Is there any way to remove the gear from Torso Gear, Thighs or Shins? Since those lists don't seem to have a "None" option it seems like once you select one, you're permanently stuck with it. I tried changing my armor to something else and back and that doesn't seem to have worked.

Is this compatible with The Long War 2?
CAPTAIN SUPERMARKET 22 Nov, 2018 @ 2:25am
I not only have the problem the previous comment mentions (many, many duplicate entries) but another weird issue is that it messes up my character pool customization options; even though I have the empty WotC deco mods for heroes and regular XCOM guys, none of the empty options show up under the Torso Gear, Thighs and Shins options unless I'm in an active game. This means that new characters can be created, spawn with WotC decorations that I don't necessarily want, and then I'm unable to get rid of them. Right now I'm working around the latter issue by deactivating ArmorVariety when I'm just working in the character pool, but the former issue seems unsolvable by anything other than going into the guts of the mod and fixing whatever the problem is.

This one multiplies multiplies several of my extension gears by 8, all in all producing like 1500 items to schose from. With a slow computer I can imagine that it is "locked for 10 minutes" as mentioned before. Despite that I hardly am able to find my items, so I had to remove it.
[BBG]OmegaX123 3 Sep, 2018 @ 2:27pm
Not sure if it's just because I have too many customization mods, or one particular mod that's incompatible with this one, or just this one's broken or something, but this mod hard-locks my game when I go into props menu. I don't have WotC, but that's not listed as a requirement for this mod. I've given it literally 10 minutes or more and it doesn't 'fix' itself like what happens with other mods that cause a similar lock. It's so bad that I literally have to hit the Windows key and log out of my computer in order to be able to do anything, and then disable this mod in order to be able to play. I've tried this on two different computers and the same thing happens on both.
Danila 10 Jul, 2018 @ 1:40pm
Yeah it doesn't work, no armors show up at all, period. Can't find anything in torso, under normal kelvar, or Resistance kelvar, nothing in arms or legs. Either I'm missing something or this is just a broken mod at this point.
Khumbo 29 Nov, 2017 @ 6:18pm
Does this mod work?
XONEGAMER 28 Nov, 2017 @ 4:33am
Does not work with WOTC. :(
Rogue11 2 Oct, 2017 @ 6:29am
I've noticed a bug in WOTC where some of the vanilla armor parts can't be recolored. Has anyone else noticed this and/or know of a solution?
Daddy Takeda 7 Sep, 2017 @ 12:54pm
Can anyone update it?
Daddy Takeda 6 Sep, 2017 @ 6:04pm
Hey there, thank you for your reply. I tried what you said and i was already subscribe to the mod you're speaking of. I did start the game, close it and restart it, but nothing happen. I did empty the gear like said and again, nothing. I was really looking forward to play with those... too bad i guess.
drake_hound 6 Sep, 2017 @ 5:02am
You need a restart lucky it will show up second time you start up the game.
I had that issue the first time when I activated this mod.

But remember it is not available in the character pool. it is only available ingame.
So load a save where you can customise the armory and it will show up there.
It starts to scan trough all Civilians, Resistance warriors. All Armors and DLC armors and Mods armors.

you need to https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1127014384

Empty Wotc Deco slots for Wotc to get no tighs no shins and no tactical gear.

Remember to edit the other customisation
To stop duplicate from showing up, sadly you need to edit the other mod steamworkship content xcomcontent.ini
And ad ; before +bodyparts anything not conventional or kevlar. in torso arms and legs.

