@Mr.Redcomet

I thought it only plays slower for people with lagging issues; I never had lagging issues and they sounded pretty similar in-game to the original files. Basically I made my own private sound pack (for my own use, not shared with anyone or on the workshop) which I made by downloading all of the sound packs and choosing the individual best files for each sound (i.e. your pack for Suburban Night, JP sound pack for Suburban Day, etc). I chose the sounds based on what they sounded like when I played them off-game, so I'll test them and see which ones I'll like/use. That's why I hoped you had the original sounds still, because I have no way of comparing the sounds between different packs to see what they're like :( I guess I can reduce the playback speed in VLC when trying them out, just wanted to make sure it wouldn't sound that sped-up in-game because I've never had that lagging issue before.
Mr.Redcomet  [author] 27 Jan, 2019 @ 6:16am
@alborzka The sound files are indeed played a slower speed in the game. It's a bit of a hack to reduce memory consumption that doesn't seem to have a too negative impact on the sound quality. Any reason why you need the original files ?
alborzka 1 Jan, 2019 @ 12:11pm
If that's related to the reduced sound files, is there any chance you could upload the original sound files (maybe as a separate mod) for those of us who don't experience the lagging issues?
alborzka 1 Jan, 2019 @ 12:08pm
For some reason the office (and hospital etc) file sounds very... sped up? Like it's being fast forwarded or played at 4x speed, is that what its supposed to sound like?

Thank you so much for this mod! You have no idea how happy it makes me that I no longer have to listen to the annoying beeping buildings and the obnoxious car honking sounds anymore. This along with the CSL Music Mod have completely changed things for me.
Starlight 28 Nov, 2018 @ 1:43am
You need a thumbnail for this
Starlight 28 Nov, 2018 @ 1:39am
This is the best mod for Cities, it prevents your ears and brains going insane after hours of playing. Good quality shit right there.
Mr.Redcomet  [author] 4 Nov, 2018 @ 4:35am
Glad to read this :)
It's a great game but the original audio just doesn't cut it if you have to listen to it for hours. A problem a lot of paradox published games seem to have (I also had to make a crusader kings 2 audio mod for the same reason)
Koyaliya 4 Nov, 2018 @ 3:18am
As a fellow audio professional who just wants to design cities in my down time, I want to sincerly thank you for making this game finally unmutable for me.
Mr.Redcomet  [author] 28 Oct, 2018 @ 12:19pm
@stmSantana Seems I duplicated the mod while upating it. The one you linked to will be removed. This is the maintained one.
Mr.Redcomet  [author] 28 Oct, 2018 @ 8:37am
Updated the soundpack.
Reduced audio file sizes which should prevent the stuttering some people have experienced.
Kron1K 22 Mar, 2018 @ 2:37pm
Serious in game stutter when using this mod/sound pack. Gone without it.
Darkangel 5 Dec, 2017 @ 6:32pm
Your dependancy of the ambient sounds tuner is outdated pls link to bloody pengins updated ambient sounds tuner.
Darkangel 5 Dec, 2017 @ 6:27pm
I could make cs audio come from all my 5.1 speakers at one stage maybe with speaker fill in realtek or something but ive tried different things but I can only get stereo from cs again and only music youtube music i can get in all speakers which is why io wont buy the latest jazz music pack because it will only come out in stereop unless someone can tell me how to tweek some settings to make it 5.1 again . If this host is a sound engineer then tell me how to do it please or does nobody know including this sound engineer promoting his mod?
bishopsblaize 23 Sep, 2017 @ 1:48pm
Would be nice if you could hear a preview before downloading the sound pack.
alborzka 27 Apr, 2017 @ 7:12am
Easily the best quality sound pack on here. Huge thumbs up! Any plans on including even more sounds, like Leisure and Tourism?
CrazyGraham 25 Mar, 2017 @ 4:29am
Will also work with Ambient Sounds Tuner 2.0
maxcar9999 23 Mar, 2017 @ 5:39pm
Video?
t1a2l 9 Mar, 2017 @ 8:17am
@Mr.Redcomet - does this work with the new version?
Starlight 11 Feb, 2017 @ 2:52pm
nvm it working already
Starlight 11 Feb, 2017 @ 12:52pm
Is the mod getting compatible with Ambient Sound Tuner anytime soon?
I really need this mod lol.
Cleavus 18 Dec, 2016 @ 7:34am
No worries matey! I know its a bad time of the year! When you get a chance, would you know a link to make a soundpack, for our New York Group, would like to make a Manhattan, not sure what sound format to use, and how to put it all together! thanks heaps man!
Mr.Redcomet  [author] 18 Dec, 2016 @ 6:35am
@cleavus @BloodyPenguin I'm afraid I won't have any time available soon to do this. I'll try to look at it when I have some time off at the end of the year but no promises.
Cleavus 15 Dec, 2016 @ 8:54pm
@Mr.Redcomet - has this been updated per BloodyPenguin's enquiry? cheers
BloodyPenguin 15 Dec, 2016 @ 4:26am
I fixed Ambient Sounds Tuner, my fixed version is available here . Can you please update required mod to my version (and check if sounds work fine with it)?
Lerrrtaste 14 Nov, 2016 @ 5:48am
Do a video to demonstrate the sounds.
❆🎄Douglas 🎁 🎂 22 Mar, 2016 @ 5:59pm
Thanks for this mod. Its really great.
arKtur 6 Mar, 2016 @ 12:00pm
Howdy Sir just a question do you mind to upload a small video so that people who are interested are able to hear a small sound preview.
Starlight 10 Feb, 2016 @ 5:00pm
10/10 for sound quality.
griffdog82 7 Feb, 2016 @ 8:30am
Thanks for making this mod! I have just started playing this game and the sirens are driving me insane! Now can have nicer more realistic (or american) sirens.
Mr.Redcomet  [author] 10 Jan, 2016 @ 11:54am
@imparja You're right about that it would be better to provide examples but I lready said in earlier comments that I just didn't have the time for this yet. Remember, this is a mod, it's unpaid work I made for myself in the first place and decided to share because maybe someone else would like to have it as well. I have no obligations to do anything.

