for anyone else confused,
Really hope i didn't get anything wrong
1 : Place *Remote Control Block* name "Horizon Remote"
2 : Place * Text Panel* name "Horizon Screen"
3 : Place *Programmable Block* and load this script
4 : Place *Timer Block*
in the timer block Locate *Setup Actions*
1 Set *Programmable Block* to *Run with default Argument*
2 Set *Timer Block* to *Trigger Now*
3 in the timer block Press Trigger now, Done!
But the new 'feature/un-named tweak' pretty much broke the whole point of having a HUD on my latest ship, and made it a hell of a lot harder to fly, because the pilot pretty much relies on flight data from this script to keep her flying straight on an even keel.
If you placed/renamed stuff after placing the PB and loading the program, it won't work until you click 'remember and exit' on the PB again.
If none of that works, I can take a look at it for you.
nothing shows up on text panel
though, the screen is on a rotor- the program and timer is not- would this be the problem?
I just have to find an LCD now that can hold it... xD
The display could spaz out of the remote control block is rotated incorrectly. Make sure it is oriented like your cockpit. You can double check it is correct by trying to pilot your vehicle via the remote control.
On your fighter, double check the timer settings, and make sure the blocks are all named correctly (case sensitive!). If you place the blocks after the program, just save the program again so that it can find the blocks.
If it isn't drawing the screen at all, again check the timer, and check that you have the required blocks and that they are named correctly. It is case sensitive. Make sure the text panel is set to display public text and that everything is owned by you.
Essentially, it gives me a blank screen. I tried it on another ship and it worked, but I moved the remote block and it stopped working. However, even when it worked, the display was spazzing out and seemed like it wasn't working correctly.
So pretty much it seems like I need to delete the entire system and remake it for it to work. Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work for my fighter even when I did that. I even tried switching to public display, because it worked to a limited degree on the small test ship I used it on. But no avail. :(
I'm also having trouble with the refresh rate, in that it seems much too slow. Absolutely nothing like what you have in your screenshot gifs. Is there a setting I need to adjust for that? And does this mod work with https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=400037065 this one?
