Mod broken
el.dusto18 7 Sep, 2024 @ 3:03pm
is it possible to make a version of this mod that removes the edges but only for groups of blocks on the same color and keeps the edges to divide blocks of different colors?

Feel free to make use of any parts of this mod that are still helpful
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 27 Jul, 2020 @ 7:26pm
If someone wants to put together a working replacement I'm happy to link to their version or add them as a contributor, whichever they prefer
Jolt9001 26 Jul, 2020 @ 7:32pm
Can you update this? It appears to me that the new update to the game has broken this mod. I don't know what it is, but if it's only happening to me, then I'll try to find another workaround.
Menz Agitat 28 Feb, 2020 @ 7:33am
Still working as of feb 28th 2020, must apply Pyridoxal's workaround though.
Great mod !
exlesnick 20 Jul, 2019 @ 1:39am
@Pyridoxal you're breathtaking
Pyridoxal 24 Jun, 2019 @ 6:08am
No sign of armour edges for me after that workaround. https://i.imgur.com/cwxhdDK.png
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 22 Jun, 2019 @ 10:20am
Strictly speaking it doesn't remove the edges, but replaces the edge model with an invisible one.

I haven't got the game installed (and haven't played it for over 3 years) so I can't test that fix, but I hope it continues to work.
Pyridoxal 21 Jun, 2019 @ 10:48am
It seems like I found a solution to this mod not working. Removing old shader cache.

Do this with no game running - press win+R, type %appdata%, navigate to SpaceEngineers folder and delete ShaderCache2 folder. Run the game and load the save with this mod enabled. Game will generate new shader cache as you play.

Second thing - due to how this mod works (removing edges instead of replacing blocks) is that you need to have it loaded with every world you play. Switching between worlds with and without that mod loaded may cause problems. If you need to do so, you need to remove shader cache inbetween.

I can confirm no longer works now. A sad time. =/
CDR-Bobcat 6 Jun, 2019 @ 4:49pm
Mod no longer works... im very sad now.
seba 7 May, 2019 @ 9:23am
Still works and it took my CPU usage down to <20% from 60-70% so that's just awesome.
Thank you very much.
philelliscop 20 Apr, 2019 @ 6:33am
Great Mod, worked after a shut down and restart
Jedi G 3 Apr, 2019 @ 2:24pm
*EDIT* Never mind, it still works, it just takes a bit for it to start working.
Jedi G 2 Apr, 2019 @ 3:52pm
This does not seem to be working for me at the moment.

The Governor:
This mod is currently working perfectly on my single player world right now. It did not the first time I reloaded the game with this mod installed; but the second time I loaded up space engineers the mod was working and all my ugly armor edges were gone. It is just an incredible, night and day difference to the aesthetic of my builds.
Nitrogameace 10 Sep, 2018 @ 1:04pm
any luck? on the fix stone
Bloodsifter 8 Sep, 2018 @ 11:36pm
Update: After playing for a while apparently the armor edges are gone now. Maybe I just had to wait for the game to go through and reload all the loaded textures?
Bloodsifter 8 Sep, 2018 @ 8:32pm
This Mod is still not working in September 2018, and I have not been able to find another working armor edge removal mod. Please try to fix it; I know it is probably a complicated fix after KSH's latest patch that broke so many mods, but I know I speak for much of the community when I say I cannot stand the unclean armor edges breaking up the flow of the lines in my ships.
Thank you.
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 30 Jul, 2018 @ 7:25pm
I'll reinstall SE tonight and see about finding a fix
VelxraTV 29 Jul, 2018 @ 7:08am
any word on a update fix? I cant stand armor edges, makes no sense.
IronMan9904 19 Jul, 2018 @ 8:42pm
the update broke this
infal 14 Jun, 2018 @ 11:52pm
Nice one! I made the original Armor without Edges years ago but lost interest in the game due to bugs. I'm getting back in to it now that things are more stable and thought I was going to have to make exactly this mod. Glad to see someone has already done it! Works perfectly! Thanks!
CID 24 Jan, 2018 @ 10:50am
great, grids don't look like a giant chess board anymore :steamhappy:
CaptPatrick01 25 Sep, 2017 @ 2:25pm
As this one just makes the edge model invisible... I think this one will pretty much work forever, and with anything.
Dark_453 1 Jul, 2017 @ 4:42pm
This IS STILL WORKING 1/7/17! And is Still From Searches MOST up2date / working.
Dark_453 26 May, 2017 @ 8:58am
Thanks alot man, Most other mods of this type are broken or de'funked. Im guessing because you mod the code it will work till they change that, any chace you could make a tiny change.. anything.. so it shows as updated- would help people looking for most upto date things-.
RKR_Lodebeard 13 Mar, 2017 @ 4:02pm
It took about 20 minutes of playtime and this became one of my favourite cosmetic mods of all time. Thank you!!
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 12 Mar, 2017 @ 12:15am
I don't have such a version. This mod redefines the armour edges to use a blank model, so they're still present, but invisible.
Now I don't currently have Space Engineers installed to check, but I suspect that even if you did add those edges, they wouldn't disappear correctly when you have multiple pieces joined together.
JustRyan 11 Mar, 2017 @ 5:15pm
Is there a version of this that does the opposite and adds armour edges to the 1x2 blocks?
Nikolas March 19 Jan, 2017 @ 5:02pm
NICE!! :D
Avardent 23 Jun, 2016 @ 3:06pm
Really good!
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 22 Jun, 2016 @ 2:54am
This should be compatible with armour texture mods like camo removal.
Connor 21 Jun, 2016 @ 6:52pm
you should make a no camo version of this, and/or a no camo mod but with the armor edges in case people like the armor edges for some reason
mrbojinkles 3 Feb, 2016 @ 11:05am
I prefer the camo stay. I use light armor for bulkheads, and heavy for exterior protection. If I put down a project for a while, it becomes a bit confusing where I used heavy armor and where I didn't. Great mod friend.
dRuPpI 22 Jan, 2016 @ 4:50pm
can u mak it "no Cameo" too? than it would be perfect :)
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 20 Jan, 2016 @ 10:07pm
I just tested the online version on my end and it works fine. I guess the workshop's having issues (like it always does).
broken 20 Jan, 2016 @ 9:56pm
In my mod's list your mod comes up as a red number? but still works?
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 20 Jan, 2016 @ 7:31pm
What?
broken 20 Jan, 2016 @ 4:23pm
Mod is red bro?
gornyakmaniac 17 Jan, 2016 @ 5:14am
Very good mod, and compability with armor mods is very good, thanks for yout job. I'll add it on my server where I use custom armor blocks
void catgirl rglx 15 Jan, 2016 @ 10:26am
