@TechiCat You're weird.

Any chance you can make this growable? Call me weird, but I don't like plopping.

@nodread - you should get bloody penguins not so unique buildings mod. that way you can place as many as you want.

Could you make this RICO compatible? I'd love to place more than one of them. Same for several other of your towers :) Also, would upvote again if I could; it's amazing!

@c.reloaded Okay, shouldn't be any problems to add a illumination if I can extract both his obj-file + diffuse and specular textures.
As long as this doesn't mess up anything like UVs etc. I should be able to do it rather smoothly.
You had backed-up his .crp files so you could share them, right?
If so you could add me on steam and I'll take a look on everything tomorrow.

@c.reloaded That's really cool to see. I'm at this moment not 100% sure what I can and can't do regarding illumination maps to others buildings, but I'll do my best to research it.
So I'd be really happy to take the files and hopefully I can figure things out and make a decent update to the assets.

@OfficialSauron: I still have all of naskko26's buildings: http://abload.de/image.php?img=dubaiskyscrapersy6sv2.jpg
Maybe you can update them with illumination texture because until now he wasn't able to update them. He did a great job on the models and I think he would allow you to do the update.

@OfficialSauron - thanks and very excited to see your further creations. Very cool you watched my tutorial - hope it helped as that was the entire goal of posting it! :)

@Static Thanks. Yeah I'll definitely keep that in mind for everything I'll do along Sheikh Zayed road. I believe i did this building using google maps street-view as a reference which is a pretty bad and hard to use to get an idea of how the building looks.

Now I use dubai360.com which is awesome when there are cameras on-top of most of the buildings. So any new buildings I'm doing will hopefully look as identical as possible in both scale and textures :)

@OfficialSauron It still looks really amazing, just remember for future reference, at least from what I've observed in google street view and lots and lots of pictures: all the buildings along Sheikh Zayed road at the very least take up an exact 4x4 plot in the game (like your Aspin Tower asset you uploaded). With some variation like balconies and extrusions going outside of the boundaries. So obviously some of them will have to squeeze into a 5x5 plot like "The Tower", and the way your Al Yaqoub and Khalid Al Attar Tower assets seem to be from screenshots. I also think Naskko's old Rose Tower was 5x5 aswell.

Also as an exception to the rule, things like the Shangri-La hotel towers, the Dusit Thani tower, the 21st Century tower, and pretty much anything past the Khalid Al Attar Tower to the north, like the Park Place tower, are wider than just 4x4. Not that I'm implying you'd make any of those, just as a point of reference.

@Static I've used geo-location for the fondation of all my builds. But sometimes it's hard to tell what's a shadow and what's the actual building from those images and I guess in this case I might have confused a wall with a shadow.
And yes, it took a freaking long time to replicate that maze... This was my second or third 3D model ever and was done right before After Dark was released. So I had to do was re-do alot to the model and textures to make it publishable.

@CannibalSwine Same as me then. I'm aiming to do 1:1 from downtown to around the lake right now and later do the marina area. One of the reasons why I started to try 3D-modelling was because I needed more iconic buildings to give my city a Dubai-vibe.

For the Marina buildings I wan't to hold off to create them when they have been uploaded ( with the exception of The Torch ) and later removed by @naskko26 which I hope soon see how much people want these buildings again.

@OfficialSauron I've already subscribed! I'm building Dubai at the moment as accurately as possible, and have been annoyed for so long over the lack of Dubai content in the Workshop.... Would love to see the Princess Tower, 23 Marina, The Marine Torch, etc... Thanks! Your work is exquisitly detailed, I love them.
Static 7 Jan, 2016 @ 5:10am
Looks a bit thin compared to the other buildings but as long as it's in the game I don't mind! I can't imagine how long it took to model the maze on the front, must have been a giant pain.

@CannibalSwine @TPB Thanks! Hope you stay tuned for more

@templeofdoom Haha, I didn't think about that. Love your work to and your Blender tutorial really helped me alot.

Almost looks like the "Eye of Sauron" at the top of the building. Excellent work! :)
