change ID please

This mod shows as "Example Voice Pack" in the mod launcher and conflicts with other mods that do the same thing. Plz fix.

All voice packs work in WOTC;

however this mod's mod ID was not changed from "ExampleVoicePack"; so it is still has that ID which icidentally conflicts with another voice pack that forgot to change the ID.

working in wotc?
vulchor 30 Aug, 2017 @ 12:49am
I'm still a huge Duke fan, hoping you can come back to give this a WOTC touch up.

Wow, i remember playing the original, going to enjoy this!
DAOWAce 28 Jul, 2016 @ 1:07am
I've edited the mod and added a radio effect.

Replace the UPK that comes with the mod if you want it.
DAOWAce 19 Jul, 2016 @ 12:32pm
No radio filter kills it..

It also has that modpack shader issue; mod is 85MB bigger than it needs to be.

Dunno if you have seen this, but this reddit thread shows how to get rid of unecessary files in XCOM 2 mods that only make it harder to load:

https://www.reddit.com/r/xcom2mods/comments/48c8v3/psavoicepacks_and_other_mods_to_a_lesser_extent/

If you have already, then just ignore my post :)
Laraso  [author] 6 Mar, 2016 @ 8:24am
@Dracon, Pretty sure I have that in there, it's one of the possibilties for using the Shredder cannon IIRC. Unfortunately it's not possible to play certain audio clips whenever specific enemies are killed.
Dracon 5 Mar, 2016 @ 7:06pm
Can you please add Duke's 'I'm gonna rip off your head and take a *** down your neck' sentence into the forever one please. If this is controllable this would be specifically nice when he kills Berserkers, Faceless and Mutons :D

Need a Voice mod blade for Blade
IceMaverick 5 Mar, 2016 @ 2:11pm
@Laraso, No I mean if I install it and dislike the mod, I'm going to uninstall it, which breaks saves/causes missing content windows. So, because of the lack of a preview, I'm just not going to install it until there's a preview for it which is a shame because I like Duke Nukem, but there's too many poorly audio balanced and low quality voice packs for me to gamble on something without having any sort of idea of what I'm jumping into.
Laraso  [author] 5 Mar, 2016 @ 12:38pm
@IceMaverick, No preview videos, but this mod will not break any of your saves nor cause any missing content windows. That was a one-time problem that occurred with people who already had the mod installed when I changed a file. That is something I will not be doing again, so you will not experience those issues if you were to install the mod now.
IceMaverick 5 Mar, 2016 @ 11:50am
No preview video? I'm not really willing to break saves/ deal with annoying missing content windows for a pack that I don't even know how it's going to sound or if I'll like it.
RogueCmdr 4 Mar, 2016 @ 7:01pm
Dood. U had to been watching my streem or something. I had a Duke Nukem character in everyone of my streams. I remember playing Duke 3d back in the day. time to Kick A$$ and Chew Bubblegum, and I am all out of bubblegum!
tb2 22 Feb, 2016 @ 9:51pm
nice work! same rate is good for the forever files, though volume could be adjusted.
tb2 22 Feb, 2016 @ 9:51pm
LGR would be awesom for doing a DN voice pack. so good at it.
XONEGAMER 21 Feb, 2016 @ 3:56pm
I found the low sample rate voice pack fo Duke 3d more fitting the the crips sound DNF. Why? becuase in reality you will never hear a voice so crystal clear on military radio. I think this bring a little bit to the immersion. Also I love it because of nostalgia element. "Shake it baby" :)

Laraso  [author] 21 Feb, 2016 @ 9:54am
@Letteid Yup, got that line in there for multi kills, also "Cleanup on Aisle 4" as well!

@MisterBazooka Definitely interested, had some trouble getting good variety for the Duke 3D pack. Most of the lines were only good for being played after kills. Add me on Steam and you can send it to me via file sharing site such as Mediafire or email.

@Davey Ess The mod should work on any new saves, but if you want to get it to work on existing saves you might have to install this mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=619141883
Megalithic Baw Bag 21 Feb, 2016 @ 9:45am
is there a fix for this yet? my game has stopped working and ive read the comments to look for a resolve.
Letteid 21 Feb, 2016 @ 9:34am
the phrase "hehehe.. what a mess" would fit perfectly after a multi-kill :) awesome pack!
MisterBazooka 21 Feb, 2016 @ 9:30am
Laraso - with respect to the Duke3D pack, I have the GOG sound asset pack, it has more than 100 mp3s in it with (about 80 ish are Duke) if you want them for the mod, let me know how to get them to you.

Awesome mod by the way.
Ben_Blake 21 Feb, 2016 @ 8:47am
This was it - I was confused by that as well, i just wanted to update the picture of my Ash Williams on Steam but it didn't want to. and the uploader only wanted to update, so I deleted the Mod in the workshop and wanted to load it up again with same name and ID - but this was not allowed as it seemed. So I had to rename the Mod and now the people who had the first version can only play with the ignore Content mod...

Many things with the super-duper mod support do not work out in a smart manner. So this was no offense, I'm just glad I'm not the only one who got boned by this strange behaviour...
Laraso  [author] 21 Feb, 2016 @ 8:30am
@Ben_Blake See, that's the confusing thing. Like I said, all I did was change the mod assembly name from "ExampleVoicePack" to "Duke Nukem Voice Pack". After RivaL[.]ReNeGaDe complained that was causing errors, I changed it back to "ExampleVoicePack", and that fixed things for him, but not other people.

