I dont have this working anymore....Karl are you still active and able to update this mod.?
Aeterny 27 Aug, 2022 @ 10:15am
The number of councilors should honestly be raised, ruling over a vast empire like Byzantium, Abyssinia, the HRE and others should have twenty additional councilors with a handful of miscellaneous position additions. Fifteen positions for kingdoms with miscellaneous positions like senator for extra room would be nice with nearly thirty positions for empires with a handful of miscellaneous positions like senator.

And the case of Abyssinia is difficult, since you could be expanding to northeastern Africa, with plenty of powerful Dukes who want a seat on the council but there aren't many spots left.

The only mod that offers that amount, which is the Parliament mod, just doesn't seem to be working. And doesn't cover anything outside of its scope, like Poland and Kievan Rus.

@Kevin, I think that is right, you need the DLC.
If you are deciding if you want to buy the DLC yes/no, I personally think it is the 2nd best DLC (after the reapers due), so when it is on sale you could definitely check it out.
kevin_greenleaf 22 May, 2021 @ 10:35am
Ah ok thank you for the reply. So it won't work without DLC right? Thanks
Karl244  [author] 22 May, 2021 @ 2:24am
@Kevin, I made this 5 years ago.
If I remember correctly, it is because conclave added the extra council members (beyond the 5 ministers).
kevin_greenleaf 21 May, 2021 @ 3:43pm
why require DLC?
Karl244  [author] 17 Mar, 2021 @ 12:06pm
Yes
Aeterny 16 Mar, 2021 @ 11:58am
So this only activates when council is empowered?

@RUSTYSOLDIER Try having the launcher active and then subscribing, than exit the launcher and restart it, it should be there after that.
RustySoldier 31 Jul, 2020 @ 8:21am
Same issue, is there a way to download the file ? The file doesn't show up in the mod files of the game once I subscribe
davimatos101 30 Jul, 2020 @ 1:47pm
Can I download it out of steam somewhere?
Tibus 26 May, 2020 @ 8:24pm
Hi Karl tbh I think when i play a Muslim race its usually Egypt as its always been my fav culture and from memory it always starts with absolute rule. I will try a new game with it and chane a law allowing for council participation and see what happens.
Karl244  [author] 26 May, 2020 @ 9:17am
Hi Tibus, there are no racial or religious differences between the two, or not in the files at least. Are you sure that in the Muslim case, you have enacted at least one council law? Because for the extra council members to appear at the higher tiers, it requires you to have at least the 'council enabled law' (or something like that). Can you check and if not, report so?
Tibus 25 May, 2020 @ 11:53pm
Hi Karl, I have been working on finding the solutions to some of the issues ive been having with some of my fav mods...yours is one of them. What i have learnt is that if i play a christian culture i get the extra slots for advisor's and council members but if i play a Muslim race those extra slots are not available. can you look at this. I know CK III is coming but im not convinced yet that its going to be better than what we have with CK II.
Capharnaüm 25 Apr, 2020 @ 4:06pm
thanks
Mangagod 28 Feb, 2020 @ 8:01pm
I can't seem to actually put anyone into the extra council spots, they appear but when I try to add anyone it shows a blank list as if their isn't anyone qualified.
Tibus 22 Nov, 2019 @ 11:51am
Hey Karl. Ill do that and let you know what they say. It really sucks as i love the mod it worked fine before they did the update.
Karl244  [author] 22 Nov, 2019 @ 11:07am
Hello Tibus, sad to hear that this does not fix your issue. If I were you I would contact steam or go to the paradox interactive forums. I am really sorry I cannot help you more.
Tibus 21 Nov, 2019 @ 2:56am
Hi Karl, I tried what you said but i cannot find the files for your mod in the paradox Interactive file folders anywhere. I have the mod subscribed no change i unsubscribe it no change. yet it continues to show in my launcher mod list.
Tibus 10 Nov, 2019 @ 1:52am
Hi Karl, thanks i'll try that and start all over again with game it was working fine until the latest update to game then i started having lots odd issues with some mods not working so that is why i decided to do a clean out and only have the ones i really enjoyed and wanted those features to play with but with yours i just cant seem to get ride of it and then have it work again. I'll try what you said and let you know. cheers Tibus
Karl244  [author] 9 Nov, 2019 @ 9:10am
Hello Tibus, hmm that is really odd behaviour. What I would do if I were you was to unsubscribe. Then go to your documents folder: Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings 2/mod and then delete both the zip and the .mod file of this mod. That should do the trick.
Tibus 3 Nov, 2019 @ 11:49pm
Hi Karl, I have and issue with the mod. For some reason i cant seem to delete the mod from my game launcher. I recently had to uninstall me game from steam and then reinstall how ever when i did a mod review of the ones i wanted to play yours would not work. When i looked at it i tried to delete it no effect unsubscribed mod uninstalled game reinstalled game then looked at launcher and it was still there. I resubbed the mod and tried again but the mod still would not work. Any suggestions on how i fix this?

