I use an add-on that displays a grid of any object. Then i played wih the collisions (basicly disabling every prop"s colisions) and added propellers.

Haha good question; see, there's some vehicles in HL2 , and people who have the game can add them in Garry's Mod.
I don't own HL2, but they sometimes upload them.
