Ah yes, as mentioned in the post, this was merely testing if I could convert textures. The blocks themselves are exactly the same as heavy armor. I dont know if Ill be doing anything more to this due to my move. Satellite internet is absolute crap but its all i can get. DX

Hey there can you tell me the mass of these blocks? they come up as tungsten in games I know its not perfected but it looks perfect a my borg cube surface. Is it about the same drag as nomal hvy armor blocks?

Its star trek wiki

What?
Where did you read that nonsense?

Tritanium was an ore known to be 21.4 times as hard as diamond. It was found, among other places, on the planet Argus X. (TOS: "Obsession") The ability to melt tritanium was beyond Federation weapons technology in 2364. (TNG: "The Arsenal of Freedom")

I don't think it has been mentioned really, but should such a metal exist I'd assume it would be quite strong. I think maybe it might be a real metal but at the moment I don't know if its more of an alloy or a metal of its own.

You know, i was thinking of not only completing the core blocks, but doing all the extra ramps and all. Just to get a real feel on the structure and what not. I cant answer the 2nd question for I have not seen any tritanium mentioned anywhere on SE.

Variants in 1x2x1 and 1x3x1 would be good too if they don't already exist, also what might tritanium look like vs titanium? I'm curious since I'm not sure what the real difference is between them aside from the obvious stronger durability.

If there is enough of a request, I could finish these blocks and even look into completing the collection using the above textures. I can't say its my work, and therein, wont ever claim ownership but it is an interesting unintended spinoff of the original. Just post your thoughts. Id be interested in completing just to learn but i could apply that in another project. Let me know guys!

One file I get unknown DXGI format and the other is "unsupported pixel count, taking a guess"

certain .dds files GIMP will not open, and you will need to use http://www.getpaint.net/index.html if you dont have Photoshop.
Mojo 1 Feb, 2016 @ 7:14pm
If you were able to open mine, then you should be able to open the ones made thru the converter as the majority of mine were processed by the converter...
Arstan  [author] 1 Feb, 2016 @ 7:04pm
So as a curious note, I used the converter that comes with the SDK and have learned something interesting. I can open all your textures with gimp and its DDS plugin but when I try to do the same thing with the tex's made with the converter, GIMP fails to load my textures???? Dunno, just curious

Yea, my last pc went out modding ARK, im currently on a friend's and waiting on taxes :)
Mojo 1 Feb, 2016 @ 5:30pm
and one other thing..it is very demanding on your pc, even if you have "the best" pc, every modder I met along the way, has had at least one pc go out on them. Myself included. I will be getting a new one in about 2 to 3 weeks...
Arstan  [author] 1 Feb, 2016 @ 5:26pm
ZOMFG, I didnt even know these were there (to be honest, idk why i didnt go looking for tuts), everything Ive accomplished I learned from cracking everything open myself and fiddling with it. I think what happened with mine, is the _me tex I used looks scaled for a tiled tex setup ( i hope im saying/ explaining this properly) and therein, changed the way my textures look vs originals. Tbh, its been a blast with its ups and downs learning all this.
Mojo 1 Feb, 2016 @ 5:25pm
and something as simple as a missing opening or closing bracket will keep the whole mod from working at all...lol

Between Harag's tutorial, Shao's tutorials and working with SEModder4 is how I learned the ropes to the .mwm models. I started out with Asteroids which was a ton easier to do..I was suprised once I got in the .mwm's how complex it all is.
Mojo 1 Feb, 2016 @ 5:20pm
Not sure what you may be using, but Shao makes some good tutorial videos..

Arstan  [author] 1 Feb, 2016 @ 5:16pm
yea, i learned that the hard way. many hours on the forums digging. For what I did here, I made my own mwm, im not trying to do rip offs, was just learning the texture update process. Thought to myself "All these guys crank these updates out, must be simple". HA! NOT! All the work put in now has an all new meaning for me
Mojo 1 Feb, 2016 @ 5:12pm
But with mods that are already made it is hard to do without having the original models themselves to work with, which I know SEModder4 and myself can make it seem easy. But when we get requests on hey can you make this smaller now that you updated it? Can you add this to it, without the original model files not much we can do.
Arstan  [author] 1 Feb, 2016 @ 5:03pm
Oh lol, Ive been working on getting into modding myself so I picked a few projects Id like to see done and was going to dive in head first and ask q's along the way. Lol, much appreciated m8
Mojo 1 Feb, 2016 @ 4:59pm
@ Arstan lol I already have that one done, I just havent released it he said he was close to having a new one done himself.
Arstan  [author] 1 Feb, 2016 @ 4:57pm
Now this was a simple block conversion (i say simple but i failed ha). What would be the differences in doing something like:

They do look like they did blow up in size. Sometimes it is tricky on getting it all right.
Arstan  [author] 1 Feb, 2016 @ 3:42pm
It looks like my tex is blown up in size but is functioning like the KSH tex's and tiling? It might be that I didnt follow the right pattern when I borrowed the additional textures needed for the update from the ksh originals maybe?

I can take a look into this for you. It will be later this evening or in the morning though. I am currently at work. :)
