As long as this mod allows you to play until the year 9999 then it's still technically working but I'll need to modify it to get rid of the earlier start date so that it doesn't break someone's game. This one will remain 9999 but I'll give the other one a different name with 9999 somewhere in the title.
Any idea ?
Not sure why the mod didnt trigger and only manual alteration of the default Defines did it..
But this could be my fault.. I been running the same save for over 450 years, and taking some 300 hours to do it over a number of RL years.. so with updates over time, and now my having to lock in ver 2.7.2. this may have created some type of conflict..
In any case thanks for pointing me to the defines file.. :)
I started a new game using each mod indepently to find the culprit.
roman legions went from 11250 men too 100000+ men
with a price of 44gold per month too 400+ per month
This happened to all groups except nomad mercs.
changing starting point back to 1066 fixed this.
thanks for the mod
As long as it's not breaking any mods then it should be fine. I don't think that it would but if it does then I suggest temporarily disabling the mod and reporting it here. That way I can check it out myself.

Not sure what you mean. My modded defines.txt looks exactly like the one for the current version of the game besides the end date. I don't have the two newest expansions though so I don't know if there's a difference.
This is what the contents of the vanilla defines.txt looks like on my side.
