Do these State mods get rid of the USA civ? I didn't see it as a selection...
UnmotivatedZombie 7 Jan, 2018 @ 6:43am
needs a "2nd amendment" bonus that enhances all firearm based infantry units

>Every city in Texas may have an Alamo
I'm not sure if I should be indignate, as a proud San Antonian, or absolutely fucking ecstatic.

May Cowbot is a Future Tech?
Cisco 22 Sep, 2017 @ 5:08am
you spelled cowboy wrong in the start screen as cowbot
Wins Day 3 May, 2017 @ 7:36pm
You ought to rename "The Alamo" to "Mission". There was only one Alamo, but several missions across Texas.

does this work with YNAEMP?

FUCK YEAH TEXAS REMEMBER THE ALAMO
Sabby 11 Apr, 2016 @ 11:07pm
I laughed at the Alamo being a temple
bowerbank 15 Mar, 2016 @ 3:57pm
youre welcome! the mod system is a bit tricky
calcul8or  [author] 15 Mar, 2016 @ 3:53pm
@bowerbank - thanks for helping out kingtiger_v
YourCrazyDolphin 15 Mar, 2016 @ 2:48pm
You know what just makes this fitting even in a histroically accurate game? Texas actually WAS its own country, however brief. Or at least tried to be.
bowerbank 15 Mar, 2016 @ 11:10am
you're welcome!
kingtiger_v 15 Mar, 2016 @ 11:04am
Yes, thanks. The location of the buttons was just odd/confussing.
bowerbank 15 Mar, 2016 @ 10:58am
welcome! does it work?
kingtiger_v 15 Mar, 2016 @ 10:45am
Nevermind, there is the Single Player button at the top, it looks like a header. THANKS that helpd me find it!!!!
kingtiger_v 15 Mar, 2016 @ 10:44am
I don't see a "mods" single player option. just the normal single player option. Under the main Menu there are 7 options: SINGLE PLAYER, MULTIPLAYER, MODS, OPTIONS, OTHER, DLC, and EXIT. Under MODS there is an Options... button on the top and three buttons acroos the bottom: Back GET MODS and NEXT. NEXT just lists the mods that have been enabled and has a Back option at the bottom. Suggestions/am I missing something?
bowerbank 15 Mar, 2016 @ 10:33am
so do you use the "mods" singleplayer button, or the normal singleplayer button from the main menu?
kingtiger_v 15 Mar, 2016 @ 10:03am
After I select Next it takes me to a screen that tells me the mods are being enabled. I click back, and they show the green enabled button on them still. Click back again. Then when I go to a single game none of the mod options (like Texas) are there to use.
bowerbank 15 Mar, 2016 @ 9:48am
ok, its like this:
mods>select the mods>next>singleplayer>set up game> play!
kingtiger_v 15 Mar, 2016 @ 9:38am
If this helps, I can see that they mods are enabled via the mod interface of the game. But it is like they are not being added into the settings or enabled on the game. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
kingtiger_v 15 Mar, 2016 @ 9:08am
I added this mod (and many of your other state mods) into my CIV V game, but they do not show up when I try to play a single game. Is there something I need to do beyond going into the MOD section of the game and enabling them there?
calcul8or  [author] 15 Mar, 2016 @ 3:25am
@Asra - I like your ideas. I changed up this mod a bunch of times during development, and used most of the ideas you have here at one point or another
Hellhound 14 Mar, 2016 @ 9:39pm
I love the idea of Texas as it's own Civilization! =) I would like to make my suggestions for alterations to their UA, UB, and UU. First, I LOVE the ones you selected; nothing is more Texan than those! But I would like to know what you think about these:

UA: The Lone Star State: Start the game with Animal Husbandry already discovered. Pastures provide +1 Food. Horse and Oil resources provide double quantities.

UB: The Alamo*: Cost 300 production: +9 Combat, +25 HP, +2 Faith, provides +2 Culture and +2 Tourism after Railroad is researched. Replaces Arsenal.
* I was thinking about maybe Mission Complex too, because the Alamo was a specific mission complex and sounds more like a World/National Wonder.

UU: Cowboy: Cost 225 Production or 450 Faith, requires 1 Horses resource: Combat Type Mounted Units: 34 Combat, 5 Movement, begins with Free Pillage promotion and does not suffer from No Defensive Terrain Bonuses unlike other Mounted Units. Replaces Cavalry.

@christoph94, I added a direct link. Once downloaded, move the file into C:\Users\(your computer name)\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS and the game should extract it
Pishoooom 13 Mar, 2016 @ 7:45pm
Just download this data and copy to the path "C:\Users\(your computer name)\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5 "delete the file "CIV5MODDATABASE.db" and start game go to mods and single player.. please make sure that you have given tick mark (ENABLED) ... Enjoy it !!!

Texas doesn't appear as a selection for country when I open up (mods, single player). how do I fix this?
AceOfSpades 13 Mar, 2016 @ 10:07am
Thanks, Sam is my great great great great uncle.
calcul8or  [author] 13 Mar, 2016 @ 9:48am
@octoski: Early on, I made unique buildings as National Wonders frequently, because there is often only one (such as the Alamo). However, unique National Wonders are so limited in use that I am finding ways to make use of iconic things like the Alamo as regular building replacements. It's a design decision that can be challenged.

hello If I am right this is new civi.. to game but somebody would not mind to help me to guide on how to add new civilization because I am not too much familiar with this process!!!
Thank you!!
bowerbank 12 Mar, 2016 @ 8:25pm
i know lots of people probably ask you this, but is there a guide or something you can direct me to that teaches how to add civs? thanks!
hoops 12 Mar, 2016 @ 7:30pm
remember all of the alamos
Mr. X 12 Mar, 2016 @ 6:32pm
An okay alternative to the other Texas Republic civ, but I think the Alamo should be made into a unique Heroic Epic or something. Otherwise, maybe just make the building into a Mission, considering that is actually what the Alamo is.
The Real Chris-Chan 12 Mar, 2016 @ 6:22pm
Vermont too.

@AutoDMC =[GA]= Claifornia attempted to be an independent state, but the USA wanted it XD
AutoDMC =[Ga]= 12 Mar, 2016 @ 5:05pm
@Iwanabaengineer The goal was always to join the USA; the step of being an independent nation was simply to "change hands" from Mexico to the USA. Problem is the USA balked at accepting the Republic of Texas after the revolution, so Texas had to remain independent for a period of time. The pride is not necessarily that Texas was an independent state, per se, but that Texas SUCCEEDED at being an independent state until the USA annexed it. No other state can say that.
Yensil 12 Mar, 2016 @ 2:58am
The UA is a bit overpowered, maybe knock off the start with animal husbandry bit? Also, shouldn't the UU be Rangers rather than Cowboys? The Texas Rangers were after all one of the greatest law enforcement and combat agencies in US or even World history....
Rodya 11 Mar, 2016 @ 7:37pm
Can we get a version with Hank Hill instead of Sam Houston?
ImmaEngineer 11 Mar, 2016 @ 7:35pm
@captainZapperz then joined the US for protection