That will save you a lot of resource headache.
Daddy Takeda 5 Sep, 2017 @ 2:59pm
It doesn't work for me... Is there some known incompatibilities? I don't have many mods, it is strange that it don't work. I also have WotC... but it doesn't seem to be a problem for some.
Pantheon 3 Sep, 2017 @ 1:09am
it works but a lot of glitchy interactions. for example: clicking on the torso tab makes it so that character is forced to use a torso option because there is no "no torso" option. there are workarounds and it is avoidable but for me wasnt worth the hassle.
also it adds a ton of options in each tab so it takes a long time to go through each one.
Izellah 28 Aug, 2017 @ 9:33pm
This is by far the best mod of several that attempted to do this. Any and all armor, or civilian clothes can be mix and matched. Different torsos, arms, and legs.
Mac Warspeaker 11 Aug, 2017 @ 8:53am
Huge issue with civilian options clipping...
drake_hound 5 Aug, 2017 @ 11:30pm
This mod scans the game and other mods for armor type customisation.
Troughout all the 5 types of armors.

To stop duplicate from showing up, sadly you need to edit the other mod steamworkship content xcomcontent.ini
And ad ; before anything not conventional or kevlar. in torso arms and legs.

The mod start to work while inside the game. not in the character pool.
Cause it scares the heck out of people how many times the mod scans for duplicate armors.

Spreading this knowledge around: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=878158600
You will now be able to name them as in the other lists. Icons would help too, these are the hardest to find.
Boisegangpc 23 Dec, 2016 @ 8:21pm
@Provoking Perch: You could use the "Uniform Manager" mod. I haven't tested it myself, but it should allow you to swap between cosmetic sets quickly and easily.
ProvokingPerch 24 Jul, 2016 @ 7:43am
Hi, I was wondering if there would be any way for me to just add the soldiers' 'off duty' arm/torso/leg customisation options? they're the only reason I subscribed to this mod and this mod adds about 300 or so armor options which makes navigating to find the the thing I want quite hard.
Very_Truck_Man 24 Jun, 2016 @ 8:12pm
Mod doesn't work. Whenever I go into the game with this mod active, it gives me like 400+ torso selections, making the whole thing damn near unusable.
José 11 Jun, 2016 @ 1:51pm
Could you add a 'no legs' and a 'no right/left arm' option? To avoid clipping with some civilian and DLC torsos?
drake_hound 8 Jun, 2016 @ 12:23pm
The problem is not this mod, the problem is that it simply scans for all customisations. of other mods.

Since other mods make customisation for each armour (example tier but also exosuit)
This mod then duplicates those lines.

So you do need a beefy comp. if you use this and other customisation option.
Was thinking had how to solve this. but the coding is good.
Ball-Stabbing Emmanuel McCoy 3 Jun, 2016 @ 6:09am
By 'Vanilla' I mean the only armour options that are available in an unmodded game, I was unable to access any of the filtered options. I've used this mod before and it has worked, and any other cosmetic mod I have was installed before I installed this mod, so I know they're compatible. I'm using the Avenger Armoury and not the character pool.
davea  [author] 2 Jun, 2016 @ 5:20pm
@ austin, I am not sure what you mean by vanilla. This mod doesn't add any props. It lets you access the vanilla civilian gear. Are you looking in the armory or the character pool?
Ball-Stabbing Emmanuel McCoy 2 Jun, 2016 @ 3:42pm
I started a new game with all but this mod disabled, and still it had no effect. I wasn't able to use any of the props apart from the vanilla.
hurk 31 May, 2016 @ 8:22pm
@dave It is clearly something up with me, not this mod so sorry for the wasted time. This mod is fine. I'm on a (wiped) clean install and no matter what mod I add I'm having issues.
davea  [author] 31 May, 2016 @ 4:57pm
@ herkerd, sorry, what has not worked? When you say AC, do you mean the first DLC Anarchy's Children? After you installed that, did you delete all your local ini files? Are other mods working for you? Many people have been able to use Armor Variety after Anarchy's Children.
hurk 30 May, 2016 @ 9:42am
Downloaded AC on 28th, hasn't worked since then. Worked fine before so not sure how to fix?
davea  [author] 24 May, 2016 @ 7:41pm
@ ermes, are you using other mods? I am not aware of any specific mod conflicts, but it is always possible. If you can, please try with only this mod, no other mods activated. (Also delete your ini files again after changing your mod list.) If that helps and the mod suddenly works, then we will need to figure out which other mod is having a conflict with this.
Tunnel Rat 24 May, 2016 @ 5:27pm
one other thing--it looks like every file in every mod gets changed to lowercase on mac before being applied to the game. is there any way a file used would be case sensitive or have a case-sensitive dependency that would fail to load because of this? I imagine if that were the case it would effect other mods, too, but I'm grasping at straws here.
Tunnel Rat 24 May, 2016 @ 5:23pm
@dave I am able to use other mods successfully. I've actually tried this in the equivalent folder in mac (Libraries/Application Support/Feral/XCOM 2/VFS/Local/my games/XCOM2/XComGame/Config). gonna try tinkering around some more... it shows up in the mod manager, but doesn't have any effect that I can see.
davea  [author] 24 May, 2016 @ 4:48pm
@ ermes, for PC users, when changing from one set of mods to another, it is important to remove all the locally generated ini files from My Documents/My Games/XCOM2/XComGame/Config. For mac, I am not sure where these files are stored. Are you able to use other mods successfully?
Tunnel Rat 24 May, 2016 @ 4:16pm
Any idea why this wouldn't be taking effect? I'm on a mac and I just don't get any additional torso options, even in the armory. I also tried unsubscribing and downloading from nexusmods--installed it manually, but still no extra options.
davea  [author] 18 May, 2016 @ 5:04pm
@ ehrlich, the duplicates are in the armor mods you are using. It might be possible to enhance this mod to filter out the duplicates, as discussed below in the comments. But, I don't really know how to do that.
davea  [author] 15 May, 2016 @ 8:43am
Updated the description after a discussion with Albino Blacky. See "Note May 15" above.
Albino Blacky 15 May, 2016 @ 7:03am
hi. I tried using just this and other cosmetic mods such as Nigel and Eternals' Halo armors, Dor's Advent Armor, Titanfall gear, Uncle Gunman's Spartan Armor.

