I like this so far, but for some reason not all of the advisor text is replaced with theirs, leading to out-of-character moments where Temmie is speaking fluently in English.

It's not working for me. Is there some sort of compatibility list?

I love the idea, but let me alter it a tad. What if we do what you say, only we change their pictures not just based on the era, but also based on your ideology. Freedom would be Pacifist. Autocracy would be Genocide. I don't really know what to do with order. Maybe we can switch to different characters as well? I love the idea, and I would also like to ecourage the creator to consider the same as well.

I haven't played the mod yet but what if you could change they're appearance based on the era of when the game changes the originals. Like for mettaton you could start with the original then ex then finally neo. alphy could start as as gaster then soon into alphy. Undyn could be what she looks like after going to her house in the pacifist run then her royal guard armor then finally Undyn the undying. Temmie... is temmie.

Don't know what's going on as far as updates and whatnot but I tried this. As for my opinion, I think Muffet and Toriel (in screenshot) fit the roles you put them better than Mettaton and Temmie. Since Toriel actually had relationships with human beings and tried to empathize with you, she fits the bill for "foreign advisor." And while Temmie is cute (and college educated), Muffet really knows how to shake down money. Just my two cents.

Sorry it's taking so long to actually make this, I have to study for finals.

So far it seems like it splits around this way.

Mettaton:
+ More entertaining, less generic.
+ Would probably care about his adoring allied city-states.
- I don't know what he would say besides throwing in a lot of "darlings," "oh yes"es, and leg jokes.

Toriel:
+ More generic, so I could probably use default lines if you really want the update to come out soon.
+ Would probably care about the poor small allied city-states.
- Being more generic makes her more boring.

Why not Mettaton as an advisor? His brand is on everything, he seems like he could be a financial advisor. Or perhaps a diplomatic advisor, since his goal was to be a megastar in the human world.

One one hand, Goat Mom has no lines. On the other hand that means I don't have to rewrite a bunch of lines.

I think Goat Mom should be Foreign Advisor, Mettaton doesn't really fit the bill for me especially considering that Asgore and Toriel are close (To an degree), if anything you could make seperate mods of this to fit both sides.

There are indeed homosexual characters in Undertale, and I see no problem with that

on a scale of 1-10 on how gay undertale is, 1 being not gay, 10 being gay, undertale gets a 10

Luffy, denounce Hatsune Miku, all while fly around in my steam-powered airships as me and the Illuminati march into battle as I sit in my Commander's chair on the airhship as Toriel whispers into my ear "Be *bad* my child." I wouldn't exactly see Mettaton as foreign advisor compared to Toriel, but I would see Temmie being the financial advisor. Undyne makes sense as war, and so does Alphys as science..... or Gaster..... [Please, perhaps in Wingdings even].

Seconded for Mettaton. He'd fit the Civilization ethos a lot better than Toriel, if that makes sense.

Awe but I like Temmie... Come on, all of us enjoyed Temmie, Temmie burnt herself in our memories forever in Undertale. But yeah i could see you keeping Muffet just because Muffet seems more... Professsional and more of a big character I want to say. But if you ever get that stuff sorted out and create a beautiful mod, let me know.

Now that you mention it, if I could find the database location of the text files, I could force them in character pretty easily. Tricky part is actually getting the character right.

I like this very much, its a fun little addition to my modded games. Would have Sans as a military advisor so he could joke about how small my military is, or say "If you don't build more units we're going to have a bad time". Still though great mod!

well it's up to interpretation really, there's at least one canon lesbian ship but i don't see much evidence for papyton, they never even see each other

Techs replaced: 1/70 or so. I still feel the main issue is that there isn't enough content in Undertale to cover enough techs/units/buildings. If you have any suggestions feel free to mention them.

I actually do check in with the advisors once in a blue moon. I find the Military Advisor gives a quick, at-a-glance measure of relative military strength (nothing detailed though). Or if I suspect I'm about to be invaded, the Foreign Advisor usually says something like "That's strange, soldiers from the So-and-So Empire are right near our borders".

That's not part of this mod, that's an Events and Decisions trigger in the actual civ.

Nice, and I also was searching through the civilopedia and found Temmie in the great peoples section.

At least Undertale has a wide distribution of technology, so I could poke out units and such everywhere on the tech tree. I might have to get some fanart, and I don't know how to ask for that sort of thing.