Tibus

Abolishing Council Power remove all the extra slots. Would be good to actually have them.
Alpharion 24 Nov, 2018 @ 4:00pm
Can you update this for Holy Fury?
Aragon1500 6 Aug, 2018 @ 6:43pm
Yeah it just gives a checksum error cause ck2plus is adamant about giving you that event and not letting you use the rules to turn it off
Karl244  [author] 29 Apr, 2018 @ 11:51am
Probably
sab141 29 Apr, 2018 @ 11:47am
Is this compatible with CK2+
Karl244  [author] 26 Mar, 2018 @ 11:25am
I guess that is possible. You could look at the Game of Thrones mod to see how they did it.
Arkad 26 Mar, 2018 @ 1:14am
If I may make a request, is it posible to add a cange concil position feature? Kinda like the one for the other concil positions (Marshall, Steward ect.) becuas you can swap your marshall and make him a spy master, If you want to without geting the fired form concil modifier.
76561198049766387 21 Feb, 2018 @ 9:28pm
can t assign council members with this mod, saddly.
Karl244  [author] 14 Jan, 2018 @ 11:49am
I don't see why not.
geofiendking 14 Jan, 2018 @ 11:49am
Is this compatible with Parliament?
Paulie Walnuts 18 Dec, 2017 @ 11:27am
My bad, I hadn't passed enough.
Karl244  [author] 18 Dec, 2017 @ 10:46am
How many council laws have you passed?
Paulie Walnuts 18 Dec, 2017 @ 9:37am
I should have eligable council members, however it says that there are none.
TWrecks 11 Dec, 2017 @ 12:23am
So does this mod mean that your council can screw you up the ass even more than they normally can? :D

If my understanding is correct then I like this. I like this a lot. Thank you so much.
Karl244  [author] 19 Nov, 2017 @ 11:01am
It works just fine.
Calvin J. Candie 19 Nov, 2017 @ 10:15am
Can you update it please? :)
Karl244  [author] 27 Feb, 2017 @ 2:04pm
No, it is hardcoded in the game.
JGdaCaesar 25 Feb, 2017 @ 10:34pm
can you do it without empowering the council?
Karl244  [author] 17 Oct, 2016 @ 5:47am
Better than nothing, but feel free to look into my code and expand on it.
Lantians 16 Oct, 2016 @ 8:29pm
3 Senators doesn't make much of a Senate.
Chef 26 Sep, 2016 @ 12:31pm
Thanks im glad its not a bug ive wanted a mod like this for a while
Karl244  [author] 26 Sep, 2016 @ 6:35am
Yes, you need empowered council laws (or at least the 1). This is due to the fact that the council position titles from vanilla required that too. I just copied and pasted here and there.
Chef 25 Sep, 2016 @ 3:30pm
im playing as a viking with two chiefdoms does this mean it wont work? I cant see anymore council positions than the standard 5 or does this mod require you to have empowered council laws?
say nizzy innit 23 Apr, 2016 @ 10:15am
great mod been looking for a mod that does exactly this
WizardatKingsbury 29 Mar, 2016 @ 5:07am
It was a compliment, I think this is a great idea. I just can't use it until I've got more achievements :P
Karl244  [author] 28 Mar, 2016 @ 2:01pm
Thanks... I guess?
WizardatKingsbury 28 Mar, 2016 @ 12:51pm
I used to have ck2 before steam and there's so many achievements i would already have if it'd be on steam. Now whenever I see a good mod, I curse because I can't ironman it.
