In advance, there are a few important: if you use a program like Vegas (it's the only I used and the only I know where this problem occurs), after editing and rendering the audio file, get the file to be converted (there are a lot of online great conversion tools, but you can try download some other also) again by a specialized converter tool and get the frequence of the audio to be 44100 Hz. If you only render the audio file in a ogg or wav format in Vegas but forget to convert it again, it may not work in the game (and this gave me a lot of headache the first times I was modding, I assure you haha). Also, when extracting a existing modded vpk (or even the standart game files), you see that this vpk library tool program will always show that the first folder is something like "root", and after this there will be like "sound" , et cetera. Root is the name the program give to the vpk, so, when modding, just rename "root" as the name you would like for the vpk

If you get some trouble making the mod, don't be shy to ask me. It's 2 years since I stopped modding (and I think all my mod tools - and my "mod" folder, where I left all the files, names and folders of mods I've made, and so, whenever I wanted to make a new one, I would duplicate the archives of one mod I've made before and replace only the sound files, to get the folders and files's names right - all my mod folder and tools are in my external HD, and I'm a bit lazy to search for it now...) but I sure can remember some things and the most problems I faced

hmm, I truly don't remember. But you can download a win/lose sound mod kinda like this, use that program (which I don't remember the name also) that open vpk files (see the "How to make insurgency sound mods" topic on Discussions) and see which files we substitute to make these mods. Btw, this was the way I learned to mod: copying other mods archives and replacing them haha xD
