Need to add as a required mod, "Ability to read". Nice looking, subscribed.

Going to try it with ako_ako's invisible pedestrian paths, and a parking lot at the road side.

page up doesn't get them above water, any thoughts on how I get them above water?

If possible, please update for Ploppable RICO, either tourism or residential

Great asset! It works also with "Remove need for pipes" and "Remove need for powerlines". Good job! Thank you!

Hi! I included your building here in the collection for the map Harapan Island https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=688382045&tscn=1463803133
and it's also the star of the show in my youtube video on how to make a coral reef https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXWDsAXlfuY :steamhappy:

This should be a rico asset
Elias 6 Apr, 2016 @ 5:54pm
is it possible that people who don't have after dark, might not be able to use it, because it is in the tourist section? i have AD, but i am not sure how the game behaves in such a case.

anyway, thanx for this asset. proves that the community is more creative than colossal order ;)

They're in the tourism section of the parks

I've been looking for these bungalows in my game but I cannot find them. Where are they?
cspx  [author] 18 Feb, 2016 @ 1:22pm
Thanks Shroomblaxe. I may revisit it one day as I'd like it to be a functional building but I didn't want a block on the beach like the pier.

Really neat idea, Looks well done after checking it out too.

Done!
Hendrik 13 Feb, 2016 @ 3:23am
+MrMiyagi where can I remove it?
MrMiyagi 13 Feb, 2016 @ 12:10am
You can remove "dlc required" cspx. It's not required for the building to work :) Only building categories that are After Dark dlc only (like specialized tourism) require the dlc.
cspx  [author] 10 Feb, 2016 @ 3:00pm
I'm sure it'll still work okay, have u tried it
Hendrik 10 Feb, 2016 @ 7:28am
can you make a non-dlc version mabe?
shaylathedog 7 Feb, 2016 @ 3:08pm
I haven't applied this yet but from an astetic stand point you did a good job
cspx  [author] 7 Feb, 2016 @ 5:31am
@MrMiyagi that's great. I've wanted something like this for this game for a while as I love tropical cities. In citiesXL there are modular walkways and cabins you can place on the water (a bit beyond my modding ability) . I tried pedestrian pathways but couldn't get the look I wanted.
MrMiyagi 7 Feb, 2016 @ 2:15am
I've added them to my tropical items list, and am really excited to use them for the next tropical map!

These are just beautiful!

Thats a great idea! I didn't take to Blender for some reason and ended up pushing on with 3dsmax. I expect theyre probably equally difficult - a lot of patience needed! Thanks again

Great job CSPX! TBH you have to judge the LOD based on the size - since you said this is a sort of multi-object expansive type of "building" I think you might be OK with a higher LOD than normal. Usually for a growable or something that will be on the screen a lot (cars and growables) you want a low LOD but for unique buildings and other specialty assets you can get away sometimes with a slightly higher one with causing too much attention. Nice work on getting that thing reduced by a HUGE amount of tris! It takes a ton of work to edit a model that exists already. :) I usually save a copy of my blender file or whatever 3d program when I'm just about 200 tris and then that allows me to come back to it later to tweak it without having to do so much editing.
cspx  [author] 5 Feb, 2016 @ 12:53pm
LOD redone, not quite 200 but much better!
templeofdoom 5 Feb, 2016 @ 9:35am
Awesome work CSPX - and I think you're right, those are considerations to take into account (size and plot size of building) when dealing with the LOD's. Hope to see more work from you in the future! :)
cspx  [author] 5 Feb, 2016 @ 12:36am
@templeofdoom - Your feedback has been so useful! I went back to my lod and there was more I could loose to get the tris down to 580 which sounds much more reasonable for a multi building model like this. I prob should be using sub-building enabler but havnt got my head around it yet! In the early stages I tried modular with separate parts but it wouldnt sit in the water at the same level.

As soon as Ive got more time later I'm going to work out how to update assets on the workshop and change this.
cspx  [author] 4 Feb, 2016 @ 10:54pm
Thanks for the constructive criticism. I got the lod down as far as I could but still wanted it to look right in distance views with simple roofs. I could have got lower by doing simple cubes for the cabins so I might relook at it. It runs fine on my PC but I guess this model is unusal as it has so many elements spread out which makes the lod more of a challenge. I prob should have chosen something easier as a first project but I was like a dog with a bone and had so many issues getting it to sit in the water correctly I nearly gave up!!
templeofdoom 4 Feb, 2016 @ 4:37pm
Excellent job on the decking, quality texture work there. :) Great asset and thanks for sharing. The only thing is 2k tri's on a LOD is a lot. The idea of the LOD is reduce tri's (roughly around 100-200 triangles) so that the computer doesn't spend resources rendering the building from far away. The LOD shouldn't be a high-poly object as most of the details the game will render at that distance just won't show up and it will end up "wasting" resources. Just a constructive comment and hope to see more creations! :)
cspx  [author] 4 Feb, 2016 @ 3:14pm
Glad u like it. I thought creating a model would be straight forward but I've now got even more respect for all the modders doing stuff for this game!
