I'd go for a darker feel, like an irradiated looking sky perhaps, amps up the disaster feel, plus I just like darker maps! This is still nice tho. Thanks for sharing. :nucular:

DM-Gael is UT-2004 version of UT'99 pure massacre map DM-Fractal.

The new version has two healthpacks on ground level and 5 vials on top of the crates on each side.
There were added lights near the jump pads as well so that region doesn't drown in darkness anymore.
Fixed the areas that had no texture near the jumppads and some Deacals/Details where added overall as well as an ambient sound in the centre.

Generally the players on higher ground have the advantage so I would put some of the stronger weapons and pick ups down below to give them a reason to go there and avoid camping uptop. Reakktor's first version of Artifact is a great example of this-- it had no armour shards on the lower level and the 100 armour was where the 50 is now. They adjusted the items on the map so that players have a reason to everywhere instead of just staying on the upper level.

I only tested your map with 1 bot so I'm not sure how well it plays with more players but I love where you put mega armour. Hehe.. Too bad you can't alternate pickups on respawns (at least I don't believe so--maybe with some scripting?) otherwise that spot could be for mega health and armour.

EDIT: damn, I just noticed where you put the maximum damage! Completely missed it on the first play. That's fukking sweet dude.. lol

Is there a place where you would recommend some?
I was first considering putting some on the lower floor, but there allready the strong weapons and the armor.

wow, cool map dude.. especially for 1 v1 .. But is the non existing health pick-ups intentional? Those dropped health packs never been so valuable before :D
