch the white overlay move with you). That's how you know what the assigned height is. Continued...
flyrobot27 8 Apr, 2017 @ 9:21am
Is is possible for u to take some screenshots on how it works??
MrMiyagi  [author] 2 Apr, 2017 @ 9:40pm
By having a water spawn just below the surrounding sea level, the water constantly flows towards the water spawn, like a whirlpool / maelstrom in a real ocean
MrMiyagi  [author] 2 Apr, 2017 @ 9:39pm
Inside map editor, you place a high strength (1.0) water spawn in a location that would be a good place to put sewage outflow, and assign the water spawn a level just below sea level. Water spawns not only produce water, they can also take it away. They work to maintain the water level you assign them. Hope that makes sense
flyrobot27 2 Apr, 2017 @ 12:42pm
How do u create those "toliet flush"?
Cactus727 7 Mar, 2017 @ 2:11am
HI MrMiyagi, thanks a lot i didn't know it was a default setting that allows you to buy only 9 tiles and doen't unlock the other one. gotta just to try it now. thanks for your quick response and help. your map is amazing as well as your assets. Keep creating it's amazing. have a great day.
MrMiyagi  [author] 6 Mar, 2017 @ 5:00am
Hi there Cactus727! I sure do! I've had the "Unlock All Tiles" mod (25 tiles) since the very beginning. It's got almost 200,000 subscriptions and it's never given any problems. Don't go with 81 tiles mods, because they always have problems for technical reasons that I don't understand,. So, if you're nervous about adding a mod, if there is just only ONE mod that you ever feel comfortable subscribing to, it's gonna be this one! https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=403798635
Cactus727 6 Mar, 2017 @ 2:48am
hi great map but i can't unlocked more than 9 tiles in the game and already more than 100000 people there. no extra lods than for the map used. any ideas???? thx
PixelPop 3 Dec, 2016 @ 5:01pm
yep it worked ;)
MrMiyagi  [author] 3 Dec, 2016 @ 4:40pm
By the way I'm making little incremental changes to the map theme across the next days. You will notice some color and maybe a few lighting and texture changes. I have no choice but to do this, so bear with me and the changes :)
MrMiyagi  [author] 3 Dec, 2016 @ 4:39pm
Please tell me that means it worked! :D :D :D If yes, HurrahhhH!!!
PixelPop 3 Dec, 2016 @ 3:27pm
THANK YOU! i love this map so much!
