Thanks Rameriwether. It looks like at some point Cornacs were buffed, and my mod was overwritting the buff.
I've tweaked this mod to not overwrite that, the fix is uploaded, make sure you have addon version 1.0.1 and it'll be working fine.

This mod only allows the cornacs (Spellblade) to have 5 talent points on the class side, but without the mod they start with 6. I do not know anything anything about the previous updates to know if this changed at some time, but it's something I noticed.

I haven't been keeping up with the news. How do I find out whether mods will work after patches? I remember a year or two ago the weapons mod stopped working and was totally blindsided.

Post 1.5 update testing seems to indicate this still works fine, so no worries about updating.

Actually, it's worse than that.

Classes with a racial have that category AND a talent point pre-spent in that racial line.

Cornac has the category assignable, without more categories, AND without that extra generic talent point.

I think Having the two cats at birth more accurately reflects their 'adaptability' in how they can unlock more, specialize, infuse, etc. More options represent adapting.

No. I think having freedom for spending 1 more of your category points (without get more category points) isn't a reasonable racial special. Actually getting more category points than the other races would be.

Maybe, but people are more likely to be willing to use buffs than to opt into nerfs.

I think cornac could feel okayish with just the 1 cat point and 0 exp penalty (things like stone/alchemy, extra inscription, and celestial/light are all really strong), as long as ogre gets nerfed. Having 1 extra inscription (beyond the 5 slot limit!) while having other bonuses from investing the 5 points, does seem to make it a better cornac imo.

Vanilla Cornac: Gets +1 Talent Category Point (but no Racial Talent Tree)
Vanilla Other Race: Gets a Racial Talent Tree (which effectively has 1 Talent Category Point invested in unlocking it)
Modded Cornac: gets +2 Talent Category Points (but no Racial Talent Tree)
Modded Other Race: Gets a Racial Talent Tree (which effectively has 1 Talent Category Point invested in unlocking it)
So that Cornac's actually get access to more Talent Category Points rather than just getting slightly more freedom in how they spend the 1 racial Talent Category Point.

I always felt like they should have a higher XP modifier. no stat bonuses or racial talents is kinda rough. I mean yeeks level faster and they get ridiculouse stat bonuses and racial abilities. for a race that literally can't think outside the box(theway/hivemind)they should have an XP penalty. :steamsalty:

Well not having the race tree is on itself the advantage (although a minor one) for classes where you are short of generic points.

Wow, never noticed that, and Cornac's were my favorite as fast learners.