I can't help you with your technical issues. i don't experience this lag myself and you are the first one mentioning it here. As this is just a sound pack and no code was written by me I'd have to direct you to the creator of the ambient sounds tuning mod. This pack uses quite a lot of memory though so maybe it could create issues if you have a small amount of RAM or already loaded a lot of other mods at the same time.

And discussions about taste are never useful. The police in my area just happens to sound like that... ;)
Verullus Forgefire 10 Jan, 2016 @ 3:03am
First, do not upload a sound file unless you have an example so people can listen to it, since 159 MB is really a big file.
Second, now I have tried to download this file to be able to listen to the different sounds.
The sound pack gives my game some lagging issues. Police cars, Fire trucks and Ambulances sound like an old Gameboy game, rather annoying to listen in a long run.
To be honest, the Metropolitan Sound Pack and the regular in game sound is much better than this sound pack.
Mr.Redcomet  [author] 6 Jan, 2016 @ 11:08am
@blackflag That would indeed be great but unfortunately isn't implemented in the game. The audio implementation of Cities Skylines is quite barebones but that's something that a lot of unity engine games are suffering from. To do the things you mention more extensive modding would be needed or maybe even reimplementing the audio from scratch. The Ambient Sounds Tuner mod only replaces the already existing audio elements and allows some basic mixing. So great ideas but not possible for now.
shoudo 6 Jan, 2016 @ 10:36am
Yeah turned it on, my question was why it was turned off, and then i wondered why my Waterfall doesn't make a real noise when water falls down over some cliff's. That would be nice if water could "really" fall, spread and foamed.
Mr.Redcomet  [author] 5 Jan, 2016 @ 11:32am
@blackflag nothing was changed regarding the water sounds. Did you check the volume slider in the Ambient Sounds Tuner menu ?
shoudo 5 Jan, 2016 @ 11:06am
Do you turned the Water sound of by default, I was wondering why my waterfall doesn't make some noise.
Nordhal Lelandreau 4 Jan, 2016 @ 12:28pm
Also this one is perfect for commercial zones: http://www.soundsnap.com/tokyo_shopping_street
Nordhal Lelandreau 4 Jan, 2016 @ 12:26pm
i mean this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGQ7leJTNc0
Also japanese cities have a lot of sounds, fits perfectly in a soundpack.
Some exemples
Subway with voice and jingles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXbMmDQ_Hr4
Train station also with announcements and jingles, very famous : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_4fyZPw5SY
Very polite sellers, always screaming "welcome" (fits for commercial zones) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RZ68zazEYM
Shibuya crossing with it's famous -time squares like- screens but with sounds (also commercial zones) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1pmGx82Krs
Emergency vehicles siren : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOcANuLfCWk
Mr.Redcomet  [author] 4 Jan, 2016 @ 11:57am
@ExoticParallel Yes I agree and it''s coming , just didn't have the time to create and upload a vid yet.
ExoticParallel 4 Jan, 2016 @ 11:48am
I don't understand people posting sound mods without a way to hear the changes. It's like going to buy a car with a blind fold on
Mr.Redcomet  [author] 3 Jan, 2016 @ 5:03am
@Jacques Chirac do you have an example of what you mean exactly ? Youtube clip maybe ? I could look into it for a future update. Not sure though if crossings can have their own sound files as the original game doesn't have those . But it still could be included in the general 'traffic' noise potentially.
Nordhal Lelandreau 3 Jan, 2016 @ 2:32am
Nice. Please can you make a japanese ambiant sound ? with jr announcement and jingles in stations, and the "coo coo" in crossings
Ben 2 Jan, 2016 @ 6:26pm
@Mr.Redcomet That's good news :D
Mr.Redcomet  [author] 2 Jan, 2016 @ 5:13pm
@»R1FL3R« A video is planned indeed Probably will be up tomorrow
Ben 2 Jan, 2016 @ 5:08pm
Maybe you should consider making a video demonstrating it better?
