It's nice to see that people are using this technique to make some really cool things!

Nice job!

Drake 4 Feb, 2016 @ 12:24pm
Most lily a good idea... unless you replace all sound with music... LOL

I hope they don't fix that bug, lol. Nicely done on that hailfire droid! If you do think of a modded version I recommend the micro reloadable missile launchers, micro timers, and the precise timer script for better missile barrages. I say micro timers because they are lower profile and would draw less attention but by doing that and pairing them up from opposite sides with each timer you could make a great sequencial fire rocket barrage.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I think anybody's exploitation of bugs is absolutely brilliant. I just think that begging for new blocks wont get anything done. Since planets (actuallty, any voxels at all) don't work for me at the moment, would you care to explain how this bug works, [] Leo []?
[] Leo []  [author] 3 Feb, 2016 @ 1:03pm
@Schventagon I think you sir made a good point, but Void made a good one too. I see that there is a challange in building creations as mine with the tools we have but it has to be also said that i HAD to use a bug to make this work, thing that doesn't make me proud because it highlights how the engineering blocks in the game as rotors and pistons are really not enough to build complex mechanical creations. It also higlights how the voxel grids are so damm tricky to work with given that they have basically no clearence and that the hitbox on small ships grids is bigger than the block itself, making even blast doors not fit at times. So yeah i think that space engineers definiteley needs more engineering oriented blocks and features, not crazy tech shields nor magnetic stuff which would be basically cheating, but better mechanical blocks ... because i spent so many hours experimenting with vehicles and stuff and every time making mechanism was a pain more than a challenge.
Schventagon 3 Feb, 2016 @ 12:34pm
One thing I must point out Mr. Void Stitch: The game's title is Space Engineers, emphasis on engineer. While some additional types of blocks would be nice, asking for certain functions, and waiting for them, is not the purpose of this game. The purpose is to engineer a solution, taking advantage of every option available. Mr. [] Leo []'s design engineers a solution using a bug, but asking for a certain function only proides one use. Instead, challenge yourself to find a solution to a problem, either by exploiting bugs, or using some cleverly placed blocks already in the game.

Happy engineering,

Well hey just because they don't like energy shields is no reason, they were nice enough to throw that wide open for the modding community.

That's what I'm digging so much about Keen, they put so much effort into not only expanding what the modders can do but even creating the tools for doing it and showing them how.

I have never seen such a mod-centric game before, and so easy to add and swap mods for either. I'm sure if they hear how much we want this they will find a way to make it happen!
Quattro 2 Feb, 2016 @ 3:37am
i really hope that bug doesn't get fixed to soon
[] Leo []  [author] 1 Feb, 2016 @ 1:17pm
Void Stitch i was actually thinking about this and yeah, as you said , some sort of creative and plausible block to make something like this normal, they can call it as they want, they can use magnets, teathers, greavitational bonds etc but if they don't want energy shields then i am afraid they won't like this one either :(
Derp & Junk 1 Feb, 2016 @ 12:35pm
Keen if you are reading this some bugs should not be fixed! Please for the love of Creativity expand upon this bug like Minecraft did with their floating sky islands.

In fact really having the ability to make floating ship elements would be just fantastic. Sure we could just use some fancy gravity cage but actually having ships that look like they are more than one thing working together would be great.

My suggestion, "Teather" blocks which allow you to bind grids together so they move in unison, "Microwave Transmiter" blocks which beam energy from one grid to another. If the "Teathers" have the ability to send components, particularly ammo, that would be perfect.

Yeah for once keen should not fix a bug haha
DeAnti 30 Jan, 2016 @ 12:25pm
very cool, hope this one bug doesnet get fixed
