So I have this problem in 3d enviroments like this when I use mirroring, in the mirrored window I can't see my desktop in virtual monitor but I can see it on my headset any fix for this?

Very loud.
WormSlayer  [author] 8 Apr, 2021 @ 5:06pm
It should just show up in your list of environments @elkxy
Elkxy 6 Apr, 2021 @ 5:33pm
how do i get this in vr i subscribed idk what to do now
WormSlayer  [author] 25 Sep, 2020 @ 11:54am
Multi-monitor would be nice @Pandion, but its complicated to implement with these baked 3d scenes.
WormSlayer  [author] 25 Sep, 2020 @ 11:53am
No plans for versions with other aspect ratios @haloharry, but I did have vague ideas to make a version with no 3d monitor, so people can use a floating monitor in that room.

You are clearly a man of taste and distinction, @Dirk Davenport (mythsqueue)!

I was wondering you are planning on making a room with Ultrawide screen? 2560x1080 and or 3840x1440p
Pandion 23 Dec, 2018 @ 2:46pm
Multi monitor support would make this perfect (larger monitors though).
WormSlayer  [author] 6 Dec, 2017 @ 6:17pm
Who needs a mouse :P
DjBasA 20 Nov, 2017 @ 10:24pm
nice job, where is the mice tho?
are we using a computer with only a keyboard?
Fate-lucky 8 Mar, 2017 @ 4:24am
I used 3dsmax to make this scene. But i cannot see testures and light is too bright. Can anyone share some tutorial materials. Many thanks.
WormSlayer  [author] 6 Mar, 2017 @ 11:44am
@kimjeo: I used 3dsmax to model this scene, but blender should work fine for making VRD environments too..
kimjeo 6 Mar, 2017 @ 6:05am
How can you design the computer in the environment? By blender?
DrLeckda 16 Jul, 2016 @ 5:42pm
playing stanley parable in this VR makes jack a dull boy

yo dawg
WormSlayer  [author] 29 May, 2016 @ 11:53am
@TonViper: Hopefully multi-monitor support is coming soon. Remains to be seen exactly how that is going to work with 3d environments like this, they might have to be separate downloads.
TonViper 29 May, 2016 @ 10:20am
Now if only there was a version with multi-monitor support...
WormSlayer  [author] 26 May, 2016 @ 5:29pm
@Reapy: Sorry about your head :P

I have bugged the developer about making the environments interactive and/or customisable, but no luck so far XD
Reapy 26 May, 2016 @ 1:29pm
First VR thing that made me smash my head into the desk! I was so enthralled by how immersive the simple room was that I needed to see if I could look UNDER the virtual PC, forgetting I had an L shaped desk IRL where it was open in the room, whoops!

Really great environment. I wish it were easy to decorate with random stuff as in drag and drop from a big library of objects.
kermit56780 25 May, 2016 @ 4:05pm
This, freaked me the f***out!
Inpu 5 May, 2016 @ 12:52am
So dope !
WormSlayer  [author] 24 Apr, 2016 @ 11:16am
@Jassy Pants: There is a rough guide to making environments forming over here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=665208186

Any chance of a simple walkthrough on creating these? I can work 3DS (barely) but to know what sort of thing I need to aim for to create something like this. Would like to make a cool video games room with old gaming stuff to look at while gaming :)
Skylers Meth 23 Apr, 2016 @ 3:09am
Not workshop item that immediately jumps out as something cool to see, but having tried it, it's certainly worth a gander. Good stuff.
WormSlayer  [author] 19 Apr, 2016 @ 2:39pm
@Nefhril: Those two environments are the test subjects for selling things on the workshop. Still a couple of things we need to finalise before they become available.

@pappa-nodz: It is intentionally empty and distraction free, but I am working on a version of the same room, but with some decorations. If my poor old computer ever finishes rendering it, I will be makeing it available for free :)
poppa-nodz 18 Apr, 2016 @ 10:34am
im sitting at your desktop as i type this comment, this room needs some decoration bad it looks like a failed wall street guy committed suicide in here....and where is the mouse i cant find it to click post comment~! nice work bud looking forward to seeing this again with some cool 3d models around the room, you should have virtual desktop writen on the video card in the tower glowing with LED lights even if it is static and cant do the neat stuff they do with geforce, thanks for sharing your work,
Nefhril 17 Apr, 2016 @ 11:32pm
How do I download Cinema Screen and Rick's Garage? They are in the workshop but no subscribe button...
CaptainGank 17 Apr, 2016 @ 7:45pm
Of all the things I've tried in VR, the immersion of this simple little room is perhaps the most convincing. Thanks Worm!!
WormSlayer  [author] 17 Apr, 2016 @ 11:47am
@martind: Right now the environments are totally staic, no way to add or change anything. I'm in the middle of rendering an Oculus themed version of the same room that has some neat posters and other decorations though.
martind 17 Apr, 2016 @ 11:11am
Will there be a way to add decorations to the room?
George Slowpez 17 Apr, 2016 @ 7:48am
:steamhappy:Love it! Can't wait to see more of your environments.
okumay 17 Apr, 2016 @ 7:39am
Just what my real desktop was missing: a couple milliseconds of latency!
WormSlayer  [author] 16 Apr, 2016 @ 8:20pm
There is currently a bug that is preventing workshop environments from showing up, if you have VRD installed to a non-default directory. Guy is working on a fix!
Ravere 16 Apr, 2016 @ 7:26pm
Finally I can escape the dull reality of my office - thx for setting me free WormSlayer!
Commander Dave 16 Apr, 2016 @ 6:29pm
@Ryu you can navigate to ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Virtual Desktop\Environments to find all of your downloaded environments. You should be able to move and/or double click the environments you want from there to your Oculus Store version. Unfortunately, I don't know for certain that this works as I don't have this on Oculus Store (Only on Steam for me).
Ryu 16 Apr, 2016 @ 12:19pm
I look forward to trying this out! Subscribed to it in Steam, but I've been launchign VR Desktop through Oculus Home. Is there a way to enable this over there? Can't seem to find it in the list of options.
WormSlayer  [author] 14 Apr, 2016 @ 7:41pm
@diegog5: Sorry mate, at the moment the environments cant have any kind of interactivity or animation.

@Davearino: Thanks, spent way too long working on it for such a relatively simple scene :steamfacepalm:
diegog5 14 Apr, 2016 @ 6:05pm
Can't wait to get my Oculus...:steamsad:, can you make it so that there a Vive in the virtual room and when we push a key we put the vive on? and inside the Vive we experience Virtual Desktop as if we were wearing a Vive even though two real worlds back we are wearing one of them Oculus thingies?:Amane:
Commander Dave 14 Apr, 2016 @ 6:02pm
+1 for the work put into it. I agree with Jake. Kind of odd to download a 3D office to sit in when I'm already sitting in an office. Well, my office is a mess, so I guess if I want to sit in a RELAXING and CLEAN office, this is a good way to do it! :)
Jake Armitage 14 Apr, 2016 @ 4:33pm
THIS is why i ordered a Vive, so i can sit in my computer room with it on and simulate sitting in a computer room watching youtube. What a time to be alive!
