will something like this be available or made for war of the chosen DLC?
Oaklock 7 May, 2022 @ 1:55pm
My computer is decent... but then I loaded 150~ mods to the game lol. So there are these weird stutters and pauses after I make decisions with people on the maps/global map.
Going to try this out and I will let you know!
If there are other graphics mods that should be recommended in addition, I would gladly welcome them!
CB|Torlo  [author] 10 Mar, 2022 @ 6:20pm
Huh. I'll be damned. Awsome!
The Boyses 18 Feb, 2022 @ 5:18pm
when i tried it out it works great. highly recommended for those that have low quality pcs
CB|Torlo  [author] 12 Feb, 2022 @ 9:46pm
@The Boyses, I'm afraid not, mostly due to me getting around to building a new computer a few years back, and thus not actually being able to test the mods capability in any noticeable fashion. However, assuming Firaxis never solved the issue with unrecognized graphic cards defaulting to ultra graphical settings, reading a short bit in discussions and comment sections and making the alterations to the files yourself should do the trick. Though their is only so much you can do. I was able to play at low-ish but playable framerate with graphical bugs with these tweaks on specs that should never have ran the game at all.

Graphical bugs like the sky ranger interior colors being all messed up, but the GUI to advance to the mission and the like functioned, and the battle maps themselves worked fine.

I wish you luck! Please, let me know how it goes.
The Boyses 2 Feb, 2022 @ 9:12pm
does this mod still get updated?
CB|Torlo  [author] 17 May, 2018 @ 10:56am
Check my discussion from a couple of years back in the description. You can follow what I did. This mod just took my files I changed manually into the extremely wierd Mod Tool Firaxis uses.
CB|Torlo  [author] 17 May, 2018 @ 10:54am
There is a file hidden somewhere, I forget, that actually auto-CTD's that game if you run a certain GPU. The game forbids it from even trying. This mod was designed to fix this issue. Of course, I've had wildy different outcomes from many different sets of PC's. Some people this mod helped a ton with luanch-day optimization fps issues, some people got it to work from the crash with my fix, some didn't help at all.
LaymanOrLehman? 14 May, 2018 @ 7:32pm
If it makes any difference to you, I'd like a mod that downplays the graphics. My laptop must be too old; it crashes right away on startup (graphics card is a 630M GeForce).
CB|Torlo  [author] 21 Feb, 2018 @ 4:32am
Hmm... I haven't updated this mod since something like the first week after the game came out... so... probably not. That being siad, it doesn't actually change in-game files, just a hidden background setting. So... try it.
Jess 7 Feb, 2017 @ 4:25am
Hey, that's pretty guuuud! *background laughter*
Seriously though, my PC is a supertoaster, it's not a proper gaming PC but it still can run TF2 on above average settings, yet this makes XCOM 2's frames go faster, which was something I had a issue with, thanks!
Garr Incorporated 5 Feb, 2017 @ 6:23am
Thank you!
CB|Torlo  [author] 4 Feb, 2017 @ 12:04am
Honestly, I got a new pc (newish) and quit playing x-com after a while, and so this wasn't updated. However, if people truly want this done, I will. I would have to look into what I did again. It has been a while.
Danbur Abrazer 27 Jan, 2017 @ 9:52am
Same as Garr & Ruby
Цith LW2 out people are going to come back, so hopefully noise will be made.
Garr Incorporated 24 Jan, 2017 @ 1:36pm
Wow. Someone is still using this mod...
Well, I can only sign under the Ruby Rose. Because I am using it too. And it helped in the past. Unfortunately, Long War is no joke.
Night_Angel_626 24 Jan, 2017 @ 12:39pm
plz update this mod... i have a shity laptop and this helpped
CB|Torlo  [author] 6 Sep, 2016 @ 9:23pm
Ahh, the probem with grammical errors due to typos... sorry about that.
CB|Torlo  [author] 6 Sep, 2016 @ 9:22pm
Now, I stopped maintaining this mod, but if enough noise was made, I'ld fix it up. Honestly, I got a new(ish) PC and never downloaded the modding software again, and didn't want to start from scratch. However, all of my files were lost. Now, I onl;y changed a couple of files, ture, but this would reuire me to *start* a new mod here on Steam... would you guys/girls/its/whoever want me to do that?
CB|Torlo  [author] 6 Sep, 2016 @ 9:19pm
I almost got this working on an Intel HD 4000. Not really well, with lots of suttering, and bad color for certian areas, but it was playable. By defualt the game does't allow usage of certain cards (to maintain normal playability for their game) even if they work, just not very well. Of course, initially this game started with all the settings on Ulta, which some PCs couldn't even load the menue to change these settings, which you couldn't change anywhere else, even in the game files.
Danielle 6 Sep, 2016 @ 11:38am
I have Intel HD graphics on my pc. Do you think I could play it if I were to lower the settings as hard as you can with the UT3 engine? I could reliably play Xcom:EU
VegladeX 20 Jun, 2016 @ 4:21am
Jgoodwin2552, Happy to help!
CB|Torlo  [author] 20 Jun, 2016 @ 3:59am
VegladeX, I appreciate the information. I can always use it
76561198029797964 16 Jun, 2016 @ 6:06am
The MOD will be update anytime soon?
VegladeX 16 Jun, 2016 @ 2:21am
I have a fairly good system that can run XCOM 2 anyway (GTX 750 Ti), but I thought I'd try using this to see if I could get my framerate out of the gutter during non-gameplay sections.

