Hope you don't mind but I wanted to try and make an even lower block count version of yours and Ross's machine, and with the addition of the firework block I've done it :) Its here if you wanna have a look: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=670470094

@jennyblakey, Click the green subscribe button. Then in Besiege, you click load, click the steam logo next to the text field. Then spam-click the thumbnail of the Magnetar (it can take some time to load).

@chaunceejames, click the green subscribe button so you can acces it in-game by clicking on the steam logo in the "open machine" page. If you like it, make sure to rate it up! It was getting higher in the "most popular last 3 months" but someone downvoted it, so it's set back 3 pages :(

it looks awesome but i dont know how to download
Gabi 15 Feb, 2016 @ 8:42am
Can't remember when i got it xD probably almost a year or so
Algen  [author] 15 Feb, 2016 @ 8:35am
Me too, but I think Ross was the only one who knew it apart from me and some devs. It's almost a year ago I got Besiege :D

I actually found out the fps placement glitch on my own randomly to then figure out that it was already a thing xD
Algen  [author] 15 Feb, 2016 @ 12:42am
@Green Box, temporary blocks. I think I placed around 100 blocks while building this, I just deleted almost all of them. Ross Plavsic has a good explanation on YouTube about a tactic called "Half-spacing" and recently he has discovered quarter spacing, and someone else had discovered how to offset blocks 0.1 of a block. Combine that with FPS placement glitch, using swivel joints to place the blocks on (swivel joints are an "open" block so you can see the connection points from almost everywhere), and you can make things like this ;)

Of course, I used mods to figure out the best placements before building this without mods, otherwise it would've taken ages.

how is this made?!
Gabi 14 Feb, 2016 @ 8:29am

Algen  [author] 14 Feb, 2016 @ 8:27am

Oh, hey Algae :D
Algen  [author] 12 Feb, 2016 @ 9:36pm
Thanks Blue Mew! But you also gotta thank the debs for the new update, because the toggle mode on the spirals and the limit angles setting makes it a lot more user-friendly!
MoeMoeKun 12 Feb, 2016 @ 8:20pm
Great job bro thanks for making it, it works a lot better then most machines!
Algen  [author] 12 Feb, 2016 @ 11:08am
No problem Cormachine! I loved designing it (building took longer than expected in vanilla), and playing around with it was a lot of fun :)
Make sure to check out the Brown Recluse too, though! It's basically the same thing.
cormac⋆ 12 Feb, 2016 @ 8:24am
love it, thanks for the machine!
Algen  [author] 12 Feb, 2016 @ 7:54am
Thanks Ross! I had thought the Brown Recluse was perfect, but recently, I came across the Chicken Challenge again, played around with it and found some things that weren't fully perfect IMO. That's why I built this. I still think the Brown Recluse is one of the greatest creations in Besiege history, that really altered the way Wall-Climbers were built.

I know that it can with a grabber and a bomb on top, but then it's harder to finish zones like the Duke's Scouts and the Duke's Freighters. That's why I wanted a version that could still (relatively) easily do those, and have a bomb.

I can't wait for a better multiplayer mod so we could race against each other with these!

i had just opened my BesiegeDownloads page when you posted it...

The ability to drive upside down is really helpful for getting back upright! With the Brown Recluse, you have to fly up & use the reaction torque from the wheels to turn yourself back upright, which takes a bit longer.

The narrower stance makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces without getting hung up on obstacles, which is helpful in the chicken challenge & the drifting challenge. The drawback I see is that it has a greater tendency to tilt to the side when flying, which precludes long, controlled flights like Brown Recluse did at the end of its first video.

I do want to make a correction: the Brown Recluse can beat all the zones. It can beat 26 of 30 as-is, & the other 4 (that require a bomb or a water cannon) with the addition of only 1 or 2 blocks.

Also, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but...

That said, the Magnetar does have some unique perks, & I'm happy to have it as a companion to my Brown Recluse! :steamhappy:

@King Tsunami How can blind people use computers?
Jörf 11 Feb, 2016 @ 1:11pm
The title states that the vehicle is armed, but I see no arms.
Algen  [author] 11 Feb, 2016 @ 11:49am
@The Original Hugster, the only thing I find better about the Brown Recluse is that it steered a little nicer, but that's broken in the new update. In what way do you think the Brown Recluse is better? Because I really tried to improve the few things that weren't perfect about it.
just_icy 11 Feb, 2016 @ 9:57am
I thought the brown recluse was better?
Algen  [author] 10 Feb, 2016 @ 9:43pm
@Gardevoir, yep, but then it can't drive upside down anymore and the weight would be shifted in such a way that completing Duke's Scouts would be really hard. I prefer to just have the water cannon disconnected from the machine, so you can pick it up yourself, and it wouldn't be in the way during other zones :)
plant 10 Feb, 2016 @ 2:16pm
You can just pop a water cannon on the bomb holder block. Then its the smallest wallclimber to beat all zones.

Thanks Veryzxr!
Veryzxr 9 Feb, 2016 @ 8:25pm

@Algae hehe
Algen  [author] 8 Feb, 2016 @ 11:42am
Thanks! The speed is important, because I had to beat Ross' record :P
Zacharoni 8 Feb, 2016 @ 11:33am
@Algae Ah, ok! Didn't think of that! Anyways it's a really cool wall-climber! :)
Algen  [author] 8 Feb, 2016 @ 11:27am
Thanks! Your design is smaller, I will have to edit all the titles, BUT my design is the smallest with big wheels (they're faster than normal wheels) :)
Zacharoni 8 Feb, 2016 @ 11:15am
Hey Algae!! Really cool design!! Also i made a smaller version of it without mods! Mind checking it out? https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=619460445
