You do need a ship with a pretty big hangar to transport it effectively, however. Can't tell you how many times I've just about taken the wingtips off on the edges of a hangar door that was JUST too small.

Definitely could see increasing maneuver thrusters if I ever come back to the platform.

Boy is this thing handy to have on the Star System map. If you do a lot of hauling missions like I do, this little bugger is a godsend. A few modifications to the landing gear to more securely anchor it in place and you've got a great little platform to get from your ship in orbit down to the surface.
The only downside I'd list is its lack of thrusters in certain places make it clumsy in tight maneuvers.
I appreciate that it's completely battery powered, so as not to leech valuable uranium from its host ship.
