@alpharius:
Working for me in WoTC. See my post below, some editing should be done, but not essential.

does still work?

Had a look at this for WoTC.
This mod just changes values in XComGame.int, from a quick eyeball check most things seems to match up in the mod's .int against the WoTC .int.

The main thing which seems to have changed is the rank names for Psi troopers. There'll be the vanilla ones even when using this mod.

This overwrites one of the Gameplay Tips so probably best to comment this out:
[XGLocalizedData]
GameplayTips_Strategy[3]="Upon reaching the rank of Lance Corporal, soldiers will have more extensive customization options."

@macelharen:
Used this and LW Leader Pack in my last campaign and the two mods played very nicely together.

*crossing fingers hoping this works with the LW leader pack*

specialist is also Army, and lance corporal is Marine Corps and Tech Sgt is Airforce, so going off that, I'd say he's not going for authenticity

Is ths mod compatibe with the Long War Perk Pack?

Specialist is E4 then to Lance Corporal which is E3. I'd suggest swapping the two ranks.

Is there any way that the upgraded leaders could display the leader rank instead of the original one?

Spotted a typo in "LW_OfficerPack.int"
LWOfficerRankNames[1]=Liutenant

Should be Lieutenant

The best way to make officer and enlisted ranks, is to create 4 clone officer classes that mirror the default ones. (or 5 if you include psi class) Then you could add an option in the guerilla school to send a soldier to OCS. Which after completing would change his class.(Example: Ranger1 (having all enlisted ranks) would change to Ranger2 (having all officer ranks)

V1.10 Released, Additional dialogue plus mod shortening done, as well as Adding Leader names to other ranks (Not completely certain if it worked, I'll be testing that soon). As for the reported bugs, I'm not entirely certain is that is due to an issue on my side of incompatibilities with other content. @Elth, I may have fixed your issue I'm not sure.

Hey Taco. Only want that you know, that there is possibly something wrong. Maybe it´s only a conflict with one of my other Mods.
Disgruntled_Cat 13 Mar, 2016 @ 4:16am
NP dude, I just wanted to let you know incase it was something to do with the patch that screwed things up.
Tacoaloto  [author] 12 Mar, 2016 @ 8:51pm
I apologize Burner and Elth, I have been away from my computer the past week so I will look into this immediately.

I think I had a conflict with this mod where I was unable to attain the rank required to use Personal Combat Upgrades. Can anyone else confirm?
HeavyD2705 5 Mar, 2016 @ 1:39am
Hi the Ranks were the same as original in my game, so your mod didn´t take any effect. And I installed it to use it in a new Game, not in a saved one.

@andbruu, @line.of.eld It's not easy to get a new subclass properly displaying ranks. I'm having to backtrack to the UI files and subvert a definition to make an easy-to-use rank-renaming resource. In contrast, Leader Mod was almost painless to make a compatibility patch for which isn't something I need to ask about.

I'd just like to second all the requests for LW leader ranks to be included. The "Rank TItle Changes" mod does this. It also seems like from the mod description it doesn't force a dependency.

Thank you for looking into it.

Also, if somebody could tell me how to give the mod the actual UI tag that would be great, every time I try I get some weird error.

Version 1.01 has been released, renaming Specialist to Private First Class and touching up the shortnames for better consistency. I'll look into that extra mod as well.
andbruu 20 Feb, 2016 @ 4:15pm
@Tacoaloto Would you make it as an additional mod (LW leader ranks for LEADER mod). Also think you should check with the LWS beforehand if its OK with them.
Last Rhodesian 20 Feb, 2016 @ 4:12pm
Any chance of assigning characters officer ranks thave have been trained through the GTS (with leader pack mod)?
Tacoaloto  [author] 20 Feb, 2016 @ 4:11pm
@andbruu Rookie is already renamed to Private actually, but maybe Private First Class would probably work for Specialist. Now for Leader names I believe that could be possible, but it would force a mod dependency on this mod, which possibly not everyone is subscribed to the Leader Mod.
andbruu 20 Feb, 2016 @ 4:05pm
@Taccoaloto
[Suggestion] for "Specialist" Rank:
Go with private, or private 1st class. If going with Private 1st Class, rename rookie to Private. IMO rookie and squaddie should be avoided as it is more slang than rank, and sounds to "silly". I am not happy about recruit, as I expect my troops to have completed basic training.

Anyways, great of you to bring these ranks back.

[Requiest]
If possible, and OK with the LW team, could you then change the leader ranks from the LEADER mod to match those of LW?
Starfoth The Burgundy Silk Rug 20 Feb, 2016 @ 3:13pm
This is absolutely awesome.

I always found it awkward how people have like 20 colonels and a bunch of captains. Giving soldiers enlisted ranks from LW looks so much more appealing.