I don't really know what else I can do, I've already undone what I did to break it in the first place. The mod should still work for any new games you start, and it should start working again in existing saves if you install the missing content mod.

I didn't find out about the assembly name until after I released this mod, and this has been a learning experience for me. Any mods I make in the future I will make sure to set the assembly name before uploading, and once released I will never change the assembly name unless I really need to.
HeadStrikeR ! 21 Feb, 2016 @ 7:11am
I hope 'Blow it out your ass' is in there :]

Also for everyone's convenience you could upload a small video how it feels in motion.
Ben_Blake 21 Feb, 2016 @ 6:55am
Then it shouldn't be missing when loading a game... Maybe ID changed? Or the name/directory?
Laraso  [author] 21 Feb, 2016 @ 6:19am
@Ben_Blake I did not delete anything. All I did was edit a single value in a single file, and then changed it back after people reported errors.
Ben_Blake 21 Feb, 2016 @ 6:06am
@Destro I think he deleted and re-uploaded the pack, so names are the same but the mod itsself is missing...
Destro 20 Feb, 2016 @ 8:23pm
Yeah I just did the ignore content mod. I loaded with it unselected then loaded it selected and the problem was still there, wasn't sure if this would refresh any changes or whatever. It worked fine when I started like 2-3 hours ago then 30 minutes in I tried loading a game and it started throwing the error, mid-game and I hadn't quit or anything.

I just re-enabled it and it works now, I did do the reset mod list option on the ignore content mod then played for a while and quit and reselected your mod and it started working again fine.

@Sergeant Kelly @CollectibleCampionIn60FPS

[continued from previous comment]

The confusing part is that when I changed the file back to how it was originally, RivaL[.]ReNeGaDe stopped having issues, so it should have worked for you guys too. The mod should still work perfectly fine for any new games you start, but if you're still getting errors in old saved games, there's not really much I can do since I already changed the file back to how it was originally which should have fixed the problem.

You can try installing the mod that skips the check for missing mods, which should fix the problem, and the voice pack should continue to work fine.
Laraso  [author] 20 Feb, 2016 @ 7:19pm
@Sergeant Kelly @CollectibleCampionIn60FPS

I changed the mod name in the project file from "ExampleVoicePack" to "Duke Nukem Voice Pack". The mod showed up as "Duke Nukem Voice Pack" in the launcher either way, but I changed it because it was bothering me. After RivaL[.]ReNeGaDe pointed out that this was causing errors with saved games, I changed the file back to how it was originally, so it shouldn't be causing any more errors unless you started a game during the short period of time when the file was swapped around.
Sergeant Kelly 20 Feb, 2016 @ 6:49pm
Hm, I'm getting the error when trying to load save games from when I installed this. Did you change the file name or something?
Campion 🐰 20 Feb, 2016 @ 6:39pm
I loaded a game about 30 minutes ago and it worked. I had to restart it, and the second time I tried to load it claims the pack isn't there, even when having it ticked as a mod.
Laraso  [author] 20 Feb, 2016 @ 6:30pm
@Destro @CollectibleCampionIn60FPS Are you guys trying to load a game you started this afternoon? That's when I changed the file.
Campion 🐰 20 Feb, 2016 @ 6:25pm
I am getting the error as well, and I even tried reinstalling it.
Destro 20 Feb, 2016 @ 6:18pm
I'm getting an error about missing content for your voice pack when I try to load now, I never touched it after I installed it, it's enabled and everything
ƦƴѵŁ 20 Feb, 2016 @ 5:37pm
Yes! It works! Thanks for the quick reply and fix. I can't wait for more Duke Nukem content.
Laraso  [author] 20 Feb, 2016 @ 5:22pm
@RivaL[.]ReNeGaDe Should be fixed now
Laraso  [author] 20 Feb, 2016 @ 5:19pm
@RivaL[.]ReNeGaDe, I think I know what's causing that, I'll have it fixed in a few
ƦƴѵŁ 20 Feb, 2016 @ 4:52pm
Something broke when you changed the files around. I get the error "ExampleVoicePack" when trying to load any of my saved files.
Black Colonel Mustard 17 Feb, 2016 @ 8:45pm
That's all I could hope for :) Thanks so much!
Laraso  [author] 17 Feb, 2016 @ 6:07pm
@Black Colonel Mustard
I'll definitely look into that, thanks for the suggestion. Can't guarantee anything soon, I'd have to redo the voice pack from scratch if I changed all the audio files, I want to get the Duke 3D pack out before I consider working on a radio chatter version. If I end up doing that I'll probably release two, one for DNF and one for DN3D, as seperate options to choose from in addition to the clean versions I have now.
Black Colonel Mustard 17 Feb, 2016 @ 3:55pm
It would be excellent if you could add a radio chatter effect to the sounds, like what the Geralt voice pack did, so that they fit within the game better. As it is now, I love the mod, but when Duke speaks it sounds noticeably different from any voice in the game, as if it's coming from a different source than your soldiers.
Laraso  [author] 17 Feb, 2016 @ 10:57am
Probably going to start work on Duke 3D voices sometime this weekend.
vulchor 17 Feb, 2016 @ 7:54am
Thanks Laraso!
Xross 16 Feb, 2016 @ 8:37pm
Can we get Dr. Kleiner voice anytime soon?? :D
Yrjarik 16 Feb, 2016 @ 2:38pm
Awesome! Gotta try it soon. Hail to the king!
Laraso  [author] 16 Feb, 2016 @ 12:40pm
@vulchor
Just for you man.
