Thank you! Enjoy! Lemme know what ya think or if you notice any issues! :)
@Hammer. Bros. #UCG
Yes! Coming soon! Either this week or this month! :D Along with a massive update to the mod that improves every track!
Install my Virt soundtrack mod.
Visit its installation folder. (Crypt of the Necrodancer/downloaded_mods/VIRTsoundtrack , I think)
Edit the file names, replacing "_2.ogg" at the end of each file with "_1.ogg"
I believe that will do what you're hoping for!
Open game and activate my soundtrack mod to test!
Assuming it works, you may have to perform this any time I update the Virt soundtrack mod, which won't be but one or two more times in the next year I'm guessing. Or maybe your renamed files will stay, but the update's files will join them and then you'll have two Virt soundtracks, one replacing Rival and one replacing Jules! xD in which case, delete the files ending in _2.ogg and you're back to the way you like it!
Well, activating it is not enough, and unfortunately there's nothing I can do to change that.
@mu_subzero 's game is picking randomly between DannyB soundtrack, this mashup soundtrack, and FamilyJules7x soundtrack because the character being played is set to 'Random' under 'Change Soundtrack' in Settings/Options.
Similarly, @[AOS] G E N O C I D E must be playing with characters set to 'DannyB', because DannyB is apparently the only soundtrack being heard. So you're right, it isn't chance! :P haha
Like @happyfeastofwinterveilchampion suggests, if you want to hear this mod only, be sure to set all your characters to 'A_Rival' in the Change Soundtrack submenu. Although I personally enjoy Random with this mod activated, and even use it as a way to test and compare my mixdown to theirs!
Sorry for the confusion! :) have fun! Lemme know if this solves your troubles!
@[AOS]GENOCIDE it works fine for me. I think it randomly picks an appropriate song from among the 5 soundtracks, so you probably just chanced upon the original soundtrack. Activating it was all I did.
Another thought! Each row could face the direction opposite each other! Would require mirroring a sprite or two vertically, though!
Thanks!
In addition to upgrading the YouTube version, I plan on making downloads available in all formats (quality and codec -wise) starting with version beta1, which I'm getting started on as we speak!
Coincidentally, I just finishing cobbling together a placeholder album art in MSpaint! You'll see it alongside the preview videos on the mod's Steam page!
But great work on yours! My only complaints would be the layout of the characters (I might prefer two straight and evenly matched parallel horizontal lines each containing five characters) and the palette (turd brown is kind of drab; maybe something even closer to the browns in-game? darker, perhaps, to make the vibrancy of the characters and typeface POP!) Just my own ideas, I'm open to suggestions (and submissions!) any time, lemme know what you think!
No, thank you MORE! I'm glad you're enjoying it! :) Feel free to lemme know if you notice any areas where something's too loud, too quiet, etc.
Also, will there be an official album cover for this sometime? After converting your OGGs to MP3s for iTunes, I decided to whip up a quick album cover, if you're interested:
