As for the Jumpdrive I'd recommend just trying to design a jump pack that can be used with a merge block.
My plan for dealing with getting into space involves a station just out of the gravity as a refuel/recharge point so it would be a good place to leave a jump pack to charge and just park it in orbit of Mars with a beacon or GPS coords saved. No reason to totally redesign the wheel when you already have a great design.
I'll admit I didn't actually try landing it. I just pasted it in to take a look and the lack of landing gear was something I happened to notice.
1) Well, not enough room for it - we still don't have "combined blocks" feature from ME =(
2) Yeah, my primary objective actally was to build ship on server for traveling between Mars and Europa, but jump drive will be very helpful as well, I'll try to add it somehow (I guess that will be another build)
3) It designed to land on it's bottom, actually, it works great in action, I already landed it safely on Mars and that was not even 100% flat surface :)
The only things I see as issues are.
1. Little to no interior lighting. (Unless the beacon is supposed to full that role, because turning it on helped a lot)
2. No jumpdrive. I know it is interplanetary, but I second @pat's comments about adding one or giving it an upgrade module to add one.
3. I didn't see any landing gear so you would have to be VERY careful when landing so you don't tear up.
All that being said you have a great ship here and I intend to put it to use in my survival game once I'm established enough to build one.
Collector + connector is actually trading adapter for future usin in Exploration Enhancement Mod. However, this ship is large enough to be respawnship, but it can be tier 1 ship, which can be bought on a shipyard.
@CW, yeah, jump drive is large enough to "promote" this shuttle from Tier 1 (1st ship after respawnsip) to Tier 2 :P
So, I guess it can be new, larger version, "Hornet XL", there I guess I can add more thrusters as well.
otherwise i put the battleship coil gun on top of the hydro tank (think i had to bump a couple ion thrusters a brick out to fit it.
then just put another converyer block in the same position of the gatlings. it has a gatling with a ring of small hydro burners on either side ....
like i said, i made it ugly.... was a few quick desperate changes in survival...
if you do go for an change i'd just slip in a reactor or two, maybe an extra ion or hydro forward facing in the winglets. the jump drive is farly bulky and would muck with all the pipeing. it is a sweet ship with great lines, don't mess with it too much :)
@CW, can you make some screens of your changes?
does a decient job landing on a moon when overloaded (mine is pushing 3 mil kg, added a huge turret to take care of pirates)
only thing i changed other than turret was to extend out the gatlings with one more converyer block to add in more hydro thrusters & replaced an elbow converyer tube with a small reactor. found it would take a while to stop in space. (the all glass pilot area is way cool, don't want to bump into stuff :) )
No offence
@President-Dante-Wallace, make sure you enabled hydrogen thrusters. I set them off by default for not wasting hydrogen, it's or 4 on toolbar, don't remember exactly... There's all groups of thrusters on 1st toolbar after turrets shooting.