Just AV and the other cosmetics enabled. I did a few tests and it seems that the animations don't play on the modded cosmetics, but ran fine on the unmodified dlc armors. Had 3 soldiers equip defualts, and 3 soldiers with modded cosmetics, the unmodded guys can do all the stuff fine, while the others just spaz out. This was on a new campaign and having cleared out my document's config folder too.

Might be my game is bloated though at this point, but need some more research on this. Are you also on Nexus? I might have pm'ed you(don't know if it's the same guy daveallen)
davea  [author] 15 May, 2016 @ 6:49am
@ albino, this mod only affects the way that the picklists for armors are filtered. It does not make any changes to the armors themselves. Which other mods are you using, besides this one and the AH DLC?
Albino Blacky 15 May, 2016 @ 5:46am
@dave

Greetings sir!

I have come upon a problem when testing cosmetic mod customizations and your mod in conjunction with the Alien Hunter DLC armors. Long story short, it seems that the animations for the armor abilities might be tied to the customization of the armor. Can I add you or message you for more details?
davea  [author] 13 May, 2016 @ 7:10pm
I have uploaded a new version. There is no new functionality (sorry!) but I have recompiled after the Alien Hunters patch.

I had planned to use the suggestion from swinka6666 about improving the filters to remove duplicates. Unfortunately, he decided to drop out of modding and went to the trouble of deleting all his posts. So, I do not have the text of his suggestion, and I was not able to figure out the required change on my own.
drake_hound 12 May, 2016 @ 2:35pm
Hmm it does show up again.
Wasn´t showing up the first 4 test runs I did .

Well still no fix on the duplications list to be lessened?
Terrific. it works again.
davea  [author] 12 May, 2016 @ 1:15pm
@ nikibanzai, I have confirmed the mod is still working after the patch. Please see the youtube video link in the sidebar to confirm you are looking in the right place.

ok, again, this mod is not creating any armors and it isn't duplicating any armors. what this mod does is disable all the filtering, so you can see all the armors instead of just the ones the game decides to let you see. what i could try is to add "a little" filtering so that it just discards the duplicates which your other mods are adding.