Unfortunately, I can report that it has made no noticeable difference to my framerates. I know this isn't what the mod is for so I'm not complaining, but I thought you might find this information helpful or useful in some way. :steamhappy:
CB|Torlo  [author] 15 Jun, 2016 @ 8:37pm
Hmm... There are certain cards that the game refuses to actually try and read. This is mostly becuase, well... the cards aren't really capable of playing the game. I once used an Old Intel 4000 HD integrated to play this. It worked... kind of. If you didn't mind a little stuttering, lag inbetween when orders are given and they occur, and insane multi-colored rides in the VTOL, your good. 3000 or less... I don't know... I'll give it a try, but I have n way to test if it will work, and even if you get the game to start, it might still be unplayable due to hardware limitations.
JavaMate 15 Jun, 2016 @ 5:30pm
Has anyone got this to work on their intel hd graphics card (3000 or lower) . I'm not having any luck. I meet all the requirements for this game accept for the graphincs card. Thanks for any info.
Garr Incorporated 17 May, 2016 @ 5:48am
We aren't nervous at all. When everyones' hearts are united, they can't lose!
:yawp:
Anyhoo, you can work at whatever pace you can handle. We are rather sensible community and we understand that you are a person with your own life as much as we are.
CB|Torlo  [author] 16 May, 2016 @ 8:34pm
I'll get a patch up tommorrow. I'm sory for letting it be, I've just been busy. I have a new job, and I'm going back to college. I'll fix it up though, no worries.
DrGrouch 16 May, 2016 @ 7:47pm
Any way you could improve on this mod? latest patch seems to have made performance worst
Garr Incorporated 7 Mar, 2016 @ 3:54am
This mod is working. I was on a Retaliation mission, and it was so slow that my soldiers'voices was really choppy. Then I installed this. Everything was still slow, but not to that degree! Even at the end of mission, where it started to slow down more, voices were whole, and whole picture was much smoother! Thank you, JGoodwin!
CB|Torlo  [author] 5 Mar, 2016 @ 1:50pm
This will do the trick. However, i'm still unsure if the mod activates when you start a new campaign, or when you turn on the game, as I really don't have anyone to test the feature since I got a new graphics card. Now, my settings curently use this mod to help with noticable lag in-game. This mod will help a pc that can't play the game play it. However, if the mod doesn't activate, there is another way to activate it, shown through the link.
google boobs 5 Mar, 2016 @ 9:18am
Does this mod help with the game crashing upon start up? I have a laptop that can't really run the game, and I was wondering if installing this would allow it to run on it.
Almathgrt 3 Mar, 2016 @ 7:09am
Thank you Valkerion. I surely will
CB|Torlo  [author] 2 Mar, 2016 @ 4:33pm
I was unaware of this, and am looking in to it now.
Valkerion™ 2 Mar, 2016 @ 3:34pm
I haven't tried this mod Alma, but many mods on the workshop right now have this problem. It is on the modder's end, and they need to delete a certain file from their mod to fix this.

https://www.reddit.com/r/xcom2mods/comments/48c8v3/psavoicepacks_and_other_mods_to_a_lesser_extent/d0j0ueo

If you also have many other mods, it is likely several of them also have this same problem. Right now I've had to skip out on a lot of voicepacks and other mods to keep my game under 6GB usage since I only have 8 to use. Just spread that link around and hopefully our modder overlords will follow those instructions. :)
Almathgrt 1 Mar, 2016 @ 12:03pm
is it possible that your mod affects my RAM usage? for some reason my xcom2.exe process now takes up 6 to 7gb of memory instead of 2 to 3gb that the game used to take
CB|Torlo  [author] 25 Feb, 2016 @ 12:33am
It shouldn't. I've edited two files that ONLY deal with how the game interprets "hidden" graphical settings. The only mods that might conflict with this are mods overhauling the graphic settings. This wont mess with any textures or models of any kind.
Terran 19 Feb, 2016 @ 11:19pm
ah i didnt know, well its fine as long as it dosent conflict with other mods that i might put in
CB|Torlo  [author] 19 Feb, 2016 @ 11:02pm
Ahh, that would be the game itself. You cannot start a save-game with a mod, and load that save without the mod. It's an X-com 2 thing. I would've added a isclaimer like just about every other X-com 2 mod, but I kinda figured everyopne knew. Sorry Terran, you'll be unable to play hat paticular save without this mod installed. (Just wait for when some A*hole decides to delete his/her mod and screws over EVERY single campaign-in-progress all of their subsribers had. The pain is real.)
Terran 19 Feb, 2016 @ 10:52pm
it seems when i disable the mod and then load up a save, it gives me an error saying "compatabilitypatch required" or something like that and prohibits me from playing
GnaReffotsirk 18 Feb, 2016 @ 9:22pm
Does this still work with the hotfix?
Demnchi 18 Feb, 2016 @ 7:24pm
I run the game on an HD Radeon 5770 (the stated Minimum requirements) and it ran horribly and made it very frustrating to play. However this mod makes it run so much better, from improved frame rates to faster loading times. I'm not sure what you did here, but thank you so much for this mod. (^_^)-b
CB|Torlo  [author] 18 Feb, 2016 @ 10:30am
Yah, i've been busy as of late, but i'll ge it upated.
76561198029797964 17 Feb, 2016 @ 3:45pm
Hi! Any plans do make the MOD compatible with the last (first, in fact) official patch? Improve the game even more? 'Cause any help is more than welcome! Thanks, man! :steamhappy:
CB|Torlo  [author] 15 Feb, 2016 @ 4:12am
Glad to hear it DrGrouch, let me know if it pops up again
DrGrouch 14 Feb, 2016 @ 11:29am
Scratch that, apparently reinstalling the mod fixed it
DrGrouch 14 Feb, 2016 @ 1:38am
Did you change something? my performance used to be awesome with this mod, then suddenly turned back to how it used to be without it just yesterday :(, mod is still installed and all, just wondering if you updated it and somehow it broke
Yuri The Henrique 13 Feb, 2016 @ 10:43pm
Great, my game was having low fps and dropping even more with lag spikes on every single movement, it was terrible, this mod solved the problem... BTW, using Linux, with an Radeon HD5670;
They said "You can't play with your shitty video card", WELL EXCUUUSE ME PRINCESS, my shitty vid-card is running the game at 40~45fps, so smooth I could make a smoothie with it.
I know the devs will patch the game in a week or so, but, I don't wanna wait :sectoid:.

Thanks mod creator for this.
And Thanks God for this mod creator.
no 13 Feb, 2016 @ 9:43pm
Hey, I was testing this with the "Stop Wasting My Time" mod at the same time, and the game didn't crash, but I'm not sure if one is overriding the other or what. The game does seem to be more smooth for me now though.
Love'n'Peace 13 Feb, 2016 @ 7:30pm
Alright, I'll give it a go, thank you!
