for lw2, just adjust the lines around 75-79 in
*your lw2 mod folder*\Config\XComGameData.ini.

More important than ever now that LW2 updated and FUCKED at least 90% of my builds. For the HQ assault, I made it work, but what hell. My gunner no longer had demolition OR Saturation fire.

If you want to do this mod yourself with LW2, just adjust the lines around 72-76 in

"D:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\844674609\Config\XComGameData.ini"

I've adjusted mine down to 1 across the board (not instant, just not silly where you want to retrain your MSGT and it says over a month).

what about a mod that makes solider class training instant? ive been looking for one so I can more easily choose what class I want my soliders. ill dig around in the .ini file and see if i can find it myself.

Yeah, hopefully they'll fix it in a patch soon. If it was possible, I would override the code that uses those values to initialize the project duration - but it doesn't seem to be possible to override core game mechanics at the moment (only add to them). Glad you got it fixed though =)

Yep. It simply kept the XComGameData.ini with the mod parameters. Even after checking game cache, it didn't change that back again.

I went into C:\Users\myUser\Documents\My Games\XCOM2\XComGame\Config and changed from:

[XComGame.XComGameState_HeadquartersXCom]
XComHeadquarters_DefaultRespecSoldierDays[0]=0;Easy
XComHeadquarters_DefaultRespecSoldierDays[1]=0;Normal
XComHeadquarters_DefaultRespecSoldierDays[2]=0;Classic
XComHeadquarters_DefaultRespecSoldierDays[3]=0;Impossible

To the default values:

[XComGame.XComGameState_HeadquartersXCom]
XComHeadquarters_DefaultRespecSoldierDays[0]=5;Easy
XComHeadquarters_DefaultRespecSoldierDays[1]=5;Normal
XComHeadquarters_DefaultRespecSoldierDays[2]=5;Classic
XComHeadquarters_DefaultRespecSoldierDays[3]=10;Impossible

Then it worked. Seems it just doesn't revert config changes. That is sloppy mod managing mechanisms bundled in the game right there :(

I think it's a generic problem with mods for XCom 2. You may be able to uninstall mods properly by unchecking them, starting the game, exiting, validating game cache in steam, then re-checking the ones you want to keep. Though, if I understand correctly, the game doesn't even like loading a save that had a mod that you no longer have.

Update: Fixed it by going and changing XComGameData.ini in the games folder to the default values manually.

Can't disable this mod once installed. Even after disabling it and unsubbing, went to a previous save before I even had installed it and still all retrains are taking 0 days. Not sure what is causing this.

Yes. You do not need to restart the game for this to take effect.

Exactly what it says in the description...

Normally, it takes 5 days on all difficulties except the hardest one (where it takes 10 days).
