Digi's mod came out: Jan 13 @ 8:06pm
Sooo... Technically this is the first working ladder mod.
Digi's are just scripted to actually allow for straight up and down climbing. Which is not an easy task.
Never discourage someone from doing something creative. It's in poor taste.
Keep up the good work K4tniss
@Dwarf-Lord Pangolin and @danlovejoy: thanks!
@Sarantis. a) I say exactly what it is in the description. b) They're ramps with the model* AND texture of a ladder =P
ALSO: is the description not showing for anyone else? I think steam workshop might be derping again...
As such, if I break the 2x1 slope into two 1x1 blocks as I had planned you'll only "stumble" twice as often when climbing. The only "fix" I've found to this is sprinting up the slope seems to be a bit smoother, or using the ladders horizontally which is somewhat unintuitive.
I'm still not sure what I want to do to fix this or to alert players in-game, so any ideas on your part are welcome, but I'll try to figure it out in the next week. I'm also not sure what this means for the small ship blocks many of you had requested, which appear to have the same issue except magnified because block junctions are every 0.5m.
Thanks!
This is pretty cool though and hopefully alot less buggy
He allowed my to use the code from his Concrete mod, for my Soil Toll mod.
He is a great developer.
In case you would be interested in it, take a look at Digi's new ladder mod.
It is an actual functional vertical ladder.
I am sure he would allow you to use his code, if you ask him.
-Added a small ship block, same size and cost as large ship block
-Reworked components
-Fixed Mirroring
No, I meant a not angled and modular version. By "modular" I mean that it should be like one "square" of the ladder so we would be ablo to make ladders as big as we want
